I wholeheartedly believe in this company, as I purchased the Kickstarter Teleprompter and noticed that it came with ParrotTeleprompter, which was very convenient. I’m giving us a one star review due to the fact of the massive inconvenience that I have to go through by turning off and on my phone. Sometimes I need to edit something in the middle of recording, and when I stop to go back into ParrotTeleprompter to fix a word, the keyboard goes unavailable for all apps… at first, I thought it was a glitch so I looked for updates and sure enough nothing has changed.
I know the company has worked very hard at developing their Teleprompter, but they need to put equal amount of work into their app. I do like ParrotTeleprompter and the convenience, especially with the remote however this is beyond annoying and I really hope that they get to fixing this as soon as possible with a nice update…

I use my Teleprompter weekly for my real estate videos and my self motivational videos and time is money so Parrett needs to get their stuff together please so I can continue enjoying their products. I will update my review when this gets fixed.

In the middle of working on a script, for over an hour, ParrotTeleprompter just deleted the script without prompt or notice. ParrotTeleprompter didn’t even quit… it just deleted my script and lost all my work.

Deleting ParrotTeleprompter and looking for a trustworthy teleprompter app, because Parrot is not it.

ParrotTeleprompter was amazing. Especially since its free, had no ads and worked well. Key word though, “was”.

About 3/4 weeks ago, they rolled out an update that “modernized” the way ParrotTeleprompter looked. The design was still the same, but functionality and buttons were moved around. That’s fine, whatever. The issue was that it broke support for ALL Bluetooth remotes. Absolutely none of the presenter remotes I had worked anymore.

They released an update that fixed that problem, but there’s still a major issue that when I click the scroll up button 6 times in a row, it backs out of the script I’m reading into the Home Screen of ParrotTeleprompter . To prevent it, I have to click up 5 times, pause for 3 seconds, then repeat til I scroll up as high as I need to.

On top of that, I can’t hold the scroll up or down button anymore to scroll infinitely. I can only single tap.

Garbage updates. I wish I could download older versions and go to a version that’s 2 months old or so. Developers (if you even read these), do yourselves a favor and rollback the updates to the version you had before you broke remote support, and you’ll see your rating go from 2.1 back to the high 3’s and even 4.

Won’t sync with DropBox no matter what I try. Junk. Steer clear. Teleprompter apps shouldn’t be this bad.

Mirror mode reverses the menu text, and your keyboard is gone on all apps after using it.

I bought this Teleprompter kit for $99 and now I’m using ParrotTeleprompter and I copied my script from Notes and pasted into ParrotTeleprompter and it will not save it just disappears after I click on the save button at the bottom of ParrotTeleprompter it’s very disappointed that I cannot save my carpet scraps from somewhere else to ParrotTeleprompter somehow it keeps save it to my dropbox app but I’m on able to pull my Script inside ParrotTeleprompter ! If I type a word or sentence it will save with no problem but pasting long scripts doesn’t work! ParrotTeleprompter is useless to me! I need to find another app that will work with the setup and the remote hopefully better than this! Whoever has posted a good review please share with our iPhone users what the solution is to this problem!! Disappointed mannn!! I just want to be great man!

ParrotTeleprompter is great when it works, but so frustrating when it doesn't (which is most of the time).

The "New Script" page almost always gets stuck. Sometimes after a few minutes of being frozen it will suddenly become useable, sometimes it never does.

Received my podcaster pro today and was excited to download ParrotTeleprompter …or not.

Keyboard stops working when the remote is attached.

Autoscroll only no voice recognition. I only use the teleprompter for for quotes, the rest is off the cuff. My other app starts scrolling again when I read the next quote and then stops when I do back to free speech, trines and repeat.

If they fix these two items I will use ParrotTeleprompter and update my review.

Being able to pull from something like google drive would also be helpful since all my scripts are there. Copy and paste from my Mac to the phone is effortless though and not a big deal.

Sync drop box. Have no idea about to upload the files. Look for instructions but are t any. Crazy

I’ve had the Parrot Teleprompter app for over a year now. Was working pretty well (with remote) with my iPhone. But last few months the software has been “buggy” (best way to describe). Similar to what others have reported (script jumping to beginning when using remote to scroll back a few lines). As well as copy/paste functions reformatting my scripts (spaces and line breaks removed). Some other bugs as well when trying to edit script in app. Did notice a new vs release (vs 2.2.4) came out in feb 2021. I’m going to try the newest version but ParrotTeleprompter has been so buggy lately I just can’t recommend. Also, just tested newest release (vs 3.0.1 released Nov. 22, 2021) and still buggy. Did delete/reinstall and when editing scripts the prompt jumps to top of page . Editing on iPhone 7 Plus (current vs IOS 15.1).

