It feels the game doesn’t know it’s rules. I castles my king, opponent takes his queen takes a pawn and wins. Tf? That’s just a check shouldn’t have been a checkmate. I also don’t don’t care for the gambling part. I checked two other chess games and both said it was only a check. If this game knew the rules it knew I could’ve taken my king and take the queen. I do like that I play with other people though. I think it’s a game that needs tweaks to the checkmate system I’m sure it’s a good game just needs work. If your serious in getting into chess try out 3D chess or play Magnus
Or even a game that’s just called chess the teach you how to play and let you just play for fun.

I opened ChessOnline wanting to start a casual chess game, and I noticed a match offering 100 gold coins. When I joined, I quickly realized the timer was only 1 minute per game. My opponent rushed through their moves instantly, while I was still trying to think through my first move. Every time I took a moment, they’d immediately make their next move just milliseconds later. It was clear they were exploiting the ultra fast timer. I ended up losing because I simply couldn’t keep up.
Then, I tried another 100 coin bet game, and guess what? Another 1 minute blitz! The same thing happened!! the opponent rushed through their moves, and I lost again. In total, I lost about 500 gold coins due to this frustrating setup. Only after losing several times did I realize that the time control is actually displayed before you even click the game. Why isn’t this clearer from the start? It feels unfair, especially for casual players who aren’t prepared for such lightning fast games. This needs a serious fix. WHAT IN THE WORLD?!

It’s designed so that you win games but win only a fraction of your bet. The goal being that you have to watch videos or eventually pay for coins within ChessOnline . As you get better your rating increases to the point you can only play with excellent players ensuring you lose money.

A third problem is that people have found a way to cheat the clock by using the move assist. It alerts players when they make a bad move, freezing their time. This is exploited by cheaters for additional time.

I love the game chess. It does make you think and anticipate but with ChessOnline I have complained on numerous occasions that it keeps cheating me out of coins and the replays on bet when I reach out to them are idiotic but I still delete ChessOnline and reinstall it and it works for a week or two and starts it all over again and cheating me out of coins.
I also have contacted them about the way the game plays draw vs time limit and it is wrong and all they do is send me the rule book on draws. I’ve been playing chess for over 40 years and have played tournaments that are local and state and national and these rules they have set up are not right.

In order to play the game you have to have gold tokens. You use these gold tokens to bet a certain amount in order to play a game. Well most of the time if you win, you don’t not get your winnings, and sometimes you only get half of your money back if you win (as in opponent becomes inactive, let time run out, of resign) It’s insane. I’ve messaged them 3 times about it. They told me that I don’t get any coins back because I have to pay a fee each time. That’s just stupid. So I have to pay the whole bet fee every time I win. Therefore I’m not getting any winnings. Smh

I have played on ChessOnline for several years and up until recently it has been great but now getting into ChessOnline has become a real problem and even when I do get into ChessOnline it is always crashing on mid game and if I don’t get back into the game it comes up that I have left the game which I haven’t but because the game has crashed I loose the gameI have a lot of problems getting back into the game before it awards the win to my opponent this is really frustrating to say the least.

So I was confused for a while on how the games worked on bets because I could never earn any money because it’d just give my bet back. Example is if you bet 10 then the pot would be 20 and if you win then you’d get 20 and if you lose you lose 10 for normal betting but not with this platform. I contacted them as I would win and not get more than my bet, they said games have “fees” and vip guest have lower “fees” for the payout. I have since uninstalled for this reason.

I mean it’s really not much different than any other chess game online so it’s whatever just your run of the mill besides the fact that it’s timed and you loose the match if you go over that is just infuriating. I know that timing moves is a part of chess in a professional game but this is just for novice or causal player do away with the clock. I was literally mopping the floor in both matches I played and I took just a second to long to plan my next move and lost screw this game I deleted ChessOnline .

I had been using ChessWise app for years because it allows me to connect with players on FCIS, but the lag and connection issues to their server has made it unplayable — and at one point I paid $3.99 for their Pro version and still only got a “Guest” account.

Thank goodness for this chess app! Compared to all others I’ve tried so far — ChessOnline allows me to play with others and I haven’t had any connection issues. The only bad thing, are the annoying pop up ads — though, I might purchase their premium app version if the ads aren’t there.

