Stop ridiculous app charges!

Subscription was charged twice, first 5 dollars, and then additional 50$...even though I am enjoying the app, the biggest fear is that I have sent an app to my friends, and now they are thinking that I scammed them. Any user should be able to unsubscribe and cancel subscription according to his/her preference. Sometimes it isn't about the money it is about the trust, especially when it comes to this kinda of apps. You start trusting the process, and building your habits, and one morning you wake up and see additional charges are being made on your behalf. So much about breaking the chain.
I'm going to echo a lot of the same issues as previous users. Was hoping to find a motivating app, but it just didn't do what I had hoped. A lot of loading screens, and wait time with not that much insight. So I went to cancel the subscription before the 7-day free trial. In the app it showed it was a free plan but I could upgrade. Tried to follow their cancel instructions but the subscription does not show up in my iCloud on my phone. And despite it saying that I have the free version my PayPal account was charged $29.99USD. It still says I have the free version and that I can pay to upgrade to Premium. $30-$60 is an astronomical amount for an app... especially one that makes it so hard to cancel. I have tried to contact them and leave reviews elsewhere with no response. Emailed and DM'ed them through Instagram.
This app preys on people's insecurities, then like so many others out there, makes it impossible to cancel so you don't get charged a premium fee.
I signed up for the free trial, but found it wasn't for me. I mindfully and purposely cancelled the free trial, but now I see a $39.99 USD charge on my checking account. Please reimburse my account and make sure any subscription, which I have not authorized, is cancelled.
THIS APP IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. THEY MAKE IT SOUND LIKE PEOPLE YOU KNOW RECOMMEND IT AND IT’S FREE AND GETS GREAT REVIEWS. LIES. THEY’LL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO CANCEL. THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND CHARGED WITH FRAUD. SCAM.
SCAM! I'm having the exact same problem. I have been trying to get ahold of this company since this time last year.
I cancelled my free subscription, and they charged me 39.99, I couldn't get ahold of them to refund it. I tried emailing, calling, blew up their instagram DMS.. nothing. No response. Then a year later, they charge me 39.99 AGAIN!!!!! When I'm not even subscribed anywhere? What am I supposed to do? I'm just giving a random company 40 dollars a year for the rest of my life I guess???
Fabulous seems either to have an incompetent or an outright deceptive subscription system. I (and based on the app's reviews, many other people) was charged for a yearly subscription after attempting to cancel my free trial within the trial window. The app initially offers users a 7 day free trial when they sign up, but then the app immediately sends them an offer over email for a 30 free trial. When you try signing up for the 30 free trial, the trial subscription simply does not show up on your account. When you go to your account information, it still says you have a 7 day free trial. Now how are you supposed to cancel your trial when it doesn't even register on your account? Well some people seem to be able to cancel it through the google play store if that's where they signed up for the trial, but that doesn't work in my case. I have no idea how to cancel my (now) annual subscription, and the company has terrible customer support so I don't know if I'll even be able to figure out how to cancel it before I'm charged another 40 dollars next year. I don't know if the app's developers are utterly incompetent, or whether they're just dishonest scam artists, but I really hope they fix this problem (a refund would be nice) or get pulled off all the major app stores.
Tried the app a year ago, found it wasn't for me, deleted it. Received a notification today that I've been charged £33 for an annual subscription that I'm preeeetty sure wasn't made clear when I first signed up - I redownloaded the app just to check, and sure enough it had the smallest thing about a premium feature but nothing concrete that warned me I would be charged. I've cancelled both accounts and cancelled the subscriptions, I'm hoping that this will be enough but based on what other people have said about it I doubt it will be that simple. If I don't hear back about a refund from the Google Play store then I'll be opening a dispute with Paypal to get my money back. This is such a cop-out, absolutely a scam, my bank account is now overdrawn.
