white writers?

2026-03-15

by Cc9291abb

I’m guessing the writers are all white and they didn’t consult people of color at all while writing them, because Asian people have last names... as their first names? Someone’s called “chang chang” which doesn’t even make sense in Mandarin. If you nickname someone, you do it by their first name. Chang is a last name. It’s basically the equivalent of the racist phrase of “ching chong” or how J.K. Rowling named her Asian character “Cho Chang” (which again, makes no sense in any Asian language). It would literally take a 1 minute conversation with anyone Chinese to figure this out. Also, every time someone is Asian, the writers point out their “Asiatic” features and how Asian they are/their language is unintelligible blabbering, compared to the perfectly translated or written forms of French. You use Asian characters but don’t want to make any effort into displaying the language and mentioning anything past how Asian we look - while putting in more effort into your white characters and languages? And also you compare our country’s severe drug addiction caused by the British and minimize it into something that a cup of hot chocolate can solve.

The one black hero in “Heroes Were Lost” turns into a bloodthirsty monster halfway through (which plays into another racist stereotype of making black people the violent ones or the criminals). Harriet Tubman is also the only character that gets excited about killing people in “Souls Were Eaten”. Y’all white writers need to be aware of your stereotypes and racism when writing this stuff about us POC. This is just sad.

You can’t reread past lines

2026-03-16

by ILOVETIMBURTONHEISAGENIUS

In my opinion this is a huge fundamental flaw with this game. I feel like for a story based game, being able to actually, you know, read the story in full as you’ve progressed so far. If this was a paper book in front of you, it’s like every time you finish a page it burns up and you can never read that page again. Except in the case of this game instead of even every page it’s nearly every sentence. This is a huge problem for maintaining continuity and context who pick this game up for short sessions over time. And I get it, you guys probably did it to get people to want to keep playing for long periods of time, and therefore spend money to keep being able to make decisions and progress the story.

But the way it’s set up now it’s hostile to the free players. It’s also inaccessible. For people who have cognitive issues or other neurodivergences and can’t always recall or maintain the focus needed to make the choices they wanted to without having all the rest of the story available to them, it’s nearly unplayable.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to create a setting that players can toggle on or off to able to read the story thus far, come on, you can do it

And Then There Were Ads

2026-03-17

by Oh.kee.dokie

Don’t get me wrong I fully understand and support the use of ads so developers can make money. In fact, I appreciate the option to watch ads to earn tickets to progress in the story. However, there’s an ad after almost 2-3 clicks. I thought purchasing the 100 tickets would stop but I still get the frequent ads which is annoying because I can’t get I got the feel of the story. I want to give it a higher rating bc the atmosphere and story are so good! The fact that Moti can appear on my Apple Watch is so immersive and makes me really feel a part of the adventure. I suggest they either choose a better time to show the ads (ie in between arcs or during slow moments of the story) or give an option to pay for no ads (which I will gladly do!!). I sincerely hope they take this into consideration bc I love everything about this game except for the ads 🥲
