Improved Browsing Experience

While I appreciate the need for advertisements, they are out of control on a great number of sites. Some of these sites belong to multi-billion dollar organizations, which are not in any desperate need of "a few more dollars" earned at the expense of their online visitors' experience.

This application has dramatically improved my online experience. Having the ability to choose whether or not I will allow advertisements feels "as it should be", to be honest. Many reputable sites recognize the ad blocker in use and offer to rein in their ads if the user allows a few through in exchange. That shows that apps like this are, at least for now, shifting a bit of power back into the consumers' hands. I heartily approve.

I've had only positive experiences with NortonAdBlocker in the months I've been using it. I felt it was time I write a review saying as much.

Norton Ad Blocker & Norton Services

Norton Ad Blocker is a must have for any avid smart phone user. My iPhone is now more secure than ever before, and has the latest encryption on the market, thanks to Norton Services (Norton Ad Blocker, Norton Secure VPN, Norton Security, Norton VIP Access, and Norton Privacy Manager). I can now do more on my iPhone with less worry. Before subscribing to Norton Services my iPhone had weak security, and I was opposed to doing financial work, sending and receiving secure and classified emails, and storing passwords on my iPhone. Nevertheless, I never worry anymore thanks to Norton Services, and I now do all financial transactions, send and receive secure and classified emails, and store passwords on my iPhone without hesitation. I even invest on my iPhone, thanks to Norton Services! There's no other computer security company that I would trust, like I do Norton Symantec Corporation.

Thank you, Norton Symantec Corporation for everything!

No frills, No ads.

NortonAdBlocker, along with other Norton services, delivers exactly what it offers. After having my debit card number hacked I researched all available protection for electronic devices and Norton had the most promising features. Blocks ads extremely well, I just wish the parent manager app was more straightforward to use because it is NOT user friendly. Everything else in my 360 premium plan is excellent. I had another popular name brand “M” antivirus program years ago and it slowed down everything. Norton doesn’t slow down my devices at all. I sincerely hope that Norton will invest in all of their apps to improve/combine/discontinue the apps that are redundant. It would help with ease of use and eliminate confusion in which apps are necessary to install and which ones are premium features.

Absolutely great!

Ads personally pester me, especially on Safari. When this is enabled, however, those annoying little banners and pop-ups that appear while loading and/or after the page being browsed is loaded, are gone; plus, on the pages I visit, the places where the ads were are not visible and are instead filled with the content of the page. Let’s say you’re reading an article on Safari; you won’t be seeing where the ads once were, and instead you will be seeing the title of and/or the words of the article itself. This is overall a very good app and I recommend it to anyone that ads tend to pester. Great job Norton!

So far so good

I haven’t had this ad blocker for very long so I can’t give the most thorough review. But like I said in the title, so far so good. I haven’t seen any pop up ads. There are sites that I have to have pop ups for school. So I added them under the sites to allow pop-ups, Which was an easy thing to navigate. Pop-up blockers I’ve used in the past it’s very difficult to find where to add allowable sites, but this one was really easy. Once I make sure that those can come through I’ll either keep it a five star rating or change it if it doesn’t allow them through.

Working Great, So Far!

I’m still in the first week of using NortonAdBlocker, but it seems to be working beautifully. My iPhone browsing experience was being ruined by infuriating pop up ads (“Congratulations! You’ve won... etc), and by other, more traditional, ads that blocked pages I was trying to read. I’ve seen no pop ups since installing NortonAdBlocker . In fact, my browsing experience is virtually ad free! Also, I haven’t noticed NortonAdBlocker causing any disruption with loading other apps or trying to block legitimate pages (news sites, for example). So far, I’m a fan!

Thumbs Up.

Very pleased. Always a little leery of apps due to adding bugs or just working poorly. This actually does what it says without adding issues to my phone. No stinking annoying constant ads interrupting basically everything. Can actually watch videos and read articles without constant ads popping up. It’s actually kind of funny because a lot of the sites will flash “ turn off your ad blocker” for a second before it continues with what I’m looking at. I’m now thinking of trying Norton for full on security for my phone.

Functionality 5 stars, transparency 2 stars

TLDR: it works, but beware of potential for data collection.

NortonAdBlocker really works, blocking annoying video ads etc. while browsing.

However, I worry that an app that filters all of my web browsing is collecting that data, Norton does nothing to disabuse you of that notion. The end user agreement is full of holes allowing for surveillance and data collection. The FAQ makes no representations. And the website makes meaningless, vague, assertions about data privacy. Apple does claim to limit NortonAdBlocker ’s ability to collect data, but I am unsure how it can make/enforce that promise on the backend.

Highly recommend!

Sort and Simple.. I am a newbie to NortonAdBlocker, but it was Incredibly easy to set up and forget about it! Blocks ads at bottom of screen, ads that pop up and cover most of the screen, insisting you sign up or divert to another site.. before you can read what you came to the site to read. It’s simply great. It does what an ad blocker is supposed to do. No graphs telling you how wonderful NortonAdBlocker is because it has blocked 14 million ads in the last 32 minutes or any other “Look at Me” bull. Just does it’s thing, and does it VERY WELL.

