We got the mamaroo bassinet despite what seemed to be 50/50 good and bad reviews because we were so desperate for sleep we were willing to risk it not working out for us. The bassinet was a lifesaver. Baby went from sleeping for an average of 1.5 hrs at a time and then taking another 2 hrs to go back to sleep (from about midnight to 7am...so we were basically getting no sleep at night) to him sleeping nearly 4 hrs and only waking long enough to eat the first night of using the bassinet (been using for 3 weeks now and he’s almost sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old!). It was 100% worth the money to us.

HOWEVER...4moms is TRASH. It was so convenient at first to be able to adjust settings and the timer in 4moms while I get to stay cozy in bed, but I have only been able to use it problem-free for a few days off and on over the last three weeks. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, made sure it is updated, and even unplugged the bassinet and then reinstall 4moms and it still crashes! Same for my husband...so it’s not just me! It’s annoying that being able to control it through an app is so strongly advertised as one of the best features and yet it rarely works...

They must have updated 4moms recently with a fix to Bluetooth connectivity issues. I just downloaded it (2/2/18) and it found my mamaRoo immediately, and it told me to hold down the music button (🎵) for 5 seconds. I did, and it connected immediately (the mamaRoo even made a chime noise to indicate success). It is also extremely responsive when connected!

I was sad when I realized it didn’t play music via Bluetooth, but when I looked at the packaging and advertising, I realized it gives no indication anywhere that that is a feature. I had read into it. Plus it has the auxiliary cable for that purpose, which should suffice for most people. (Use an old iPod or MP3 player...you know you have one in your junk drawer!)

A nice added touch to 4moms was the ability to register my mamaRoo during the in-app setup process, so I didn’t have to go on their website or mail in the form. Well done this app! 5 stars! I can’t wait to put our baby girl in her mamaRoo!!

4moms force closes all the time to the point that you can’t utilize it. Closing it and restarting the phone fixes it sometimes, but about every other week we have to uninstall and reinstall 4moms to make it work again. It’s quite annoying especially considering this is supposed to be an app for convenience. When 4moms is working and you connect to the bassinet and turn it on it automatically turns on the last feature used which isn’t always what’s needed. For example, if we used the car ride feature last it will turn that on when we may have only wanted to turn on some white noise. We love the bassinet, and wish 4moms worked better.

Repeatedly loses the Bluetooth connection. I’ll be able to adjust things from my phone, and then the next time I go to use it, it says it can’t find the bassinet even though it’s 3 feet away from me and running. And I’ve also had the issue of 4moms repeatedly crashing.

This is extremely frustrating combined with the fact that the bed turns off after 4 hours, which wakes up my baby. I specifically set an alarm on my phone so I could add more time before the 4 hours ran out, but I could not get 4moms to connect even though it was working when I went to bed. And since there’s no way to add time on the physical bed, this was extremely aggravating. Manually turned the bed back on as soon as it turned off, but of course my baby still woke up. This mama is desperate for sleep and I have a hard time getting her in her bed at all so please this app fix this issue so that when she’s finally asleep I can keep her that way!

Ok, first of all, 4moms is very simple, I’ll give you that. The products are all listed visually on a single screen with the ones you have at the top. You tap into the product to see the controls for it, they’re big and easy to understand.

4moms has terrible lag, however. If I reopen 4moms , it will say it’s not connected to the bassinet which is still running 5 feet from me. Or if I can get it connect, it will often not respond to me tapping the button to change the setting or turn it off. I’ll have to wait tap again or close 4moms altogether. This is very frustrating when dealing with a screaming child or trying to get baby into bed quickly.

This is the second item I purchased for my newborn baby after I got a crib. I was very looking forward to seeing my baby falling asleep in this swing however every time we put him there, he cries out loud. Not sure why he doesn’t like it - maybe he felt insure in the swing. For the money I spent, I had to say a couple of disappointments besides that my baby does not enjoy it at all: 1. The sound quality is horrible, aux is not technology friendly 2. The mobile is not automatic 3 the infant cushion is too thin - I had to purchase another for my baby. I would not recommend it to my friend moms.

Absolutely works fantastically! Took less than 20 minutes to put it all together and sync with my phone. Everything works smoothly so far.

I see people complaining of the registration, we just skip through that and synced it by being close to it via Bluetooth. My wife and I are using the same account to sign into on separate devices. And we both have IPhones, so I don’t know if that can make a difference for all these other reviewers having trouble syncing.

