The BEST Database, look no further.

Yes, this is one of the BEST!
I’ve been a Ninox user for over a year and I’m amazed at what can be accomplished with Ninox. I’ve personally built a cloud based construction bid system with Ninox and I’m currently expanding it to handle inventory management. I’ve seen others do even large database projects. For those who are unfamiliar with databases, it might seem a little hard to figure out at first. Yes, I’ll admit that the manual might be a little lacking and hard to understand without prior knowledge but there are other alternatives. The value in the free weekly Webinars easily makes up for the manual (sign up through the support page on the company’s website). At the Webinars, you can bring your issues directly up to the pros and other users who may have similar issues. There are also additional Webinars which you’ll learn about and loads of additional templates available when part of the Webinar group. Most companies would charge you extra for such features. The company listens to it’s users and creates more value with each revision. If you are looking for a database look no further, you found it. See you in the Webinar!

Works well and great support

I spent years developing big Access databases with SQL backend. I like Access so that makes me a little odd but Ninox is doing a good job. I switched to Mac and never liked my options until this. I sculpt and update from my phone, add photos and then later may use the Mac for some work, printing inventory etc. Recently found a bug in navigation and the folks in Germany had it fixed in 48 hours. If I read the manual I would likely love it more but I am busy sculpting.

Hard to learn

I have been using FileMaker Pro for over 20 years, and after reading the review on Ninox and seeing so many people remark about how they like Ninox as much as FileMaker, I decided to try it. I have spent many hours trying to understand this database, and thus far it has been nothing but frustrating. Having said that, my negative rating of NinoxDatabase isn’t based so much on the capabilities of NinoxDatabase because I have no idea what it can do; my review is mostly based on how hard it is to make any sense of NinoxDatabase. I have read the so-called “Manual” and the very first thing it says is “The best way to learn about Ninox is by trying.” The rest of the “Manual” is as useless as that first line. Hot garbage. So now, my $1600 Apple computer is sitting here bored while I use my 9-year-old piece of crap hp laptop because that’s where my FileMaker Pro software is and learning Ninox doesn’t seem to be worth the effort.

Shockingly bad compared to the iPad version

I am a HUGE fan of the iPad app, it’s literally the ONLY fully featured database/no-code app out there on iOS. It’s literally everything I could have hoped for; so I built out a whole system and was so excited to use it. When I downloaded the iPhone app so that I could use it on both devices, I was shocked to discover that the iPhone app looks like a completely different app, so ugly!

The iPad app is beautiful and pleasant to use. The iPhone app looks like a PowerPoint presentation from 1993 and its a headache to even look at. Using it just hurts.

It’s literally the ONLY reason I went with Clickup/Airtable instead of Ninox. If Ninox can get an iPhone app the looks and feels like the iPad app, so that switching between the two isn’t so jarring, even if it’s limited to essentially data entry, that would be so GREAT.

ought to hit the spot

Great potential with NinoxDatabase. Trying to set up crm, invoice, inventory, contacts, company; there are samples to work with for each and them some. The price is right for me! don’t want to pay alimony to a software database company after it gets set up and running.
The support is via email; and so far very responsive. I still have a lot to learn and set but think I’ll be using it in the new year.
Have tried Bento, Invoice Manager, Peachtree; reviewed Filemaker, Freshbooks, Handbase, dbase, various crms, etc..... this is a best kept secret. just don’t want to flatter too much cuz then they might realize how awesome it is and raise the price.

Works

Heavy user; projects, journals, etc. Used many other apps; each ended with updates that either reconstructed NinoxDatabase (to un-usefulness for me) and / or updated and lost my data (sometimes years of data.)

I have used Ninox for several years; and recently Ninox-ed my stuff from other apps. Why? Dependable. Never lost data. Many strong database features. No subscription unless team usage. Just works and is intuitive.

Not as easy as HanDBase, but I'm liking it better and better!

Simple DBs are a breeze, but NinoxDatabase has a depth to it that is hard to convey in a brief review. I have several bulletproof DBs now running in Ninox and am getting more familiar with a few of its more advanced concepts. Those DBs have now replaced older and more eccentric DBs created using HanDBase. Overall I really like NinoxDatabase. I REALLY like iCloud sync. Works well mostly. The only suggestion I'd make is if it would be possible to indicate visually the iCloud sync status of each DB prior to opening it to ensure that you're using the most recent changes to a DB after switching devices. Right now you have to know what the recent changes were to ensure you're up to date. I'd also like examples and example DBs for ALL of its features, including and especially those using NX Scripting. There are brief descriptions of those, but figuring out how to implement NX scripting commands based on those descriptions is painful. I expect this DB to become better and better over time.

