Good Eggs - Grocery Delivery Reviews

Good Eggs refuses to provide nutrition facts even when they’re available. They list the ingredients for people who have allergies which is great, but they do not photograph the nutrition label so people like me with medical conditions can’t easily determine what’s safe to consume (I have to monitor levels of various nutrient components). I have written to them a few times about this over the ~5 years I’ve been a customer and I always get the same response, “we don’t provide that now but maybe someday.” Because they could easily provide the info, it is a choice on their part not to, and I find this frustrating and not inclusive of people who need this information to make informed purchasing decisions. It seems like this would improve their business since a lot of the items they offer are off the beaten path, so nutrition facts help people decide if they want to try new products. Please prioritize including nutrition facts!

This service is amazing. To all those people leaving bad reviews bc OF THE WAY GoodEggs WORKS ON THIER iPAD, get a life. I’ve used the service for 6 months and they’ve done an amazing job. Yes, I order off the website and not my phone, but that should be the least of these people’s concerns.

• My priority is the product itself. The vegetables and meats are clearly fresh and vibrant.

• Constant updates on seasonal produce and meat options. Huge selection (juices, dairy, fish, snacks, sauces) of local brands, farms, snacks and other items like Good Eggs sauces and cut vegetables (I suggest you learn to use a knife properly but in a pinch their products could save you time.)

• Offer organic options as well as items for those with allergies.

• Beer and wine!

• You pick a pick up window of 2 hours for hour delivery. Yes, they have been late before. Yes, it’s inconvenient, but they are people, and people make mistakes. Life happens. They have always given a professional response and have offered me a credit.

• Always packed properly so nothing is smooshed and perishables are kept cold. And they will take your old delivery boxes and ice packs on the next pick up.

• A small $4 fee for each delivery to give workers a fair wage and (I’m assuming) health care, which I’m more than happy to pay.

I’ve been a customer of this app for a few years now and was thrilled to see that they offered fresh and seasonal produce from local farmers. Since they expanded to meet the needs of Covid-related demand, the produce is no longer as fresh, and it seems like things are often packed without care (eg tomatoes are squashed, eggs cracked), and customer service will often take a month to address any complaints (though they do resolve issues favorably). I am glad that as a company they are thriving, that they pay their workers well, and that they have raised their service fee to ensure their financial future. However, they really need to offer fresh produce.

I had higher hopes for this service as it is very convenient and I appreciate that they support local businesses. However, the quality is very poor for how much you spend. I only included an extra star for the convenience factor. I received two moldy packs of fresh pasta, both which had a different sell by date on the pack than on the sticker and the dates were 2 weeks apart. The carrots in the pictures were typical loose carrots that were long, but I received short carrots that looked like small nubs. The eggs were $9/dozen which is extremely expensive for local eggs, and they expire in 4 days (I boiled them and 2 bursted which shows it’s age). I’ve had better luck buying organic eggs at Target for half the price. I like the idea, but the quality is not worth the price.

I haven’t even placed my 1st order and I am thrilled to learn about Good Eggs! I only wish I had discovered it years ago. Many of my favorite organic staples are available. No more driving, parking, or bumping into other shopping carts due to narrowing of isles. Also so much safer during flu season! Thank you! Leslie

If you’re lucky enough to live in an area that Good Eggs currently serves, you’ve got to give them a try!! I like them far better than any other meal service I’ve tried or researched. You don’t have to subscribe. Just get on and order a meal whenever you like. If you get groceries as well, you likely won’t need to pay the delivery fee. We love their food and the opportunity to support local farms. GoodEggs works great and the people at this app have been really responsive whenever I reach out. Thank you, this app!

I used to dread grocery shopping. Especially after discovering I am corn intolerant. Corn is in nearly everything you buy, over 180 additives and preservatives are derived from corn, and I react poorly to most. I would scour grocery stores for something that was grass fed AND grass finished, coming up empty handed nearly everywhere. Then I saw a Good Eggs box on a neighbor's porch. Thanks to the careful consideration of the Good Eggs procurement team, I am no longer afraid of food. I am eating delicious meals with ingredients delivered to my doorstep.

One of my fav apps on my iphone. I love the way that GoodEggs is set up in that you can search by keyword, category, etc. If the product you are looking for is on GoodEggs , you’ll find it. It’s also super easy to modify the quantities in your cart or remove/delete items. I can order my groceries for the entire week in about 15 minutes while sitting on my couch using my phone. Welcome to the future.

I love good eggs, but the redesigned app is a step backwards. It has traded speed and usability for a fresh coat of paint, and is an inferior experience.

There are frequent data and connection issues (none of which happened before), and searching and adding items takes longer. When searching and adding, why have a banner appear at the top that blocks the search UI, forcing a user to wait for it to clear before searching again? What happened to Apple Pay? Why does my basket have items in it, as noted by the UI, but show as empty when I try to load it?

Good Eggs is a great service, and a few initial bugs from the redesign seem to have been fixed. But the core issues remain, and it’s currently one of my most used-yet-least enjoyable apps.

Fingers crossed the team can remedy these issues, and bring back the speed and reliability of the old version.

