I died tapping all over the screen trying to find the invisible power up buttons. Now I have to wait 30 min to try again, might as well write a review...
I would give this 5 stars, but I can’t even play 5 levels. How can you possibly progress when you can only play once every 25 min?? Oops you were killed in three seconds that time? Sorry you have to wait 30 min to try again unless you use up all your money (if you were good enough in previous levels to get enough stars in the first place). Want to upgrade your ship? Great, but have fun figuring out how to actually use those power ups... there is literally nothing else on the screen and no info found on how to use them. Only what they do. Tips on loading screens keep telling me to use them, but they don’t tell me how.

Pretty identical to console version except for “pay to win” micro transactions. Lifting your thumb/finger slows gameplay and is the only way to activate laser, shield, and mega bomb...very annoying. If pause and power ups were on the screen to the side or in the corners or maybe even update the settings to where you can actually customize the game to your liking it would improve quality of life. I also feel as though movement speed should be adjusted since you drag your finger instead of move a thumb stick. One control scheme your thumb/finger gets in the way of visuals causing untouched challenge to be frustrating at times. The other control scheme doesn’t work well with the slowdown upon lifted thumb. Overall great time killer as most mobile games are but also lacking as most mobile games are.

What’s the point of the game? I just keep doing the same thing over and over. Whats the objective of this game? Plus, it would be helpful to put instructions to the game. I don’t know how to get through level 5? Is there a special card I’m supposed to collect? I have no clue? It gets monotonous after a while. But please forgive me if I seem like I’m not enjoying your game. It’s awesome that I can play it being I am a woman and most games like this are aimed only for the male population. I like the simplicity of how to use use my finger and choose between 3 weapons. Other games can be too intimidating for me and complicated on how to use all the multiple weapons.

This game is gorgeous on the ipad. I really like this game and have spent a few bucks to remove ads. Very responsive and generally an enjoyable game.

Just a couple of things I'd like tweaked for more enjoyment. First, it's difficult to activate power ups in the middle of a battle. Taking your finger off the screen slows down the game but doesnt completely pause it, so you can still get blown up trying to select something. Would prefer on screen buttons to tap. Also the charge shot should be engaged with a second finger anywhere on the screen instead of right next to your ship, since its difficult to do when holding an ipad.

Those are just minor issues for me. This game is fun! Hours and hours already sunk in. Easy to recommend to anyone that likes shooters.

This game is the best by far so far.. I am 51 years old, my generation was the first to discover and play video games, from Atari, pong to pac man. So Skyforce R has all of the fun, excitement, humor and killer graphics that it is an awesome game.. I would recommend it to everyone at every age. It doesn’t have the blood and guts splattering all over the place which makes it great for every age in my opinion. Now I don’t write reviews unless it is absolutely astonishing to me, so far this is my 4th one out off 200 apps, or so.
So to the developers, keep it up, this is exactly what my friends and I look for in a game, job well done..
of course you will always have negative reviews, can’t make everyone happy, but I think you made something that actually got my attention, which is hard. I own 4 companies, I do well, and of course I always give what is given to me ( money to unsuspecting people, in public) without anyone knowing my name, which is returning what is given.. So iam also very intelligent, so I have high standards and this game has it all . Very impressive..

This game is infinitely replaceable. Even when you finish a level and you get all of the rewards, the stakes get higher and the difficulty will increase on that particular level. Collect stars to buy upgrades so that your ship becomes stronger and better and faster. Really great graphics super easy play ability one of my current favoriteGame for my iPad. The only downside that I can see is there isn’t a clear definition of how to use my mega bomb or some of the other bonus features. If anyone has any information on how to trigger the laser or the mega bomb on my iPad Pro, by all means do let me know. thanks again for a great game and I look forward to playing this for many hours more.

This game keeps your attention when you play it extremely well. Each level is beautiful, well designed gameplay wise, and a unique challenge. Upgrades to your ship multiple difficulties for each level and different challenges for each level as well as a scoring system add so much longevity for the game. Did I mention the graphics are incredibly beautiful? With a well thought out, beautiful UI to top it off. I can’t recommend this game enough, and if you do get it, PLEASE buy the “remove ads” in-app-purchase to support the devs! They’ve done a great job of bringing a stellar game to a mobile device.

