I made the mistake of signing up for an incredibly low rate (big mistake). I was shocked to see on my bank statement that I was being charged $11.99 / month via automatic payment. While this subterfuge is the "current business practice in marketing"; it still stinks. I feel violated. Whatever cursory interest I had in Detroit via The Detroit News is gone. I never want to even hear those words ever again! I will try to stop the unwanted automatic payment through my bank. What a friggin nightmare! Tom in San Antonio P.S. My favorite part is the link to "we made cancelling the subscription to The Detroit News so easy". So, you begin and "Just answer" starts by wanting a dollar payment (refundable ?). WTF?

Your paper continues to minimize the candidacy of Martell Bivings for Congress. A recent editorial lamented that there will be no African American representatives from Detroit for the first time in decades. If your paper were to treat Mr Bivings fairly, this may not be the case. How can you ignore a home town candidate. He intimately understands the problems of Detroit . Certainly more than his competitor. I look forward to you writing a front page article on his candidacy. I don't see how the Detroit News can say it is a balanced newspaper unless Mr Bivings is given a chance to be seriously discussed. Thank you. I look forward to a fair and informative article prominently placed in the News.

Glitchy, freezes computer, doesn’t keep signed in,

I have been a long time scribes to the free press. It works great. I decided to subscribe to the news also. It has never properly worked in months. I can’t get any support from these people ever. I have made it a mission the last few days to get this properly configured but I can’t. I have a computer degree and operate many similar apps without issue. This app and its support are the worst I have ever encountered. Kevin

Just A Mini Freep

I once had both the Free Press and Detroit News apps. I dropped the Freep app years ago because it just became unreadable for anyone other than an extreme left winger. Now the Detroit News is heading that way. I just want to read news. News, not opinion. I like reading opinions in editorials but not pawned off as news. If you’re a liberal, this is the spoon feeding you desire. If you are a moderate or heaven forbid, a conservative....you’ll be sadly disappointed. Manna for lemmings.

Excellent app with one overriding flaw

NO OTHER NEWS APP HAS THIS FLAW which I have reported several times with no response Excellent content and easy to use but one flaw found only in one other news app (Detroit Free Press app) makes using this app frustrating to the point of avoiding it. 1)If I am reading a article 2)Want to get additional information on a place, name, event, statistic, etc. 3) Goto another source anywhere else on the internet such as Wikipedia, Google maps, etc. 4) I am returned to the “Top Stories” page instead of the article I was reading I normal use an iPad Pro running the most iPadOS 15.1 but this flaw has been present for at least 3 months through several system upgrades
