No good after update

I have enjoyed this game until the recent updates. Now the levels are impossible. For example, if I play all possible moves with a 7, then I get 7 from the draw pile or maybe 2 or 3 more 7s. This never happened before and now it happens over and over. If you have lots of face cards on the board, the draw pile has no face cards you can play on them and you can’t use any club except a Midas club. If you don’t have one you are done. I’m not willing to spend a small fortune on this game. And it isn’t fun to play if you can’t beat any levels without spending more $$. If you choose to play a video for a GBs or a free stamp, the video often freezes up, never happened before the update. Also, shortly before the update there were some r-rated looking games advertised in the videos. Not good, I hope to NEVER see those again, I will not watch that crap. Also, now we have to watch commercials instead of game demos. I don’t like playing this game anymore.

Very disappointed

*** Editing this review and not in a good way. All I want to do is relax and have some fun doing it and not spend a fortune but it gets harder and harder. You only earn 500GB for each free video and 2 Midas clubs-and u can do this 2X for each. Videos are way too long. Earning 1000 GB isn’t enough because to fill your bag costs way more GB. And getting free stamps is useless because you earn the same stamp over and over which of course isn’t needed. It’s a shame because it really is a good game concept but in my opinion it’s way too expensive and I no longer enjoy it.

It’s a fun game but there are some problems. In order to get a few extra coins you have to watch a video but the videos are way too long and then sometimes the video freezes and you have to restart and restart. One time I had to completely delete the game and reload it. The irons get more expensive the longer you play the game. I did end up buying more coins one time because I was enjoying the game but I won’t buy any more. Its just not worth it when you can see the obvious greed of the company. The more you play the more it will cost you. Why would I want to give you money when you make it so tough to win anything.

Are you wealthy?

This game is ok. At first it's real fun but as you build up experience you should be ready to spend some money. I haven't cleared a daily round in weeks. Can't even get 1 lousy star. The club challenges are decent but don't pay out very often. It gives you goals to shoot for -like remove 13 cards without removing a spade- these are impossible as spades are pretty much all they give you. Some courses have water hazards or roughs. The roughs are nearly impossible as you must clear the rough before you can clear the card. In others words it takes two cards from draw deck to remove one from the field. They have insane number of cards on the field then only give you 15 in the deck to draw. They have "irons" that allow you to remove some cards but the only real way to get them back after they're used is to spend "golf bucks" and guess what -- they give very few of these. This is where you have to spend money. If you have hours to waste this is the game for you as hours is what it takes to get anywhere in it

Rip off as usual

I used to play this game years ago until the greed got so out of control, The software developers literally made it impossible for you to go to the next level unless you spent money on clubs. I figured a couple years later I would retry it.... and..... of course they’re even more greedy. I have been stuck on level 30 for a month and because I refuse to spend money to buy clubs the level does not allow me to pass it. During these trying times were money is so scarce you figure that these companies would at least be a little lenient to help you kill some of the time. But as it turns out these people know no bounds when it comes to being greedy as they can possibly be. The fact is the game is a very fun game to pass the times, but because of the ad pop ups and the greed it makes it virtually impossible to enjoy it. So I’ll delete it and forget about this game like I have so many others. Not that any of this matters about what I’m saying because the company won’t get back to me anyways, or they’ll give me some BS excuse.

They ruined it!

Have been playing this game for years. Mainly because I love the gopher, McDivot 🥰. The graphics featuring him and his little worm friend are so cute and clever, as are the ‘movies’ he stars in that you win once in a blue moon. After the developers spoiled the fun by making it tortuously hard to pass the main and bonus levels, I started doing just the daily games on most days. Couldn’t always win those either but at least I was able to continue to participate. Plus there were the mini-games you could play like the gopher race where you could win some money and, in addition, there was a free stamp or a mulligan you could get.

