Train Station Reviews

I *really* wanted to like this game. But the UI just isn’t up to snuff. Two cases in point:

1) I buy train cars (note to devs: they’re not called wagons in the US), and I don’t get the option of connecting them to the locomotive in the depot. There is evidently some kind of this-car-only-goes-on-this-kind-of-locomotive thing going on, but it is not explained in the game. A simple option would be to include all cars in the depot, and if I select one I can’t use, EXPLAIN WHY.

2) I’ve sent the basic wood-and-nails shipment to the first international destination — about 15 times, and I’ve only received credit for two of those. On those two, I apparently did all the right steps, in order, but it was by accident, not by my saying “oh, I see...the game is telling me I have to do X next”, because the game doesn’t do that.

Devs: if you now respond “this is how you do that”, or “go read the forums”, then you have FAILED as developers. I shouldn’t have to guess at how to accomplish something as fundamental as doing a contract. THE GAME SHOULD EXPLAIN IT. Unless you want this to be a puzzle game...

The train graphics are nice.

Maybe I’ll check back in a year or two and see if game play is any easier to understand.

I’m old enough that I could easily (and *gladly*) spend hundreds of dollars playing a game like this. (I’ve spent more on these “free” games than I care to admit.) But I’m not going to spend money on a game that doesn’t explain itself.

The Facebook login from the game is broken. I can’t log in and my stations are gone!! I’ve been playing this game for years and it’s all gone! Help! Edit: I’m able to log in, and all my progress is saved! I’ve been playing this game for years and it’s one of the few games I’ve played that long. I love the “no pressure” feel of the game. I can play at my own pace and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made! Edit: Once again, I’ve lost years of progress. At this point I might as well start over and save using a more reliable method. At least I haven’t lost a ton of money.

I’ve been playing this for years. I only now have recently returned to it after years of barely being on Facebook. I still face the same issues as when I played it last time. It is seriously time consuming. The profits and how long it takes to get them are not well balanced in my opinion. I know if you’re a beginner you will face those issues but at level 100 you shouldn’t be facing that obstacle. Heck I can tell you when you have requirements of over more than million of a product and you can’t even get a decent amount of that it becomes frustrating. I’d recommend make it decently easier for players to level up faster and make it to where if they are over a rank 100 they can get far better cargo, xp, and passenger cars with a lot better payouts per 20 minute and one week shipments. If someone is waiting a week it should be worth at least half a million of whatever product there trying to get. Our time is precious and is what helps the game thrive. So please ease the burden on those who have jobs. Less burden more old players come back.

this app is a great game if you like trains. That said, there's some stability issues which detract from the fun. The occasional crashes I take in stride but freezes on loading are less tolerable. Three times now, I've had to delete and re-install TrainStation to clear it. So, back up your progress with a PF account if not on Facebook.

The devs did a good job with this one. There's plenty to do, crisp graphics, with a fine variety of engines & cars as well plenty of options to customize your city. The freemium aspect is not too obtrusive.

There are a few historical oddities. The ubiquitous 40' boxcar is nowhere to be seen and the steam locomotives a bit skewed towards streamlines. And where's the coal ?! Overall though, very nice game.

I really like this game. It definitely is a good time killer when you are sitting around waiting. My biggest complaint on here may seem very small but I think it means a lot to me and other players... are the train horns on the locomotives; they are all the same! Why?? Put a little more effort into it and ensure there is a different horn for that particular locomotive! I would be super content with this game if that were to be fixed! Only reason I am giving this 4 stars; if every locomotive on here had a different horn, that’s attention to detail! I would then give a 5 star rating! Happy playing folks!

I am not a train nut to the point that I can tell what year, etc an engine is, but, I have a whole different outlook on trains!
When I graduated high school, I found out that my grandfather was a brakeman on the Pennsylvania Railroad. It gave me a whole new outlook about trains.
Granted, there is no coal in the game, some details may be off and some parts of the game are not perfect! That being said, when I play this game, I think more of my father and grand father.
Also, when you live close to a train yard as a child, WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE ABOUT SEEING TRAINS? I have a great time with this game. Thanks!

As a person who likes all types of history this caught my attention, what really surprised me tho was the fact that you don’t have to spend a single dime to actually enjoy the game to its fullest potential. I would however recommend that if you say no to an offer it stop sending the ad train the first time you say no to the offer, so that the tracks on your station can be clear for trains you sent out or the ones you whistle for

I am fortunate to have received an email one summer day in 2014 with an invitation to check out pixel' TS game. The players ' community is awesome (forum), there are monthly updates or new versions, the pace is great. As this is created in Czech Republic it may not be totally Americanized, but if you truly love trains, that's even better (ever ride Amtrak? Ha!). I was stymied at first, despite the tutorial, but hit that forum & all is answered. Thank you, all my Czech brothers & sisters at Pixel Federation. My only complaint now is .... will you please lower shipping rates to the USA on your merchandise? Cheers!

