Guide to Delete MathTappers: Carbon Choices

Things to note before removing MathTappers:

  1. The developer of MathTappers is Tim Pelton and all inquiries must go to them.
  2. Check the Terms of Services and/or Privacy policy of Tim Pelton to know if they support self-serve account deletion:
  3. Under the GDPR, Residents of the European Union and United Kingdom have a "right to erasure" and can request any developer like Tim Pelton holding their data to delete it. The law mandates that Tim Pelton must comply within a month.
  4. American residents (California only - you can claim to reside here) are empowered by the CCPA to request that Tim Pelton delete any data it has on you or risk incurring a fine (upto 7.5k usd).
  5. If you have an active subscription, it is recommended you unsubscribe before deleting your account or the app.

How to Delete MathTappers: Carbon Choices from your iPhone or Android.


Delete MathTappers: Carbon Choices from iPhone.

To delete MathTappers from your iPhone, Follow these steps:

  1. On your homescreen, Tap and hold MathTappers: Carbon Choices until it starts shaking.
  2. Once it starts to shake, you'll see an X Mark at the top of the app icon.
  3. Click on that X to delete the MathTappers: Carbon Choices app from your phone.

Method 2:

Go to Settings and click on General then click on "iPhone Storage". You will then scroll down to see the list of all the apps installed on your iPhone. Tap on the app you want to uninstall and delete the app.

For iOS 11 and above:

Go into your Settings and click on "General" and then click on iPhone Storage. You will see the option "Offload Unused Apps". Right next to it is the "Enable" option. Click on the "Enable" option and this will offload the apps that you don't use.


Delete MathTappers: Carbon Choices from Android

  1. First open the Google Play app, then press the hamburger menu icon on the top left corner.
  2. After doing these, go to "My Apps and Games" option, then go to the "Installed" option.
  3. You'll see a list of all your installed apps on your phone.
  4. Now choose MathTappers: Carbon Choices, then click on "uninstall".
  5. Also you can specifically search for the app you want to uninstall by searching for that app in the search bar then select and uninstall.

Our this app: Carbon Choices app is designed to help users (middle school students) become more aware of the amount of C02 equivalent (C02e) pollution introduced by some their lifestyle choices. Note, to keep things simple, many sources/choices are not included in this app (e.g., heating/AC, non-food consumables, etc.), rather it is focussing on only a few of the consumption choices that middle school students might typically be making. Users begin by tracking/estimating their consumption over a week in four main areas (showers, entertainment, travel and food). Their impact is then assessed in terms of an estimate of the annualized kg of CO2e generated across those consumption areas.
