android translator wont translate typed text

The text is repeating, with partial messages appearing which are then followed by more complete messages. The end result is a stream of boxes - some with partial messages, and then a final one with a more complete message. It is hard to read. I tried de-activating the "show partial messages" and the result to this was a series of grey boxes without text - it is still difficult to follow.

Keeps saying, error establishing a secure connection, your device clock may be wrong. Have checked this and also reinstalled with no luck

It was a great App translating from camera, but no longer works. Every time I try, the output is “unable to translate”.
