Buggy!

Revising review to only 1 star. 21DayMeditationExperience continues to have issues, kicking me out, not starting at all, or just spinning. Their answer after multiple mail exchanges is that the problem is on my side, since other apps work just fine and have tried multiple devices,I doubt that is the case. But I can call them to further debug, but only during business hours and yes I have a job, so that is really useless. Don’t buy anything streaming or that you have to be online for, as the download feature is hit and miss as well. Just bad testing practice, bad design, bad customer service, and probably not worth the aggravation.

21DayMeditationExperience continues to be buggy. Meditations don’t play or play part way and then stop. App quits working all together. Uninstalled and reinstalled, but even that has problems. Have spent a great deal and now I wish I had just bought the CDs, at least my CD player works or I could have loaded them to iTunes. Not sure this is worth it and the free meditations make it even worse, probably more people than their servers can handle. And tech support is useless. Their response is try another device or use internet in a different place, don’t you think that has already been tried before I went to the trouble to contact you? And taking days to respond is also useless, especially if it is in respect to a free meditation as then it puts me days behind and at the point where I probably won’t get to hear all session. That is not a way to inspire purchase.

Purchases don’t stick, feels scammy.

I tried out a sample of one of the programs and while I don’t generally pay $50 for content, this particular program was so relevant for me I was willing to pay because I really liked it. I purchased the program through 21DayMeditationExperience and listened to the first two meditations (of 21). When I opened 21DayMeditationExperience to start day 3, my purchase was gone. I tried the browser version- no evidence of it there. I checked and my credit card and iTunes account show the charge was made.

So I wrote customer service and they told me they were working on it (they didn’t respond for 3 days though). They didn’t offer an apology or a workaround. Today they told me to update and restore purchases. I did. I got an error. I still can’t access my $50 meditation over a week later. I have repeatedly asked for a refund but I keep getting the run around. This feels like a bizarro scam to me.

Tl;dr: DO NOT PURCHASE MEDITATIONS THROUGH 21DayMeditationExperience! Clearly I am not the only one to experience this problem. The meditations themselves are good, but this company is really awful- customer service is terrible... you would think that for $50 for an audio recording you would at least get prompt customer service...

Meditations Only Work While Using the App

21DayMeditationExperience used to stream continually even while you were in other apps like the YouVersion Bible app does for example. Now that 21DayMeditationExperience has been “upgraded,” this no longer happens. I enjoyed it the other way. So, that if I listening and got a pop up message or needed to check something else, I could do so while the meditation continued to play. Now, if a previously set alarm goes off, it stops the meditation and you have to go back and press play to continue. This is disruptive and annoying. Since 21DayMeditationExperience no longer offers multitasking capabilities, I am not enjoying this particular meditation as I have others in the past. This certainly makes me NOT desire to spend $50 on paid meditations that are interrupted by every day life when 21DayMeditationExperience does not possess the ability to multitask as it has in the past. This should be reconsidered. Meditations should be able to be streamed in the background like many other apps whether they are free or paid. Is this such a difficult capability to bring back?

Frustrated by the new design

I can appreciate the new features of this updated app, though I haven’t had any use for most of them yet. However, one thing I used to do FREQUENTLY was “rewind” 10-30 seconds if I missed something Deepak was saying, or my mind wandered and I wanted to really listen and absorb these nuggets of truth. But it’s nearly impossible to tap and go backwards now. The backwards arrows rewind to the beginning (so frustrating) and if you tap earlier in the timeline, it only occasionally registers, though usually it misreads your attempt as a tap to go to the journal screen.
Please add in a rewind 15 or 30 second button. This would improve things tremendously and there’s no use for a forward (skip to the next meditation) button so that’s a waste of space.
Thanks.

Horrible app. Great meditations. Iffy customer support

21DayMeditationExperience is horrific. It works for a couple of days then stops. It plays maybe a minute of the meditation then goes silent, even though it looks on 21DayMeditationExperience like it is playing. The only way to fix it is to delete 21DayMeditationExperience reboot the device and reinstall 21DayMeditationExperience it will then work for about two more days and you will have to start the process again.

I have contacted tech support several times and gotten all sorts of answers. I was told I was running out of space on my device. I have plenty of room on the device. Finally they told me to just use my computer browser. If I had wanted to use my computer I would already be doing so. And I would not have a problem

The only reason I have given it any stars is that the meditation are great! I have since requested either a full refund for all of the meditations I have purchased or a CD of the meditations so that I can put the audio files on my iPad without having to use their buggy software.

Love the meditations, but app is glitchy & has design issues

Shows “error: your journal entry cannot be saved at the moment, please try again later,” but it at least for the moment does appear to save the journal entry. I haven’t closed 21DayMeditationExperience , so I’m not sure if the entry will be saved for long.
Plus, this has driven me crazy throughout every app version, please make the design of the time bar/seek bar/progress bar which shows the time and spot I’m at in the daily meditation be easier to adjust. The addition of the 15 second skip is great! Sometimes though, I want to adjust to a specific time in the meditation and the design of the bar makes it difficult to not accidentally touch another daily meditation that is behind the skip.