I’ve been practicing my chess on ChessOnline with computer A.I for awhile now and haven’t came across any glitches until now. Enemy pawn was A4, moved to A3. My pawn was B2 so I moved B4 to avoid the attack. Well the A.I moved B2 like I was there and my pawn which was B4 then disappeared out of thin air. The only reason I’m putting a review down is because it was a critical moment in the game and this was one of the factors that led me to lose the game.
Please do something about this glitch if possible.

It is a great App but the way you try to make money is annoying. Stop turning on the Mistake Preventer without me wanting to buy it. Attempting to sell it to those who do not need it is a bad approach to monetization [and I will check if it violates Apple policies]. Moreover, the Mistake Preventer shows moves that are not mistakes—only in an attempt to sell the add-on. The disable feature is disabled. Lol. It is really bad practice how you want to make money. Improve your monetization on ads but do not try to add features that attract only non-chess type personalities and distract true players. Instead, concentrate on getting better players and improving your sale from ads.

I was quite depressed bcz chess on line has blocked my account without any reason so i was having only one option left to play a bet of ten gold with a decent player of some country and i have enjoyed a lot while playing with him / her i do not know the gender i defeated him within five minutes those 5 minutes proved an antidote of my acute depression

I haven’t had any problems yet, it’s been a fun experience so far and I’ve started considering becoming a VIP member as well. I just have one question which I can’t seem to google find on my own... can someone (developer) please tell me; if I buy the VIP membership with coins (I’m trying to collect enough for a full year :)), will it auto renew on my iTunes card when the membership runs out?

I've been playing chess since I was 9 and I'm still terrible! That why I like how the matches are selected you choose who you want to lose too lol But seriously it's a lot of fun being able to play people from all over and I really do appreciate the free spins, ( they save me when I'm on a losing streak lol). The message feature I believe is what I like the most because it allows you to chat with your opponent during the match and can become entertaining in itself from time to time.

Overall, King of chess apps.

I’m truly grateful playing this game because I’m learning how to play chess at same time of playing. It’s definitely overall great game play if your beginner. I highly recommend to all my friends about this game. I believe this game should consider adding ways to add money bet for coins actually be able to cash out money after you’re wins. That’s just my opinion. But yeah this game is awesome !!!!

Overall great app put together. Masterpiece.
Love the game. However I came across a small problem when trying to play with friends and sending the link to them so we can play a game together but once clicked on the link, it brings them to ChessOnline Store and not the in game, game to play with each other. Help needed thank you have a blessed day

The only problem is that sometimes I get a “lost connection message” after I have made my move and substantial time has passed. I check my settings and see that I am still connected. So the connection loss must be on the other end or in between. Yet the result is that I lose. This seems unfair

I’ve played several apps and in the end always delete. I won’t be doing that this time. ChessOnline is imo the best free chess app I’ve ever exp. You get a game with some one in Algeria in a few seconds, you play 5 min blitz, and possibly make chess friends on the other side of the planet. ChessOnline is priceless! Try it and you’ll see.

I have been enjoying this platform for years. Recently, I removed ChessOnline as I wanted to reduce screentime. However, I want to login to my chess online+ account and cannot find my account. I signed up using facebook.

While I can start a new account, I’d love to get my old account back. I tried to look for the developers’ email/ support center. But every link redirects to chess online+ web version.

It’s a shame I enjoy playing. It’s out of hand on here now. So many people use these computer chess apps and mimic the moves on here. It feels like only a few including my self play legitimately. I try lowering the time for games, it doesn’t matter. I would recommend an update for ChessOnline or new design. If you click off of ChessOnline , whether on your phone or computer, that ends your match. Maybe that would help some. Even if the people that mimic use another device it may deter them because it’s more work at that point. I’m getting a beating on here. My player rating takes a dive from that and it’s frustrating. You’ll notice these extraordinary counter moves from lower rated players or the piece swapping. That’s coming from computer mimicking. Please help Chess Friends! Save the game! ChessOnline is also programmed with User profiles being used as Bots. So when you get low on coins it will make the difficulty harder to win and try to get you to purchase the coins.