Dude. THIS game. I have been hooked ever since it downloaded about a month ago. GREAT time killer or just when you’re laying in bed. It’s probably the best free game I’ve ever gotten. So many upgrades available and you don’t have to buy anything to have a good time and be successful. The in game purchases are also cheap (.99 to 1.99) and are totally worth the few bucks to have no ads, 2x star earning, and accelerated plane recovery. Quick tip: If you’re low on planes, play easier levels so you don’t lose your last plane and are then forced to wait for your planes to regenerate (1 plane per hour give or take). Overall, this is an amazing arcade style plane shooter.

So this is a great arcade style game, lots of fun! You can earn stars in game to buy upgrades to many parts of your ship. There are different ships, technicians that give you bonuses, and there are power ups! I like this game even more because it doesn't require you to buy in app purchases to actually make progress, unlike so many lame games these days. I play this game so much that I did pay the couple dollars to remove ads. I suggest doing that right off the bat, you'll enjoy the game so much more without waiting for 30 seconds after every run. You don't HAVE to but you'll love playing so much, you'll probably end up doing it anyway!

I’d long since given up on phone games. Tired of angry birds, tiny wings and mindless repetitive grinding, I decided to just listen to music or read on the long train rides home. And then I downloaded this.

It reminds me of some of my favorite plane shooters in the arcade and on Super Nintendo. The power up system is polished and seamless. The level of difficulty is perfect with enough challenge to keep me busy for hours. I also love how I am able to play this with one hand, a must for long train rides where I may be standing and holding onto a pole for balance. It’s great. I also like the option to turn down the in game volume so I can play while listening to my own music.

This is an excellent game and I look forward to anything else from this stellar team. Amazing. Aaaaamazing.

For an iOS game, the graphics are stunning. The Reloaded version comes with several ways to progress through the game. There are multiple "technicians" to collect, which alter the way your plane behaves in the game; there are several achievements to earn which lead to new technicians; new planes - each with their own abilities; and there are new levels to enjoy. The tournament will keep you busy competing with friends, too.

If you haven't played this game before give it a shot. It has everything to keep you entertained for months. I would've paid for this game in a heartbeat. I can't believe it's free!

Please, keep new levels/planes/technicians/achievements coming. I would like to see this game bridge the gap between console games and traditional iOS games. If the developers would introduce new content every few months, they could easily keep devoted fans entertained, while also getting new players on board. I imagine "map packs" with one or two new planes, a new technician, and a new level coming out every three months or so. I would certainly pay $1.99 for a season pass to access this content for a year.

This developer is doing everything right:

1. Make a great little platform-style game that you can play for as little as 2-3 min to hours at a time with an ever increasing progression of weapons, enemies, bosses, power-ups, etc.

2. Make it free to try... Get paid by running ads for the cheapskates and troglodytes who take pride in never paying a cent for a game they spend hundreds of hours playing. (We all know that person...🤨)

3. Allow reasonable people to pay a very reasonable fee to remove the annoying ads.
(Note to Dev: I’d not have blinked at $5 to remove ads after 10 min of playing the game)

4. Make the game challenging and difficult without *requiring* the use of power-ups or costly upgrades just to make progress.

5. For those who wish to advance faster, upgrades can be purchased, but there is no thing that cannot be earned as opposed to purchased (so far)

Please support this developer by making a few purchases that are actually micro. Remove the ads. Buy a few upgrades. I’m not talking about $50 or a hundred or more, I’m talking about $5-$10 so the developer can keep working on great games like this.

Best game I’ve played that doesn’t exaggerate with the ads. Yes they are annoying but they’re 5 second shippable ads. Smooth graphics and controls. Nice 3D elements in the game for what’s suppose to be a 2D game. Stage 5 is your go to stage to collect stars to upgrade your planes. There is an option to remove ads, X2 stars and speed up for plane upgrades which are a couple dollars each which isn’t a lot compared to other games that’ll charge $10. If you’re looking to play this game all day you might have to consider spending stars to replenish your attempts that refresh 1 every hour. Or you can use stars to speed up the process. If you don’t have enough you can buy more but the attempts you have to play is more than enough in my opinion haha

I finished the game and love it but it needs more levels like could you make chapter 2? Or more bonus levels and different upgrades like side upgrade for example the main canon can penetrate through enemy's and objects, max health can be increased with faster regeneration (if you have the card), wing cannon shoots faster, missiles explode in a radius damaging nearby enemy's or objects, magnet has larger range and with negative force can slow down enemy bullets, laser is wider and last longer, shield can deflect enemy projectiles including lasers and increases the shield resistance and it will not break, and mega bob it is more destructive and instead of one bomb it explodes more one after another and please please please change the card radar and add more cards! I'm not maxed out on upgrades but I need more cards and please send me stars please like tons because I'm in a difficult situation that my upgrades are high but impossible for nightmare

I have been following this game series since the first one came out and loving every minute! Make no mistake this is a tough as nails SHMUP that is certainly not for the faint of heart. Difficulty is perfectly balanced to be frustratingly gratifying. There's no room for error once you reach the third difficult the level.