App problems

The idea of 21DayMeditationExperience is good. I love to meditate as soon as I wake up. More times than I would like, I get ready to meditate and I am signed out of 21DayMeditationExperience . So instead of meditating to start my day in a calm manner I am trying to figure out how I signed up in 2014. I’ve accidentally set up more than one account trying to sign in. Then I sign in and the content I bought isn’t there. So I figure I must have purchased it under a different account but I can’t sign out of 21DayMeditationExperience which is ironic because being signed out of 21DayMeditationExperience is what caused the problem in the first place. I love these mediations but I’m seriously wondering if they are worth the hassle. Can’t you make this more user friendly? I’ve called but have not heard back from anyone.

Cumbersome app

The content is great! 21DayMeditationExperience is a bit cumbersome. Two issues: logging in and tracking completed meditations. 21DayMeditationExperience does not store my login info, so I have to type it in each time. I have been listening to the 21-day free meditation. When I finish one day’s meditation, it immediately starts playing the next day’s meditation, which comes as a jolt and messes up the tracking, so that the next day shows as partially completed. I have to remember which days I have completed because the circle does not always turn fully white (stays half white) for completed episodes.

Daily ritual much loved- but please address this repeat issue

So I’ve invested a lot in these- I listen to them before bed and I love them. The first time you go though the 21 days there is a circle that is not filled that basically acts like a bookmark so you know which days you’ve listened to. But once you have completed the 21 days and want to revisit down the line- all the circles are white and you have to just remember where you left off. It would be so useful if you could reset the circles so that act like bookmarks each time you choose that 21 day meditation. I’ve probably purchased 10 now- but that’s only 210 days. There needs to be an easier way to go through them more than 1 time.

Don’t update!

First of all, many, many thanks to Oprah and Deepak for offering these free meditations. I love them and have purchased several over the years. Although I have always found 21DayMeditationExperience to be a bit buggy (issues tracking completed meditations, etc.), this newest update is truly awful. One of my favorite features used to be the gorgeous photos that accompany the daily meditations. Now they are lost in the new layout which has become visually busy and pushy with offers to purchase the meditations. Also, I now have to switch screens to read the additional information and then go back to the previous screen to play the meditation (vs. having it all on one screen, as it used to be). Ugh. Developers, please, please take note of all the negative feedback this newest update is generating and fix these issues!

Terrible redesign

I’m a huge fan of O & D meditations and have been listening to them for several years. While the previous version of 21DayMeditationExperience had some bugs it was simple and easy to use. This new version is poorly designed and not user friendly. The meditation player sits on top of the daily meditations making it very challenging to use. Every time you try to fast forward or rewind it tries to open the next meditation instead. The design is not aesthetically appealing or calming. It feels like this was created by people who don’t meditate and never viewed or used the previous version. And even after 2 recent updates to fix bugs, every page still has a bug. I emailed customer service about all of this and more. I got a generic response. 21DayMeditationExperience is so frustrating to use that I’m close to giving up on O & D.

21 day free meditation

I just love these free courses as I can’t afford to purchase any right now and since 2013 I have been thrilled with each experience!! I think Oprah & Deepak have been so generous in offering these courses to us for free and I truly thank them!! Meditation has shown me a different way to live my life, release my stress, learn true forgiveness, & bring more joy and insight into my life & way of thinking. I hope Oprah & Deepak will continue to offer these 21 day free experiences and I urge everyone to try them. They will bring wonderful change to your life. Thank you Oprah & Deepak from the bottom of my heart!❤️

Upgrade is awful

This review is for 21DayMeditationExperience only. I’m a big fan of the meditations and have purchased four of them over the years, which I listen to all the time. I hope the developers will read the feedback here, because the old app was great and the new one is awful. Like other reviewers, I agree that it is a giant pain in the rear to have to log in every time. What’s the point of an app, then? Might as well go to a website if you have to log in every time, and at least a website will remember your login id/email address. I also agree it’s annoying that the next meditation begins without prompting—really takes you out of the zone. Please fix these mistakes in the new app—it makes me want to not listen to them. CONSIDER THE USER! Apps should be about convenience and saving time. Thank you.

Terrible! Extremely problematic!

21DayMeditationExperience is awful! , works erratically and is poorly designed. The update is horrible and not user friendly. You can't even see the day after number ten without clicking on it. It is not congruent with the content. The old app had a much better layout and was more user friendly. Bring it back! It is clear that 21DayMeditationExperience designers have never used such an app and, therefore, have no clue about how to make it good. It was working okay until I made the mistake of downloading the update. Why would I have to re download everything? Nothing will download correctly now and I cannot use it unless connected to wifi. I don't understand why they can't get 21DayMeditationExperience running smoothly and reliably. It is really irritating because the content is good.

Sadly, you now have to sign in each time

21DayMeditationExperience has gone from simple and fairly reliable to irritating. You have to sign in each time you wish to listen to a meditation. The page is now bright and flashy; just the thing for for getting in the right mind for being calm. To top it off, the word "purchase" now sits atop each days meditation as you read the mantra and message info. We know these folks want money, but could it not be so blatant? Try waiting until the 21st day to ask for money. The old 21 day was much kinder and was easier to use. I would roll this back, if it were my choice. Realistically however, I will just move on more to buddhify and headspace. Too bad, as the meditations are good much of the time.