Overall great product and love the “ocean” and “rain” sounds!

4moms works great. You need to make sure your phone Bluetooth is ON and that your MamaRoo is ON and follow the directions for connecting. Pretty simple when you follow directions. I notice the bad reviews here are basically just because people have other expectations and wants that aren’t being met. Well, the product and app do what they say they do and nothing more- that deserves a good rating in my book. I love being able to control it with my phone. No problems here.

How frustrating when 4moms doesn’t work. Have deleted and redownloded and it still isn’t working. We bought the swing and the bassinet for the ease of having the Bluetooth and being able to control it from our phones, beyond annoying when it just chooses to not work. The bassinet also randomly shuts off in the middle of the night and wakes our baby up, also annoying. We love the bassinet and the swing but there are some glitches that should be worked out between the product and 4moms .

My baby does not like the mamaroo swing at all. I wish I would have gotten a regular swing. -But I’m the most annoyed with the this app bassinet. It only has a max of 4 hours so if I turn it on (the motion, the vibration, the white noise) it turns off after 4 hours and my baby wakes up every time. I downloaded 4moms so I could connect to my phone via blue tooth and maybe catch the timer on the bassinet to reset it before he wakes up but it will only connect about 25% of the time even after troubleshooting it without having to unplug the bassinet & plug it back in. Pretty crappy considering the price tag on this brand. It’s just trendy. Not really quality.

I think that this app should make prior app version available for their original mamaRoo 4 owners! Basically the new app only works with the newest model and is hit or miss from reviews from those new model owners. Customer service states that their is a Bluetooth chip error requiring a new base ( not avail on older mamaRoo models with Bluetooth option) or new Roo purchase. Total scam!! Don’t buy because Bluetooth doesn’t work! If it is a new model- I warn you that the Bluetooth option will only work until the next model is released; you too will find yourself paying for an option not available at that app update!

Very frustrating and unprofessional. Shame on you this app! Boo!

4moms now crashes after opening since the Apple iOS 14 update. My bassinet is very hard to turn on the bassinet itself. I have to tap very hard multiple times for it to light up so I rely on 4moms a lot especially after it automatically shuts off I turn it back on quickly to not wake my baby. But now I can’t do that. I even tried deleting 4moms and re downloading it. I hit the button on 4moms to turn on the bassinet and it crashes every time.

I LOVE this product! I have the bassinet and the swing and it has been a lifesaver for me. My son loves both of these. I cannot wait to try more from them. I am going to get the high chair as soon as my son can eat food!!! I cannot wait for them to come out with more. Also I will keep these products for when I have more children. Wish there was a higher rating then a 5!

I don’t typically write reviews and certainly not at 3am, but as I sit in bed constantly opening 4moms just have it crash while my baby fusses, I felt I had no choice. The most frustrating part is that this looks to have been a long standing problem with 4moms that the developer just can figure out. The bassinet works well but the inability to control it remotely kind of misses the whole point and seriously has me second guessing spending the high dollar amount. I would think twice before purchasing anything else from this app.

Got home from target, put it all together, downloaded 4moms & paired to 4moms in about 15 minutes total. The mamaroo doesn’t claim to play music via Bluetooth, that would be even cooler but it does everything it claims to do. LOVE that I can control the movement & volume from 4moms on my phone. I’m not sure why everyone has trouble with 4moms & connectivity.

It works flawlessly. Idk where people are having issues but I literally synced and registered (part of first time use) the swing thing (momaroo I think) in like a minute. Based off the reviews I also half expected the swing to not work with 4moms at a moments notice. Fake news man. It worked flawlessly again. So ya don’t listen to the nay sayers it works.

Set up was sooo easy on 4moms ! Easy walk throughs, dinged when I connected, and the interfase is simple and easy to use. I love 4moms 🙌🏽. The only thing I was bummed about is that I can’t play music through the Bluetooth. I had assumed I would be able to with the Bluetooth feature, but I guess there would be no need for the Aux. Not the biggest deal, but it would be awesome.

So 4moms is good, but I feel like it could great. I feel like 4moms is nice to be able to control the settings, but at the same time I figure I would never actually need to change the settings once my baby finds the perfect setting. I had hoped that I could have more options of movement or at least play my own music or sounds, especially since I am connected to Bluetooth.