I can’t paste my text into the script. There is literally no paste option. The paste popup won’t appear. So annoying.

I use the parrot for several video productions and it works great! However I've encountered an annoying bug on ParrotTeleprompter . I am unable to save scripts! I tap the floppy disk icon and get no response. This issue started when I upgraded to the iphone 7. Parrot is great for small production studios like my own and I want to see them innovate and succeed.

Would like to be able to use the storage service of my choice. I don’t use Dropbox and will never use Dropbox as they are insecure.

UI is clean but out of date, would love a revamp.

Shortcut actions would be great for adding new scripts or have them suggested the day of a project and things like that.

Add a donation button or subscription or something so we can help support the development of ParrotTeleprompter .

ParrotTeleprompter achieves its purpose pretty well. Great, affordable set up (with hardware) and easy to navigate app.

I film a lot of videos for work and use this to display every script.

That being said, ParrotTeleprompter has LITERALLY the most annoying bug I’ve ever seen with an app.

Everytime I use it (literally every single time), the moment I’m done filming a script in parrot, my keyboard for my phone disappears!!!

I can’t get it back without restarting my whole phone, it’s INSANE. almost willing to pay triple not to deal with this glitch.

Would be 5 star if it weren’t for that.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this.

We really need one drive support on ParrotTeleprompter for business users. Some business won’t allow Dropbox to be utilized without scrutiny.

Please! Add one drive support.

I’ve used Parrot 2 for several years now. I’m an actor and i use it for auditions that are direct to camera, like host, spokesperson or newscaster roles.
When ParrotTeleprompter is up to date and not bugged out from the latest iOS update it’s the best prosumer teleprompter on the market. $80 for a super portable setup that comes with the killer feature you don’t realize is a must-have if you’re new to teleprompting— a remote control. It is a system, though. The remote only works with the (free!) Parrot app which is awesome when it’s working properly and absolutely maddening when it isn’t. 2021 Q3-4 the developers updated ParrotTeleprompter monthly on average. As a result it is working well, I am happy again, and so it’s only fair to update my review from 1-star to 4.
Have to leave a star off for the limited range of filter ring sizes that come with the system. (A filter ring is a device that screws onto the front of your camera and allows you to anchor the Parrot teleprompter hardware to the camera.) I had to buy a 43-52mm “Step-up Adapter Ring” (*make a note of that phrase, you may very well need it) to get the teleprompter anchored to my camcorder (Canon Vixia). My friend has a Canon DSLR and had to buy an adapter to fit her zoom lens. Seriously?! Of all the filter ring sizes you choose to include with the system you leave out the right size for Canon camcorders and DSLR lenses? What a small, crucial oversight. It’s like ordering IKEA furniture and after hours of confusion realizing there’s 1 piece missing that makes assembly impossible. Why would you set your customers up to fail like that?? This one frustrating lack of attention to detail aside, the Parrot is great and I recommend it.

ParrotTeleprompter saves the day! I was using the Desview app and constantly having to apologize to on-screen talent for formatting errors. It would randomly separate words, with no way to correct. I was also having issues with the iPhone keyboard disappearing when I’d use ParrotTeleprompter . IYKYK. I stumbled upon ParrotTeleprompter and was immediately impressed that it handled text and formatting flawlessly! However, the keyboard still disappeared once I started controlling ParrotTeleprompter with my Bluetooth remote. I eventually figured out the real issue. The iPhone thinks that the Bluetooth remote is an external keyboard, so it hides the on screen one. This is no fault of ParrotTeleprompter . Simply disable Bluetooth or turn off remote temporarily, when text edits are needed.

ParrotTeleprompter has a basic teleprompter with mirroring free of charge. Love it.

I must've gone through seven or eight Teleprompter apps. All I wanted was a demo that offered mirror mode and adjustable speed before I decided on spending $15. But the parrot offered me everything I needed and more. Adjustable timing, adjustable margins, adjustable text size, and it even includes mirror mode for no charge. I was looking for some way to buy ParrotTeleprompter but I was unable to find one. Let that be a lesson to the rest of appmakers - let people try the full version for free and there are plenty of people who are willing to pay you. ParrotTeleprompter is rock-solid and it's all I need. Great job to the developers. Let me know if there's a paid version. I'd be happy to buy this.

Update: the good people behind ParrotTeleprompter actually took the time to ask what the issues I was having were. Whether it was my feedback or someone else’s, ParrotTeleprompter is working wonderfully, again. I use it and the remote with my iPhone integrated with Dropbox and it works like a charm. Best phone-based teleprompter app I’ve used.
