Nope. This is not the way. I paid for the app with a set of features and now they’ve been pay-walled. It was a decent app, but when you add a pay for ADD features for that fee. But to steal the features we had access to and were already developed - nope, that is absolutely scummy. I also paid for the connector to adobe photoshop as well. And oooh I get a WhOlE yEaR of — standard functionality free for having ‘supported’ the developer early!
If I used the app more than a few times a year, It might be worth the sub? But as it is,I paid what it was worth for the original functionality. Now with the subscription - I’ll just have to find something else.
To be clear, I might have considered the sub for a month or a year to support a cool developer IF AND ONLY IF - it was to access cool NEW functionality. But not to access what I already paid for. That was just a big bait and switch.
Filmic pro did this much better. It was still felt like getting the rug pulled out from under us, but at least the provided a “legacy” app that would not get feature updates. Still semi-scummy, but not like this.
Was cool - now just another sleazy money grab. Do better - or don’t.

I understand paying to upgrade or paying for a subscription to access more features, but I do not respect paying for an app, and then being required to start a subscription a while later to use the same features I paid one time for. It doesn’t matter if you change your method of sale; existing owners should not lose access to the features they received when they purchased the app. I’ve never had any other app developer do this to me, so it’s not hard to lose trust with just this one scenario. Once is too much. I switched to using Pastel for my palettes.

I had already bought this app over a year ago, but now the features I already paid for are now locked behind a monthly subscription. Extremely scummy.
If there were NEW features included in the subscription, that’d be one thing, but removing already existing features just to force people to pay for the same thing twice is disgusting and greedy. Making a color palette isn’t even worth $4 A MONTH in the first place.