Annoying PopUps

Just got my new IPad. The issue was that every time I used safari, or any other search engine, there was tons of ads popping up all over the screen, on the header bars, side bar, and in the webpage itself. I could not search for anything without having to close out stupid ads. Used a couple of other ad blocker apps that were useless. But hey, what do you expect for free. So I ran across NortonAdBlocker and, “WOOO-WOOO-WHOOP”, the ads are all gone. Best app for add blocking that I found. I would recommend NortonAdBlocker to anyone that would be willing to use it.

The Best

Thank you so much for saving my sanity..I had almost given up trying to read the news or look at articles before my son installed NortonAdBlocker for me, I was desperate,I'm serious,I had enough. I was going to give my iPad to my grandson, I couldn't get anything that was legible, that wasn't covered in ads. It makes my laugh now when I look at certain things and they say sorry you have ad blocker on,and they tell me to turn it off and I am elated and say sorry your not worth reading if that's the way I have to do it. I will NEVER turn it off

It works and it's free

The ads have gotten out of control. I didn't mind it so much (everyone needs to make a living) until I couldn't do anything without getting the pop-up ads saying I'd won an iPhone and forcing me to either click the super spammy/phishing ad or shut down NortonAdBlocker I was using. I have not gotten one of those ads since I added this ad block app. I hate to deny ad revenue to all content producers because of some who let their ad networks not have standards, but these are the times in which we live.

Kill autoplay videos add

Ads aren’t necessarily bad since they are a source of funding to operate your favorite websites. But those video ads that autoplay just pisses me off. Especially when they are loud and obnoxious. That’s what drove me to download NortonAdBlocker.

This ad blocker app did the job beautifully. Blocked all the videos and ads. Just to satisfy my paranoia, I doubled checked the offending sites on another device. Sure enough the ads were there. Very happy with Norton.

So so

While this does block many ads, there are two things which is is utterly horrible with: blocking ads that mute the music on my phone; and, it’s “exceptions” list. With the former, probably 2/3 of The websites that I stumble upon have an ad that pauses/mutes my music, whether or not its audio then starts to play. With the latter, I have lost count of the number of websites with a prompt that asks me to add their website to my adblocker app. Upon doing so, no amount of refreshed ever makes those websites load properly.

The bottom line, i think, is that there isn’t much competition in regards to effective as blockers, thus giving Norton essentially zero incentive to make their product better.

Does not block ads anymore

I have been using Norton ad blocker for a long time now. At least 3 years I believe. At first it was great. Most ads were blocked. No ads forcing safari to redirect to another website trying to add software to your phone.
Well about a year ago ads started creeping in. And in the past few months NortonAdBlocker blocks zero ads. The strange issue is that websites ads show, pop up, redirect and everything else while you still see website say your using an adblocker.
Sadly Norton has become a complete joke with NortonAdBlocker and I doubt Norton will do anything to fix it.
Very sad since I use Norton for virus protection and love it.

Thank you

I understand why sites have advertisements... however, I absolutely refuse to deal with ads that pop up, block my entire screen, and sometimes never allow me to close out of it.
NortonAdBlocker is amazing for this. I’m fine with regular ads mixed in with articles but the ones that block my entire screen? Whatever it is - I vow never to buy that product even if it was something I had intended to buy due to the inconvenience.

That might seem very petty (it probably is) but in all honesty: if companies believe blocking my entire page with their ad will make me go ‘oh my god, I’m so glad this ad is blocking my screen and not letting me view any content, I have to show my buyer’s appreciation and purchase this immediately!’ They’re idiots.

Thank you for NortonAdBlocker, never had any problems with it.

This works!!!

Wow I have been getting lots of Ads prior to finding this amazing free app! I decided to give it a try and it was very easy to setup and just works! The same news sites or webpages I visited just prior to getting NortonAdBlocker was loaded with ads, after installing NortonAdBlocker, not 1 ad on the same sites! Works perfectly and I highly recommend you try it for yourself! Thank you developers!! I will be using all of your products!!

Ok but page loading issue.

App works but has issue that they have their own advertisement packs with many companies that’s fine but look at their search provider. It’s more like one need Adblock for their own Norton home enabled on any browser.
Second on safari iOS whenever I have enabled NortonAdBlocker, when I start typing and hit enter the first response I get is after hitting enter blank weird page saying no results found. That possibly because norton is just coming it way and safari can’t load the search results. Norton must fix it. Also my phone battery was draining very fast after installing it.

Time (& Sanity) Saver

This is the first app review I've been inspired to write in YEARS.

Having spent an inordinate amount of time TRYING to find ways to read CONTENT without being inundated by ads that occupy 75% of the screen – NortonAdBlocker FINALLY puts an end to the redundant, obnoxious SCREEN-HOGGING ads that clutter the screen. THANK YOU for creating NortonAdBlocker!

CAVEAT: I have encountered sites that require the ad blocker to be disabled in order to access content. Whaaa? NO WAY! I'll get the information from another source.

Thank You!

My computer was constantly getting pop up adds, on an Iphone the x close ad box was impossible to touch. The ads were for things that no one would or should buy, and definitely did not apply to me. Some were inappropriate and insulting. Even better- to stop seeing the ad, I had to go through a questionnaire process with no option to reply "leave me alone". This has worked so far!!!! Yay!!!