Love GoodEggs ! I have so much fun shopping for food now with the high quality pictures and the search bar. I especially like the "new and in season" tab. I do wish it was easier to view the order you've just placed. Also it is annoying how often they remind you that you have items in your cart- at least once a day via email and notification each.

At about 2:48pm (+- 2 mins) on June 13, 2021 I was cycling on Haight in SF between Scott and Pierce when a Good Eggs van parked on the side of the road abruptly pulled into traffic cutting me off. At Haight and Pierce he stopped at a red light. He had no turn signal on so I assume he intended to continue straight on Haight. I told him to watch where he was going. I then turned right on Pierce to continue my ride. The Good Eggs van then pursued me for several blocks honking repeatedly. I think I lost him around Duboce Ave but I did not stop to check. I don’t see any possibility of me using Good Eggs in the future. Deleting GoodEggs now.

Good Eggs delivers the freshest most delicious foods. It’s like eating “farm to table” every day. We love their meal kits which are easy and delicious to prepare as well as some of their other pre-made salads, etc. The portions are also pretty generous. Even though some of the meal kits say 3-4 servings we can often stretch these by adding extra veggies or protein. Lastly, the ease of ordering and scheduling delivery times is what keeps us coming back to Good Eggs.

On the things that matter:

Selection: At times really nice, other times astonishing that they lack standard items.

Delivery: Lacks precision in delivery timing and tracking. In 2018 on-demand everything this is no better than Webvan.

Pricing: The premium on pricing is just that. Generally acceptable but at times exploitative. Especially for single/small items.

Minimum purchase for free delivery: This has been the most frustrating aspect. With a draft order waiting for an item to be back in stock, I logged in today to find the minimum order fee was doubled from $35 to $70! There was no email or notification, just a switch without notice to a far higher price hurdle. Really poor form by good eggs. Seems like the customer-friendly Marketing messaging and Experience is a departure from the product itself.

The old app interface was not perfect but it was at least usable. GoodEggs is slow. Also, the new interface is buggy, has graphical elements overlapping with each other, and generally makes it more difficult to find the things I want to order. The view with all my previously ordered items in the old version made it easy to reorder my favorite items without having to explicitly mark every item. I would have liked it to deduplicate previously ordered items to make it more useful.

I order almost all of my groceries from Good Eggs. GoodEggs makes it easy and I know the food will be high quality. I love that most products are local. The customer service is also outstanding! The rare instances there were any issues with my order they were accessible and went above and beyond to make it right.

The price is surprisingly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. We enjoy the meal kits, and normally add some other groceries to our order as well. It’s VERY rare for there to be an issue with a delivery, but the few times it has happened customer service has been extremely helpful and generous.

What a great way to support fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Plus there are tips and facts in description that help you learn and figure how how to cook something new! As a mother with a young child, this helps a ton when groceries are delivered right to your door. Also, the customer service is great when things are not quite right. How can you NOT try it?

Just called support because one of my items was damaged (first time this has happened) and they not only answered immediately, they refunded me for the item and gave me a credit for my next order. I couldn’t be happier with the local products available on GoodEggs and great service!

Love Good Eggs. Minor but annoying issue while shopping and checking what you already have in your cart: flipping between tabs should not take you all the way back to the top of the page. Please fix 🙏🏼

Good Eggs sometimes gets it right, but for the most part, expect to receive meat and produce teetering (or fully past) its expiration date. This is especially egregious around the holidays. I strongly suggest you do not rely on them for anything mission critical for your holiday plans, because you probably won’t get it and, if you do, it will be quite expired. This has happened to me two holiday seasons in a row.

This service is almost my ideal grocery delivery service. I love some of the products that are local and/or organic. I’ve discovered some great foods thanks to Good Eggs! When the service works well, it’s almost magical.

I also like that deliveries are in a box, with cold packs. That way if I’m not home, the refrigerated and frozen food shouldn’t go bad for at least a couple hours. Overall GoodEggs works very well. I love that I can pay with Apple Pay. Nice, clear photos, although photos of the nutrition labels would be helpful.

There is room for improvement. First is a minor one... the iPad app can’t do landscape mode. The selection could be bigger. Another issue has been on-time delivery. Also, customer service took over a week to get back with me about an order issue; although, I realize it’s an extremely busy time at the moment. I also had an order completely cancelled on me that I had scheduled days in advance, when I would have at least preferred it rescheduled. That was a big letdown. Although again, it’s due to extraordinary busy times, so that’s worth considering.

I’m going to be upfront - this is a great app for quarantine but I don’t see myself continuing this service long term. This is a great spot to find specialty oddball items for a treat but everything is very expensive in my opinion & I am not impressed with the produce at all.

The dinner kits have been so fantastic- I don’t trust restaurants or other box services to have high integrity ingredients, but I was addicted to Good Eggs before dinner kits and now they’re a no brainer for feeding my family. GoodEggs is actually really beautiful and convenient, I love that I can subscribe now and save on weekly staples.

I love love love good eggs. I hardly ever write any reviews but I just gotta express my appreciation. From product selection to its delivery service, good eggs has instantly won my heart. Their meat selection is superb & super fresh (perfect for an easy dinner-date at home), and they have a wide selection of local products!