Well, now they’ve taken away the daily games. It’s been weeks and it’s obvious that they have no intention of ever bringing them back. It wouldn’t take this long to fix a ‘glitch’. From what I’ve read, a new company bought the game and it seems they’ve decided to completely ruin it. Whether because of greed or through sheer incompetency—who knows. But it’s time for me to delete Fairway Solitaire. Goodbye McDivot—-I’ll miss your goofy little face. 😢

Solitaire is solitaire, this one’s full of bugs

As solitaire games go, this one is just okay—it is definitely designed to be hard enough to force you to buy boosters and such. They muck with it a lot and the updates seem to make things worse. They started teams, but only had forums for like, a minute, so there’s no way to communicate with your team. The rewards are super-buggy. They just gave us a 20,000 booster award (they say by accident), but they took three days to notice, and then they just took the boosters away, even though we had all been playing for three days like they were ours, and the consolation prize they gave us for THEIR mistake wasn’t even a little bit close to the same value, so I was actually worse off than if they had just gotten it right in the first place. Most places, when they make an error in the customer’s favor, just let it go. Because they acknowledge their own mistake and want to keep a good reputation. Not these guys! I am seriously considering deleting this game after that kind of treatment, which would be a shame, because I’ve been playing for several years, and had made a lot of progress. There are so many solitaire apps out there—you can surely find one where TPTB aren’t such greedy jerks.

Bugs.....

There are features that used to work, that NEVER work now, and I don’t use that word lightly. Like the replay feature where you used to be able to replay a hole.... it NEVER allows you to replay a hole anymore. Also, now when you click on the clubs to use a free club, a screen pops up that says that feature isn’t available at this time??? There are times when I win a bonus and my money isn’t reflected in my total.... That being said.... Now my opinion on the play: There are WAaaaay too many gopher got ya, pop ups, seems like that is all that ever pops up any more. Plus now, not only do you lose just cards, now you lose cards from your draw pile and he steals your money??? When did people start becoming so greedy with fake money? It’s hard enough to get any money without that little rodent taking it every 20 seconds... Being Kinda stingy with that fake money don’t ya think? How bout throwing in some kind of I don’t know magical bonus every now and then when a guy is down on his luck.... Especially if your going to have that mutant eating up all the cards and money all the time! Geez. I can’t even afford to buy clubs.... EVER! I have to depend on the videos & Free club cards for what I do get. Need to loosen up those fake purse strings a bit, if a guy can’t ever win a game there’s no point in even playing it anymore. Just saying.

Addicting

I enjoy this game but my enjoyment is lessening. Videos for daily golf bucks don’t play and if I’m lucky I’ll get to watch one video for 500 GB and that’s it! Videos for stamps are also impossible to watch. Daily games are next to impossible to complete. If I can’t finish a course how in the heck do you think anyone can get a great shot of 19 cards. Come on! The chance games are consistently TAKING golf bucks, clubs and cards away. It’s few and far between you get anything. I get it’s a chance you’re taking but really you just take, take, take. Sadly it seems you are following suit with other greedy apps that only want the make oodles of money while losing players. I refuse to buy anything on games. So, perhaps you should listen to your players and reevaluate your methods. Disappointed and will soon delete this like I’ve done with many other games that were great at first until money in their pockets was their main priority.

Glitch that hasn’t been addressed

The sound effects are unpredictable. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes just music, sometimes just the swoosh sound of the clubs swinging. Sometimes complete silence. I have each of the sound effects set at the same level - a little more than halfway up. Usually I shut down the game and open it back up, and then the sound effects work for a while. It kind of seems like the sound effects screw up almost directly after an ad. I love this game, but this really diminishes my enjoyment. So frustrating!

UPDATE:

The button that adds a set of cards for 2000 golf bucks is ridiculously placed at the same spot that you hit to scroll through your cards. I have gotten totally involved multiple times in games where my cards are done but out of habit I hit that spot for more cards, and what happens is it steals 2000 golf bucks from me for a set of cards that has 1 usable card in it. This happens a lot and depletes my store of bucks so much so that I can’t completely finish the game. Please consider moving this button.

