جلال الدین محمد بلخی معروف به مولوی و مولانا و رومی۶ ربیع الاول ۶۰۴ بلخ یا وخش، ۵ جمادی الثانی ۶۷۲ هجری قمری قونیه، ۱۵ مهر ۵۸۶، ۴ دی ۶۵۲ هجری شمسی، از مشهورترین شاعران ایرانی تبار پارسی گوی است نام کامل وی «محمد ابن محمد ابن حسین حسینی خطیبی بکری بلخی» بوده و در دوران حیات به القاب «جلال الدین»، «خداوندگار» و «مولانا خداوندگار» نامیده می شده است.
در قرن های بعد (ظاهراً از قرن ۹) القاب «مولوی»، «مولانا»، «مولوی رومی» و «ملای رومی» برای وی به کار رفته است و از برخی از اشعارش تخلص او را «خاموش» و «خَموش» و «خامُش» دانسته اند.
زبان مادری وی پارسی بوده است.
