BostonTrashScheduleAlerts new directs me to BostonTrashScheduleAlerts Store to find the new version but the only version available is the current one that is no longer supported.
App doesn’t work. Downloaded in May 2019. Cannot get any info on leaf/grass pickups. Good
news is Boston has an app for that, bad news is that it’s inferior and doesn’t work. Kind of like most of Boston.
This was May 30, 2019, After many years of Boston trash day information that was reliable this year BostonTrashScheduleAlerts stopped working correctly. Today had on remove and reinstall to get a trash schedule. The says it’s out of date. Update to newer version but the last update was in 2018.
May 31 app no longer tell me to updated???
Just opened BostonTrashScheduleAlerts to see if collection is delayed a day. An alert told me my version is obsolete and to please download the update. I deleted BostonTrashScheduleAlerts , searched for Boston Trash Schedule at BostonTrashScheduleAlerts Store and downloaded it. I wonder why it wasn’t one of the regular app updates. Anyway, the latest I could download seems to be the same version as the one I just removed from my iPhone, and I’m getting the same exact alert about it being obsolete and to please download the latest version. What gives?
As a software developer at a local startup, I’m proud to see our city adopt the pace of technology. I’m not going to call the city to find the trash schedule, I’m going to google it.

I found BostonTrashScheduleAlerts as I looked for information about impact of a snow storm on trash pick up. It’s super helpful app and I highly recommend to keep in the loop of all things trash related!
Sometimes I forgot about putting the trash out the day before, but thanks to BostonTrashScheduleAlerts I easily remember because it has an alert. I couldn’t do without BostonTrashScheduleAlerts
So maybe I’ll have to update the review/rating later.
There is a way to search an item to find out if it’s recyclable or must be trashed. I find this a great way to settle arguments at home about which bin something belongs in.
I gave it 5 stars. Wish BostonTrashScheduleAlerts had more information on it. Example, I wanted to get rid of a home printer. Figured I’d recycle it. BostonTrashScheduleAlerts talked about printers and recycling but no dates or further instructions. I ended up calling.