Hi, I’ve been playing the game ever since it first came out. There use to be a shop section where you could buy back any objects such as locomotives, cargo cars, passenger cars, XP cars, buildings and decorations from achievements and contractors. A lot of players used that if they had to sell it to free up storage space but also hate to have to let that kind of stuff go. Is there anyway that the buy back shop could be brought back? Thanks!

Would like to see some way to display where a local train is dispatched to.. This would be a big help in controlling how many trains are sent to a particular place. Would also like some method of “marking” a local train while enroute so that it can be re-dispatched or the consist changed when it appears back at the station. Would also like some way to disassemble a local train at the station. Otherwise very playable and fun....!

I’ve been looking for a game I can spend time with that doesn’t “bottle neck”. It seems most games have tons of stuff to do to get your interest in the beginning. But this game has as much to do in the beginning as it does later on. You can choose how often you want to interact with the game rather than waiting hours or days if you don’t want to. Also gems are the special currency in this game. They give you several options to obtain gems rather than purchasing or wait forever for special occasions.

So I wish I gave it a 5star but when ever you delete the game it wants you to login back again i don’t like that. Because I deleted TrainStation because it said app antiliazed which I do not know what that is. So I deleted and then I told me to log in AGAIN! I spent almost a year getting to level 200 buying infinite warg class I spent 5 to 6 dollars buying things. But anyway it’s a great game I never got my things back so I had to start from level one. Please fix when you delete the game and get TrainStation again you get everything back. Thank you

TrainStation could be fun but there are no instructions for new players. I keep sending materials for contracts only to wait the 30 minutes and surprise no materials are there. Idk what I’m doing wrong and there is no place to get help at all. I have no idea how to switch trains for the contracts because again there are no instructions and it’s not at all intuitive. Please write a guide for beginners so I can enjoy the game and write a better review.
Update: I still say it’s very hard for someone who’s never played a game like this to pick it up and figure out what to do but after bumbling through it for several days I am enjoying it. Customer support is excellent. They always are friendly, helpful, and I am changing my rating of TrainStation to 5 stars because of them.

I played this game constantly with my dad when I was a kid. This game first came out as a facebook game when I was about 7 or 8, and my dad and I would play the whole day together when he was off from work, which was a lot, as he had a car accident that made him homebound for the better half of a year. It’s the only good memory I have of him, to be frank, as recently I moved out just to get away from him. Absolute blast to play, but a bit bittersweet because of my dad. 10/10, would recommend!

So I’ve been playing the game a lot recently, it’s amazing, but there’s one flaw that you should fix. So I’m playing and I accidentally bought some train I already had for like 300 gems and when I tried to get them back it would only refund the train as coins. Could you fix that problem by adding a system in storage where there’s a option for gem bought stuff to be there and you can get gems back from selling the gem bought stuff. Besides that it’s an amazing game. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve been playing this game for about four or more years now, since I was around 16-17 I believe and I love it, I had been hoping for a mobile app of it so when it came out, I was really excited and happy to finally see it in the google play store, now here I am on my iPhone and I still love the game, but after revisiting the desktop version I only wish they would add the “Collect All” feature for bonuses, and the ability to disable and enabling of the “Fade Train” feature.

That’s all, keep up the great work! New stuff every couple days and it’s not to much that’ll leave you in the dust either! Haha!

I was bored looking for something to play and I came across this game so I gave it a try. I got down the basics and before I knew it I was checkin up on this game every hour. I don’t even know much about trains but this game is truly addicting and it’s probably my favorite game out on mobile. I love knowing that I will get cool new stuff once I level up and it keeps me wanting to playing more and more and get better things. Still haven’t unlocked diesel trains yet but I’m pretty close and I can’t wait. Keep the events coming and try to make em more often too. Hopefully u guys see this love 🙏🏽

This game is great! It has mostly real trains too! It’s super relaxing and, if you have enough trains and send them for 5 minutes, they actually come in pretty often. Also the contracts and international slots are a great way to get more trains, train cars, and buildings! My only complaint is the special offer trains constantly coming in. If you have only one rail it can block up your other trains. And if you aren’t watching your station in a menu, it can sound like one of your trains and then you’re disappointed when it’s not. But great game otherwise! Also thank you developers for continuing to update this game even though you have Train Station 2

Really well done app that balances many factors of railroading: great progression through the years with engines and rolling stock, simple but elegant economy to provide passengers, mail and ever changing goods across a varied spectrum of locations, pretty easy learning curve, and no cutthroat competition! I really enjoy it. You have a choice of round trips so you can build your gaming around your schedule by choosing 8 hour trips for over night. Many options, good eye candy and a nice historical tidbits about the engines.
