Get Pricing Info for Outback SteakhouseI stopped by Outback Steakhouse, Cortez Rd, Bradenton Fl, for lunch. I had already had a rotten morning and just wanted a nice, peaceful, quiet an delicious lunch. Was that too much to ask? The hostess was on a private call so I had to wait to be seated. It was very cold in the dining area but the waitress was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the sirloin steak and Alice Springs chicken, baked potato, salad and blooming onion. The blooming onion still had the skin on the lower portion and was way overcooked so the paprika was very bitter. There was hardly any butter and sour cream in the baked potato. And then there was the steak...there was a vein of gristle running through it that was so thick I was able to eat maybe a third of a 6 oz. steak. and the top was burnt and crusty-dry. They didn't even try to hide it by serving it burnt side down. The chicken had a ton of cheese but only a few (maybe 4) mushroom slices on it. The waitress did credit me back for the onion. Sad to see Outback joining the rest of the restaurants cutting back on the quality of food and service. I would give it a minus 5 star rating but the waitress a 5 star.
May 3, 2023 Worst dinner ever Tonight I had dinner at Outback Restaurant in Clairemont Square in San Diego, CA. We took our daughter-in-law out to dinner for her birthday. There were 5 in our party. To begin with-our server was very unfriendly. Second, the Blooming Onion we ordered was very oily and greasy. Second, My husband ordered the salmon and baked potato. The potato and salad were okay but the salmon was terrible. Over cooked and no taste and NOT cheap. Third, I ordered your new strawberry salad which was just ok-more greens than strawberries.. I also ordered grilled asparagus. When it came, it was overcooked and very limp. It was not edible. Our waiter said that the asparagus was grilled in the morning and than heated up. What are you thinking-doing that!!!! He took it back and brought another plate and this time it was edible but it was cold. The waiter should have taken it off the bill. Fourth- since it was my daughter-in-laws birthday, she got a free dessert All it was was vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup splattered on top. Not a very nice dessert!!! Fifth-the restaurant was dark and dingy. Not very welcoming. Needless to say, we will not be returning to eat at Outback!!! Rosalind Thomas
My rewards points are showing in the negative and I should have had a reward by now. The bartender told me to contact support. Thanks

The server was great so was the food! Then we go to use the app and then the evening went right into the rapper!! It wouldn’t work for my husband on his phone. So this was a royal pain for me because he is an IT guy that knows what he’s doing, unlike me who has no idea of what’s going on 95% of the time. I get to sit here with the ap not working ( and that’s frustrating as it is). He is explaining that - 1 it’s slow, 2 2 it’s can’t scan the card , 3 would not complete the payment, 4 kept flashing an error so fast you can’t read it, By this time I am remembering the pre dinner issue that should have tipped me off- they ALWAYS say you have no wait even when it’s 25 to 30 minutes. If you can get the app to be more efficient then I will not have to worry about the last item- after it tried to process the transaction several times- I now get to wait until Monday to see if it went thru on his phone 4 times or not. I do know it was paid on mine and is ok on my end. Let’s see if you can get your crap together...thank you for your attention and future correction of these issues.

Don’t trust the app for making dinner plans! I checked the wait time for my local OB and it showed 5-15 minutes, so I proceeded to add my party to the wait list. Got everything confirmed and the app directed me to show up at 6:45. Arrived at restaurant at 6:45 and was told we’re all checked in now so go wait in the car... it should only be another 15-20 minutes. Wait!?!? The app said wait time was 5-15 and it confirmed my arrival for 6:45. It’s now going up towards 7:30 as I write this and we’re still waiting.
The app clearly conveys the message that you have a preselected reservation time, but that’s definitely not the case. I’m not sure how the app helped at all actually. Seems I’d be in the same spot if i had just walked in.
I’ll be deleting the app now and dining elsewhere next time. It’s honestly more frustrating for me to be lied to about wait times in the app than if I had just walked in and they told me it would be an hour wait!!

Outback’s app update removed the stupid useless waitlist , which really was of no benefit at all anyway - as none of the waitstaff ever acknowledged its use. I always got seated after the party who walked in, in front of me. At least it gave an idea of the wait time- now, NOTHING!
The app is now only made for mobile ordering, which has became popular since the China Virus outbreak. It’s so popular that basically the restaurant no linger seems to care about their customers in the actual restaurant.
If I don’t have an app to check wait times, then I won’t even bother with Outback as a choice of where to go eat. Frankly, this restaurant used to be popular during the 90’s and seemed to have survived unlike a lot of other ones from the 90’s. Seems like just another legacy restaurant - sorta like iHop.