Fairway solitair

I love this game, but many times when playing those mini games? for coins, I’ll win maybe 4,000 then nothing is credited, very frustrating. This happens quite a bit, but mainly when I win a large amount. I’m thinking of getting rid of this game and trying another one. It happened again tonight. Won 4,000 on mini game then another 1,000 fo watching a video. I waited & waited, none of the coins were credited to me. Is this done purposely to get people to buy coins. I refuse to spend money on a fun pastime. Come on pay up!!! Adding on to this review, again this morning played mini game for points & watching ads, won total of 5k +, NOTHING WAS CREDITED, yes, it’s a free game, but why the pretense that you’ll win to watch ads or play mini games & then not give you anything. Be honest and don’t pretend you’ll give me a reward!!!! AfterAnother update it’s forced on me which of course I noticed, but the previous update is making the game harder and harder to win forcing me to spend my points. So I’ve decided since the big winds don’t seem to be credited I’m just going to spend all the credits I have and move on to another game. Fortunately you’re not the only game in town that is fun.

It’s As Though Being Penalized to NOT Join Club Play

MAKE IT AN OPTION TO OPT OUT OF CLUB PLAY.
Am I misunderstanding the accumulation process?…
Mostly enjoy the game, because it’s for personal relaxation and stress release…It’s not to play for social interaction or to challenge others…so I choose not to join Club play.
Unless I’m misunderstanding the accumulation process…it’s consequently especially frustrating that It appears a portion of my efforts to earn points/ rewards in the daily games, and especially the various treasure hunts, are being accumulated in the Club totals, which even though still show as available in lower right corner, actually are not available..unless I chose to join Club play to redeem those. Even more frustrating is that periodically those are wiped from the Club accumulations, so the effort to earn those rewards is down the drain.
Stop penalizing those who choose NOT to join club play.

Honest Thoughts

Very excellent, nostalgic game. No complaints but one comment: The commentators aren’t as talkative as they were in the past. Why? Can there be a setting to change it. Their banter is the best and I wish there was more. Other than that, everything is awesome. This game is a must-have.

I have one small question for the developers though. Recently, I have been experiencing a glitch with the sound in the game. On the intro screen, once I hit start the theme music dwindles to nothing and I soon have no sound at all. Sometimes I am able to fix this by lowering and then raising the subcategories of sound in the options menu, or by closing out of FairwaySolitaire and re-opening it. However, this doesn’t fix the problem 100% of the time and it is starting to affect my experience with the game. Is there any effects that you can recommend for this?

Not sure what happened

I’ve been playing Fairway for sometime now and love playing the game. I joined one of their groups that play as a team to get more rewards. The other day McDivot put on our message board that they removed someone from our team for cheating then said something weird about it was just a test and to disregard. In the meantime, we lost a member because they thought someone cheated! Not happy to lose members and I honestly don’t know how you can cheat in this game! So stop posting stuff like that because you’re losing us members & costing us prizes. If they really cheated, remove them. We will just think they left the team. I do think if someone is on your team and does not play for a month or two or whatever, we should somehow be able to request they be removed so we can add new players.

Love this Game

I have been playing this game for ~7 years and I still love it. Now for the greedy, money hungry developers, what is ur problem? i play this game on all my devices. Today on my Ipad I can buy 450,000 golf bucks for $99; however on my Ipad mini today I can buy 2,650,000 golf bucks for $99!!! Why the big major difference in price, and the price of your Midas clubs at 135 midas clubs for $99 on ipad vs 950 clubs for $99 on my mini is pretty cheap on ur part. I once bought (not that many weeks ago) like 2000 midas clubs for $99!! i am obviously resigned to playing on one device as it is the only one that hands out a bargain. Prices should be bargains if you really want people to play and continue and should be the same on all devices. I am continually waiting the bargain prices to stock up but they are few and far between and when I run out I move on to the next game (right now hidden object games) - I am willing to spend the money but only for big bargain!

i am updating to complain and would like explanation as to why the prices on one device are not the same price on another. on aug 25 of this year i splurged on almost 4,000,000 golf bucks for $99 (thats right just under 4 million) today on my ipad i can only get 420,000 for $99 - i am only getting these great offers on my ipad mini. but i like to play on bigger screen too.

still love this game though, have been playing at least 5 years.