The graphics are crisp and clean and the controls are better than any old Nintendo SHMUP. It is very satisfying to collect the stars too. I'm not a huge fan of waiting for upgrades but in a way it adds a satisfying element to the game too because you notice a difference each day when you login and your upgrades have completed. I greatly appreciate that this game is developers allows us to purchase as well instead of squeezing us for every drop. I will be playing this game for many years to come and still go back to the old one as well because they are both great

I'm. It the type to review games, mostly cause I think it is pointless because c'mon, who reads this crap anyway. This game deserves a review because it is amazing and is a success in so many ways. First of all, there is IAP but it's definitely it pay to win. I made it through much of he game without spending a cent but ended up buying IAP to avoid ads because I truest feel this dev deserves my support and I want to give it to them. This game is easy to play but takes time to master. Yeah you have to replay the levels in order to get the stars you need to fully upgrade your ship but he levels are lots of fun. There is lots of content and lots more to the game besides playing the easy difficulty on all the levels. Get all the medals for a real challenge. Download this game, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much to the deva for putting the time in to make sometime true my enjoyable. This game will never be deleted from my phone.

No exaggeration here, I’ve played a lot of games from spending quarters at arcades to Home computers: DOS and Windows (various numbers), Macintosh, and iPhone. Sky Force (both versions; for now namely RELOADED) is magnificent. Flawless graphics, smooth gameplay, reasonable and timely upgrades, goals and rewards are given for outstanding performance.

The “stages” start out easy (each has difficulty levels) then you progress, each stage can contain enemy aircraft, ground offenses such as cannons, lasers, tanks, railways and naval ships. Plus there are people to rescue!

THIS GAME IS SIMPLY AMAZING IN DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE. I’ve been playing for 8 years and it doesn’t get old. I still have levels not completed because they are too difficult, or I’m too busy looking at objects on the screen to know what to do (“were those UFOS that just whizzed past?”). Get this and get ready to stop breathing and start smiling.

Kudos to the developer! This game is like Groundhog Day and the Matrix in tiny servings. Let me explain. So you start off as a capable but weak ship able to make it through a level. You destroy baddies and collect stars and it feels good. But then there are the achievements you want to get so you play the same level over and over and you begin to memorize them. This is where you start to feel like Neo (Matrix) and Phil (Groundhog Day). You know there will be a barrage of planes on the left, there are two humans who need rescue on the right and there is a tank launching projectiles at you. Right now you’re too weak to complete all your objectives but each time you make it thru you get a little bit stronger. You upgrade, you run again, you upgrade and then you DO IT!!! And that feeling is so awesome!! I’m only on level 4 and I’m enjoying this game so much! If you like intense, challenging but rewarding gameplay in short bursts then this is the game for you!!

This game is simply awesome, graphics are sweet, sound is good. Ads are often but short (5sec’s, or about 25secs for another turn if our of turns or doubling your stars) $2 to remove the ads is a small price to pay for a developer that deserves the support. You can easily go the free to play route, if your willing to do a real life job for free yourself…

High replay value, good for both killing a hour or 3 mins. Lastly, it will wake your under used brain up and build hand eye coordination, there gets to be ALOT happening on the screen at times, but that’s partly what makes it fun and a challenge.

I know that all sounds to flowery, but I haven’t come across anything to complain about. Look, I’m 60yrs old and finishing this game (getting all medals) is gonna be rough, so I don’t know anything about end game on this. But, if I still had kids this would be one of a few games I wouldn’t stop them from playing (for reasonable amounts of time). There could be a development payoff that would benefit them later in life.

I absolutely love this game, by starting off very basic and levelling up as you play it creates an awesome want and need to be continuously improving your abilities and replaying levels. The nightmare difficulty setting that unlocks once you complete all the missions is brilliant!

The only problem now is I have all my planes and all of them on maximum level, so I am kind of losing interest as there is no motivation besides finishing all the nightmare levels to continue.

Please tell me you've got a lovely update cooking in your basement that will address this I can't wait to get back into sky force reloaded again!