Best Database anywhere

I've been searching the internet for years looking for a customizable order entry program and I was ready to spend over $20k hirIng a FileMaker programmer. I was able to build a complex Database program using Ninox that more than fits my needs. And guess what? I'm a novice, and never took a programming course. To sum it up, this is by far the easiest, simplest and most affordable Database program ever!!!! I highly recommend it.

Weak Mac Interface, Solipsistic Manual

The user interface tends to ignore fundamental Mac conventions. For example, Cmd-W does not close a window, Cmd-M does not minimize, Cmd-Z does not Undo, etc., etc. Worse, the manual seems never to have been tested on anyone who did not already know NinoxDatabase . The writer is substantially writing for himself. On the plus side, the video is clear. Also, NinoxDatabase imported Bento tables smoothly. On balance for other usage, I can't justify spending the time with NinoxDatabase. I have purchased an expensive lesson here, spending $35 for NinoxDatabase and $15 for the upgrade. But I find that Tap Forms is far more usable for my purposes.

First impression

Seems amazingly easy to use. I will be incorporating this into my window cleaning business to manage my clients and my finances and help with my taxes. So far entering customers and linking data from one table to another table is simple. I will leave a second review after I have updated all of my info into the database.

iCloud Sync...allegedly

Single-user sync via iCloud is supposed to be a feature. I can’t get the files to sync reliably, and databases that appear on the desktop app ($35, thank you very much) don’t appear on the iPhone, but those on iPhone sometimes appear on the desktop app.

The developer’s only solution is to sign out of iCloud, reboot, then sign back into iCloud. Doing this once, on one device was silly (and time consuming), so I’m not going to do it on multiple devices.

Why the UI change?

I’ve been using NinoxDatabase for a few years and was very happy. Recently they completely redesigned the layout and UI (iPhone) and not for the better. It is more clunky and less intuitive than the old version. I never would have started using it if the old version was like this. Ugh.

Great Database

Works like a charm love it just wish I could figure out how to put a border around the invoice forms NICE JOB Ninox
Sent an email to ask about the border was answered less than 24 hours with a solution give them a try you won't be sorry

Wonderful

I’m haven’t left many reviews on NinoxDatabase Store, but NinoxDatabase is the Bento replacement I’ve been looking for but on steroids. Somethings are a bit advanced for me, but only if you need to dive into it.

Needs fixes for IPhone XS

Love the product, easy to setup. Recently switched to an iPhone XS though and having a lot of trouble touching commands on the very top or bottom of the screen. For example, tapping ‘create record’ on the bottom left results in either no action or activates the iOS task manager.

Doesn’t start

It used to work great. Put it to good use. Now, since the last update it won’t start.

After updating my iPad version the iPhone version finally started to work. Need to get improve this.

Not Working!

For the last few months NinoxDatabase hasn’t worked in my iPhone. However, it works perfectly on my iPad. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several time and I continue to only get a black screen when launching on my iPhone.

Not for me

I used NinoxDatabase to make database for my father’s iris garden. It was good but didn’t have nice interface for hobbyist. Just looks like inventory list or form. Last update made card view but it is only on iPad not for iPhone or Mac

Excellent, My replacement for Bento

For years I had been looking for a Bento replacement. Here it is! Highly recommended.

Amazing WOW!

Easy to use, easy to deploy!! Was impressed with this apps ability!

Former Bento User

Since FileMaker got rid of Bento and over took it with an expensive version, I could no longer trust them anymore.
Since then I have tried different databases and came across Ninox. Took me a little while to figure it out as I use it for various database projects! I no longer miss Bento, so FileMaker lost a customer, and from what I have seen, many others. That’s what happens with greed! I gave this a five star because I totally enjoy using it now! Great Job Ninox!
Only thing I would like to see is a lock for it. Is their one?
Since many use this for business, I would think their should be. It is worth giving it a five star rating. Try it, you will like it!

Great

Use Ninox at a school for building mechanical map, vehicles, and mowers. It makes my reporting at the end of the month a lot easier. Spend the money for the live subscription. It is worth it.