Double charged and 3 subscriptions - please reimburse and cancel all subscriptions
SCAMWARE — DO NOT INSTALL. For me this app is this big of a scam as others are saying. I found it too basic & not very useful from the get-go as most of what it suggests I’m already doing. Also the interface was annoyingly buggy and it crashed other apps to have on my phone so I deleted it.
Was sent the email referenced by OP above, Jonathan Mitchell. It said I had to click the link IN ORDER TO GET the free seven days.
False. What clicking this so-called confirmation link did, was sign me up for ANOTHER subscription.
I tried to cancel the 7 day free trial within three days, but there was no way to cancel, even when directed by Support to do this or that in one of my several calls to them (when you still could call), none of it worked.
I was on the phone and in the ticket system to Support over several days trying to end this nightmare. I had one subscription that never showed up anywhere for a seven day free trial, and another apparently that I had signed up for by clicking on what was represented as a “confirm” link for the freebie.
Support finally told me to cancel the subscription at PayPal and then REMOVE that email from my PayPal account so there would be no way I could be charged again by them. Then they apologized and said they knew it was super suss and weren’t supposed to tell me to do that, but they didn’t like seeing a nice lady get taken advantage of.
SCAM. What legit support dept SAYS that? I asked if my sub was totally marked cancelled and was assured yes if I took the steps at PayPal, it was. Again, a super-suspicious answer.
I hope the guy didn’t lose his job over it, but seriously! If I hadn’t done that, it might have ended up on my credit report!
NOW i am receiving weekly emails about my “default” of payment and am very glad I used one of my non-standard email addresses that could easily be removed from my PayPal account. Thank God I didn’t give them any info that could impact my credit score. I had a faint hunch it was going to be scammy. Glad I followed it.
Seems this company rolls through a lot of different scams to get more money out of you, just looking at the comments here.
This app is SCAMWARE. DO NOT INSTALL
I just want to confirm that this company is scamming me. I cancelled my free trial and they charged me for a full year last night. If anyone knows how to contact them, please let me know. I’m going to continue pursuing this.
Crazy. I cancelled my account - but was one day late past the trial period. I was charged $39.95 but was refunded the money. I don’t like nor need this silly app. Now, however, I’ve been charged again, the full annual amount. Why? Stop people…please. Refund my money through my pay pal account immediately. Thank you.
I was just billed for another year after canceling a while ago. Not sure if I'll get my money back but I had used an American Express card, called them and told them to never accept charges from them.

Please cancel my free trial. I learned about the app as a health care worked and I am unable to afford the annual membership fee at this time. I recently lost my job and this is an expense I am unable to justify at this time in my life.
Thank you,

I thought I selected the free fabulous app, but then it looked like I had chosen the premium. I tried to unsubscribe (just did it 2 days ago) but there’s no cancel option? It’s on my iPad and I was in Apple ID and subscriptions and could tap on fabulous...