First of all, the mobile: it’s pretty cheap and there’s no way to keep the mobile spinning for baby’s enjoyment and interest as other baby swings are able to do. So it’s pretty boring in my opinion.

Secondly, 4moms : Bluetooth cannot “find” my swing even though it’s powered on, Bluetooth is ON, and I’m 2 feet away from the swing. So 4moms is useless for me. I did all the trouble shooting recommended by this app and still nothing. There are far better swings out there than this one. Do some research and do yourself a favor and purchase a different swing.

Love this when it works! I downloaded it to control our Roo swing. Sadly, it keeps dumping my registration information and it won’t control the swing without that. So I get my baby loaded into the swing only to find out that, once again, 4moms doesn’t know who I am. You have to turn the swing upside down to get the registration info, which guy obviously can’t do with baby in the swing. Plus it’s unwieldy. Total pain. Please fix!

ive been looking to where i can do a review for this and now i found one ; so here it goes !

We are greatly disappointed on how this set up is , dont know why we didnt make sure but we thought it came with a motorized wheel on top that spins for the baby , we paid $200 to spin something ourselves . Bought the product when he was 2 weeks old he is now 2 months and barely fits in it . We have already exchanged the base once due to the base squeaking ! The exchange process was pretty easy . Came pretty fast . I just wish the sounds were more quality , the noises the product came with is just horrible ! And who uses aux cords now in days .

Wish we could get our money back .

4moms works well for our mamaroo 4. Controls what it needs to and powers off the device (I wish the power button remained visible in the options, seems to disappear and has to be tapped back). What I don’t like is that you have to use your email to create an account in order to use 4moms . Coincidentally, after creating an account, my inbox has been bombarded with SPAM. Is this company selling my email to businesses so they can advertise to me? Shady...

I had some issues with sign up and customer service promptly helped me out despite the angry email I sent to them. Everything works perfectly fine now.

My only improvement would be to allow multiple devices (2) connect to the chair so that mom and dad can both control it without having to re-pair. Mom usually makes dad change the settings anyways in my case so this feature would just be a luxury.

As far as everyone saying why can’t you play music because it’s Bluetooth, I don’t really care much about that personally because our baby prefers white noise anyways.

Thank you this app! You should change your name to 4parents though because dads love it too!!

4moms is good due to the fact that it is almost impossible to change speed settings on the actual device. More often than not, I have to use 4moms to increase or decrease speed. My problem with 4moms appears when I leave 4moms . Upon returning to 4moms , I cannot do anything with the settings. I’m forced to completely close out 4moms and restart. There has to be a way to fix this developers!

Too many invasive questions and data collected by an app just to control a baby device. There’s no legitimate reason they need your email, full name, child’s date of birth, product serial number and date of manufacture to control something via Bluetooth. I understand why they may want to ask, but it won’t let you bypass it and still use 4moms . Despite the claims that it’s being used for recalls and product safety, it’s a blatant information grab to monitor the use of their products and gather marketing data.

i absolutely love the straightforwardness of 4moms with no unnecessary add-ons. it has exactly what you need for every single one of your this app products. i have a mamaRoo for my niece and it’s nice not having to get up when i’m busy with my work to change the motion to keep baby from getting frustrated.

4moms works okay, the Bluetooth connection is a hit or miss. There’s times when it wants to work and other times where it doesn’t want to connect which can get annoying specially when I’m really to put my baby down, but what bothers me the most is the fact that only one user can have control of the mamaroo so my husband has to get into my phone to make a change if I’m busy. Or even when I leave the babysitter she can’t use 4moms unless I completely disconnected from 4moms . SO Annoying!

I just wasted $200+ on this dumb product. The mobile toy that comes with it is cheap garbage that wont keep a monkey entertained. No lullaby type music incorporated and you would think if a product has a speaker and works on bluetooth i could at least connect it to a music app and play my own but no, 4moms is so poorly made and has no other capability to help make their own product better. Power cord is very short so product must sit in a specific corner of house only where an outlet is near.

We bought this chair for our 6 weeks old as we read that the movements featured would simulate those of being held and rocked. This couldn’t be further from the truth! The movements are more so less the same for all 5 settings, and they offer no comfort AT all to my son who still insists on being rocked to sleep in my arms. The sounds as very basis, and the aux only functions on the older models of iPhone (old jack) The chair now sits idle and doesn’t ever get used.
Overall... it’s not worth the hype.