Fairway solitaire

What’s with the Pac-Man interrupting the game while going through the videos, and the videos hanging up. Your going to loose a bunch of players with these crazy interruptions! Or is that the plan? Good luck, hope you can fix... Soon,

Very frustrating to try to get points or clubs. I spend more time collecting them than actually playing. Another huge issue I have is when the daily game comes up, many, many times I have a screen with no graphics whatsoever, then the game says “you lost” of course, duh. Please fix these frustrating problems or I’m done, going back to regular solitaire. DONE! One star.

right, that at times is very frustrating to get points. Hey, I have the same situation as above,, daily games with no graphics. What’s that about? Very hard to win! And yeah, the videos that advertise are annoying enough, but because they’re always stopping, takes five minutes to get through them. Please fix this stuff!

Great game with a golf twist that’s fun

Basic Solitaire, in my opinion, is boring and not very challenging. The developers have made this game challenging, entertaining and addictive. I’ve spent very little money and don’t understand the complaints. Like every new game, it takes time to learn and understand all the options and how to get your rewards and freebies. Actually, the instructions about the stamps should be clearer. I played a while until I understood that if there is a number on the stamp in the lower right hand corner that a stamp was available to redeem. The developers are super generous as they give you gold bucks and Midas clubs everyday just by watching their movie adds. This is not a problem, it just takes time, about 30 seconds per add. And actually some of the movies/adds are entertaining and the graphics are remarkable. I’ve also found other interesting games by watching these adds.

Fairway Solitaire

Awesome game, BUT, some days there is no way of any success in, not just clearing a board, but just being able to get any cards to simply play. All in all, it’s a very addicting game.

Update: I’ve been playing this game for years and now I’m starting to get really frustrated. There is almost NO possible way to win the 3 day daily game, which can earn you points to buy items to continue other parts of the game. It’s obvious they have changed that - very disappointed. I would play until I didn’t have, either money/coins etc.. I totally DESPISE the “ICE” game. There is absolutely no enjoyment from this part of the game. Whose idea was it to add it to an already winning game. I start out playing the 3 day game, and sometimes you don’t even get to play a single card. Each time I’ve opened this game lately, I’ve had to just stop & do a force close. Why SO MANY GD long ADS !!!!!!!!! WHAT HAPPENED !!!!!

One of my favorite that I have been playing long time

I just downloaded this a bit long ago (forgot when lol) and kept playing almost everyday. First of all it doesn’t take a whole lot of time but can play as long as you want and can get rewards here and there. Second I’m not gonna lie. You need to either watch ads or buy some stuff but hey this is products. And once you get the hang of it, like when to use clubs, you don’t have to spend much money maybe you can watch ads in your spare time bc they don’t force you to watch on the spot. I really like that and find that very good actually stands out among all the greedy apps. And besides I love their talks about different countries or seasonal events or jokes. I would say 19 out of 10 best small table game app!

Thanks devs I love this game as my travel (work … lol) companion.

Can’t. Stop. Playing.

I downloaded this game after another game I was playing kept showing ads for it 😝 I never realized how addicting it would become. FairwaySolitaire design itself is beautiful and clean. The music, sound effects and even the “announcer” each add to the appeal of this game. I think I love this game so much because unlike a lot of other in-app purchase games, you have unlimited lives instead of having to wait 30 minutes for a new life. So if you do poorly on a game, just restart! There’s enough challenges and bonus games to earn you cash and items, so there’s no reason to spend a penny playing. The game doesn’t feel rigged like other games I’ve played; they really give you great prizes. I’m not sure if this addiction will continue, but for now, I am absolutely loving this game!

Finally a game with consistency

Been playing for a few months now and I can honestly say that this is 1 of MAYBE 2 games that I can/do play everyday, multiple times of the day & for more than 30-45 mins at a time without getting bored or feeling like the game won’t stop cheating AND *always* has something diff to be done every single time I play. And of all games... ITS SOLITARE!

Graphics and animation are pretty nice, many many daily challenges, mini games, CONSISTENT free items everyday, not based off of a spin or how many friends you have playing etc etc. This game is just awesome.

Every other game developer needs to take notice to what BigFish is doing, because they are definitely showing why they are called “BIGFISH”!