I truly do love this app. I have been using it for about a week now, and it has been more helpful than any other app I have tried. I am a young mother to two young boys, I work full time, and go to school full time. I have struggled for years now to learn how to take better care of myself due to my priorities are always making sure my children are taken care of while my health and wellness, both mentally and physically, took the back seat. For the first time in my life, I am actually creating healthy routines for myself. In the morning, I meditate, drink a glass of water, take my vitamins, and stretch. In the evenings I tidy up, read for 30 minutes and write down what went well today. And I’m still only using the free version! I think that is the best thing of all. Due to a strict budget, I cannot afford the premium version of Fabulous at the moment. However, I can still access a lot of the features that are essential to me bettering myself through this process. This also allows me to make sure that this app is everything I need it to be before I make the hefty $50 yearly subscription (I know $50 is not a lot by any means, I just can’t afford that right now🤷🏼♀️) and that’s okay! Because I can still thankfully do everything I need to do starting out. I sincerely appreciate the developers of this app, and I hope to stay with Fabulous for many years to come!☺️
As a sophomore in high school who is currently taking ap classes and college courses while still trying to be mentally and physically healthy, this is it. When I was a freshmen I LONGED for a way to engage myself in my studies and my mental/physical health. I had to find an equilibrium. I had no motivation or reason to try at anything. I was looking for help everywhere: talked to my parents, friends, counselors, and a crisis hotline. I couldn’t find a solution so I pushed myself to do a lot of good habits, but in the end, it only deprived me of my motivation and will. I was overwhelming myself as I wanted to find a solution to my ailment. An ailment that ruins many lives. Lives ruined by procrastination. Now as I was looking for help online, I came across fabulous. The app seemed to good to be true and I gave it a shot for my own well being. Needless to say, I am grateful for this. As of now I have completed the courses: “An Unexpected Journey” and “Staying on the Road.” I’m currently doing “A Fabulous Night.” I know it sounds cliche of me to say this but it has changed my life for the better. I now feel happier, motivated, focused, confident, and passionate about my studies and life. Whether you’re 16, a middle aged person, or in your late years of life, it truly never is too late to help yourself and nourish as an individual. 10/10
I just got this app this morning so I’m basing my rating on user friendliness/ set up/ and its ability to hold my attention. The app kept me going, probably one of the easiest apps I’ve set up, definitely one of the fastest. Some apps can be work in just filling out the info but, this app was smooth & explained things clearly. I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes. I need something motivating in my life right now and I’m hoping this does the trick. I had always been a very disciplined, driven, fun, outspoken, and in great shape but, the last 18 mos~things have become very difficult for me. I had several big surgeries which left me in lots of pain but this pain is nothing compared to the pain in my heart... after loosing 3 loving people in our family. As my dad use to say... “Life happens kiddo”, but it seems I let it go on w/o me. I’m really hoping to find my fire again and hoping it’s as easy as finding this app~ something tells me... it’s not. All life’s greatest things~take work and I’m now desperate & willing~ just need reminders to keep going and I hope this app is a piece of the puzzle which makes the difficult times bearable. So, I plan on updating this review a few times, as I embark on my journey to become the once driven person I was~ so until then...
The old me wouldn’t believe that an app could change her life so much, but in truth, this app has made a huge impact on my daily life. Before Fabulous, I would wake up 10 minutes before I had to leave in the morning. I never ate breakfast, I didn’t make my bed or clean my room, I almost never had enough time to wash my face, and to be quite honest, I didn’t always remember brush my teeth. And it wasn’t just in the mornings that I struggled. During the day, I would hardly ever exercise outside of activities I needed to do, and overall I wasn’t making time for myself. Now, because of Fabulous, I have routines that I follow each morning, noon, and night that I customized to fit my interests and time schedule. I always remember to brush my teeth btw, along with many other things I used to struggle to do, and I’ve become more aware of my feelings, and my goals. I even feel that I have become more ambitious. I’m honestly super glad I got this app, and not only that, but I also highly recommend paying for the subscription. Through that, I got access to meditational practices, the ability to customize my routine, start new interests, and build many new habits besides the first sets. I just want to say, thank you so much for creating this app!
I have found myself off track & wandering through life after a few years of retirement and then a great deal of personal loss. 2018 resolutions were filled with hopes of finding something to restore some normalcy to my life; that reading a good book in front of the fire on a rainy day kind of normalcy. I had already made the commitments to weight & fitness long before resolution season & they were going fairly well. I just happened across the Fabulous app when I was in the App Store looking for a To Do list app. It has truly been the answer to what I’ve been looking for, although I had no way of knowing for what I was searching. Fabulous is taking me back to the basics, and teaching me how to instill habits again, something I had unknowingly given up. Having this structure is giving me something to lean on as I begin to learn how to be myself again, after so much sadness and misery. Thank you Fabulous developers for creating such an innovative program to help those of us that have derailed. One thing, I did sign up for their upgraded program, Sphere, and it was just too much for me to take in. Maybe later but for now I will let Fabulous take care of my needs!! I am Fabulous after all!!
