EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021 Reviews

The first time i went to my first Airventure was the 50th Anniversary in 2019 and I had a blast that i wanted to the following year but unfortunately we had rona hit at a horrible time and i was able to virtually watch it and relive older Airventures. I’m really excited to be going for my 2nd time for Airventure. Saw the line up and im super excited.

This might be a great app, or it might not. It does not open on my iPhone X. I get an initial screen with a pulsating black dot, and that’s it. I can accept terms, I can’t proceed, I can’t see any more. I’ve uninstalled EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 and reinstalled it several times, all with no success. Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing if it had been improved over earlier years. Apparently not.
Update: All of my attempts to download and use EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 were made while using a very good Wi-Fi connection to a high speed ISP. However, inexplicably, while using only a cellular connection, I was finally able to get EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 to open and function. It now appears to operate satisfactorily. I will upgrade my single star to three and will continue to use the product during the event.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but I cannot sort events by time. I cannot create a list of favorites sorted by time, date, or location. I do not see a way of creating a personal schedule of favorite events.

Can’t paste a decent password into the “Confirm Password” box on the registration screen as the keyboard blocks the text field. Poor design; forces new user to use a simple password and then change it later.

Just plain and simple does not work

The 2018 version of EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 will be handy to have. One improvement I would suggest - when viewing a schedule listing, by interest or by day, and touching a specific event to see the details of that event; allow the viewer to go back to the place in the events list where they came from. It is presently coded to reset the list to the beginning of the day or interest category — with scores of events in each daily listing, it is pretty silly to have the list spring back to the beginning and then have to scroll through several pages of events to return to the time of day you were last viewing... Would also be great to have the capability for “My EAA” chosen events (Blue Starred) identified on one device to automatically transfer over to my other devices via cloud storage.

It works ok for looking at the schedule and if you desperately need to find your parking spot. It has some good info on the events too.
It really needs to improve on the maps though. No trams are listed, fairly difficult to find anything on it without going through 50 steps. I feel like it was better last year but I'm not sure.
It would be great to be able to go between a satellite view and superimposing yourself on the regular map so you can actually tell where to go. Currently, no buildings are labeled. Trams also need to be on there.
It would also be good if the schedule were broken down by hour rather than listing 100 things in a row for the whole day.

As the title says, it’s buggy and crashes often. While trying to read about different events, forums, or workshops I’d like to attend. EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 crashes after the third event posting is opened. At least anything marked as a favorite is saved so that whenever I reopen EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 I can find what I was reading or looking for. It also crashes the same way on the map page when selecting icons I’ve marked as favorites. A patch or update is probably needed. Would rate higher if EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 wouldn’t crash as often.

For weeks I am browsing the updating schedule on the PC while logged into my EAA account. The things I like were added to my schedule which grew every day. Access to the favorites/schedule helps to prepare the upcoming stay in KOSH. So, this week I updated EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 on the iPad and....no option to access the schedule linked to the EAA profile... Really??!
Now I have to sit in front of the PC and iPad and need to find the events in EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 again. Big disappointment!
Also the familiar map of the grounds is missing and is replaced with a plain Google satellite view. That barely helps to find your way around if you are not familiar with the grounds already (luckily I am).

This year's app is SOOOOOO much better than prior years! Much more user-friendly interface. Clean and fresh look! It finally looks more like an app than the old version they used to have. The schedule and exhibitors are easy to find and I love how I can star my favorite exhibitors to make sure I find them all again once the show starts! It's not perfect, but when compared to last year, it's a huge improvement! Great job and highly recommend!

EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 is wonderful. I love how easy it is to not only find any event you plan on checking out, but also to quickly explore others for some new fun. The map feature is AWESOME. I can get walking/biking/mobile directions to any event, area, etc including distance and walking times! Super useful and it means you don't have to pull out the big map. Overall EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 is easy to use, clean, and chock full of everything you need to plan your day or week.

1 I wish there were instructions. There seem to be features available that I do not understand.

2 there are lots of things going on at AirVenture that I would like to have in my schedule but aren’t in EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 ’s calendar. A big example is anything going on in Warbirds or at least the member only stuff. It would be nice if you could manually enter events (e.g. Warbirds picnic, pilot briefing, meet chapter at tall pines, etc. )

I have to agree with those that said bring back 2013 version. This one is lousy. I had everything selected and was going to start planning my 2 days then it locked up with the never ending updates. I deleted EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 and reloaded and the newest version has less features! No details on Exhibitors. How do I know what their product is by just the name? I feel like I need my old paper "sectional version" of this information printed from the website but you can't do that either. I only have about 1 day total on the ground there over 2 days. Why did this not come out until last week? Even if you fix it now it's too late.

Basic functionality of an Event app: select things to go in your schedule and be able to see your schedule. This obvious feature is not available here.

One example: there are 20 different things you can do at any one time. I pre-starred 4 so depending on what I feel like I do either a workshop, a forum, a vendor thing, or watch an air show, deciding on the spot. When you look in EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 there is now way to see those 4 options as they are mixed in with the 20 things going on at that time.

In other words, just use the website and print off a paper schedule. :(

Friends who updated their old apps have the new version working fine. I redownloaded it from the cloud on my new iPhone and now can’t save anything to a schedule like I did the past few years. The “My Favorites” icon isn’t even there where it is on others devices. Tried deleting and reloading and tried my old device as well. No dice. If your app works now, just don’t ever erase EAAAirVentureOshkosh2021 (I did it to simplify my last phone) as it appears updating it annually gives greater success.
