CBS Minnesota Weather Reviews

So frustrating to try and understand the daily precipitation data. The summary percentage never matches the percentages shown for morning or evening and I haven’t found an explanation as to why. As someone else commented, the other frustration with CBSMinnesotaWeather is it’s slowness in updating information. Clearly CBSMinnesotaWeather is not a high priority for CBS, which is a shame.

I like that CBSMinnesotaWeather has what I’m looking for (local conditions to plan around), without a bunch of extras that throw off navigation. I like the fast scroll design between the daily/hourly/map/video...

The WCCO weather doesn’t open 95% of the time I want to get my local weather. It was once reliable it doesn’t work or works very slow.
I will be using KSTP or KARE 11 in the future. They work.

It takes way too long for wcco to load the most recent weather report videos into CBSMinnesotaWeather . Really defeats the purpose of “on demand” information. These should be available as soon as they are broadcast. The website has the content hours before CBSMinnesotaWeather .

The splash screen at startup is also just annoying, we know it’s WCCO.

CBSMinnesotaWeather has been very reliable for me until a few weeks ago when I installed the latest iPhone update. Now the cbs weather app usually does not open even after I reinstalled the weather app. Frustrating because this is/was my go to weather app.

All of the county-wide alerts now appear on top of (above) the radar, so you can’t even see the radar. Also, the color for severe thunderstorms got changed to red? Little confusing since tornadoes have always been red. Tried changing visibility to get rid of the severe weather overlay, but you can’t even do that. Map looks like unintelligible garbage now. Also glitches out hardcore when reopening CBSMinnesotaWeather .

The weather person on WCCO, Lisa Meadows, is the best weather forecaster they have ever had! She should be the main weather commentator for the station.

I don’t like the new color scheme! Very hard to look at! Hopefully you’ll change it back to green instead of dark, thinking of getting a different app just for the color 😢
Before you changed this, I Loved CBSMinnesotaWeather would have rated it a 5.

For a month now it doesn't show most recent forecast video. Usually the most recent shown is the previous days or older! Please update!

Apparently I can no longer use this with my iPhone 5 even though it says it works with iOS 10. Is this standard not to get a warning?

I keep getting an error msg every time I connect to CBSMinnesotaWeather using WIFI that I have to "retry" even though I know my WIFI is connected - FRUSTRATING & A WASTE OF ENERGY.

Plus, I hate the Bluetooth warning!

Love the content but it takes sooooo long to open! Can you fix that?

The new CBS weather app went from a mediocre app to a terrible app. I’m planning on deleting it. Hope you listen to,the consumer and put the map back the way it was. In the meantime I’ll find a different app.

The December 2019 update most often freezes upon launch. I can’t beyond CBSMinnesotaWeather splash page. It was a nice app. When it works!

Audio cuts out on video forecasts after a minute or so. Been doing this for months. Horrible nobody has fixed it by now.,

Qualifier: Since downloading CBSMinnesotaWeather last night, I have successfully used CBSMinnesotaWeather once. Once...of about 15 attempts.

The other attempts were mired in app crashes, freezes, and other bugs. It simply doesn't work.

And to be clear, the one successful attempt may not have been successful at all. I trusted it was working correctly since I could actually navigate in CBSMinnesotaWeather without crashing. It could have been giving me bad info.

Still, it seemed like it had some potential... Otherwise it would be getting 1 star.

Awful! Awful! Awful! It's never accurate! Can't even predict hours in advance accurately. It said 0% chance of rain so I got my car washed. It literally rained 2 hours later, and hard rain! 0% chance eh?

Can’t play videos on CBSMinnesotaWeather . Please fix.

CBSMinnesotaWeather just does not load on my IPad 2. It used to load very slowly, but not any longer. The Wink (Florida) version of CBSMinnesotaWeather works better. K

What happened? App completely quit working. Won’t move from opening screen!

The Good:
I like the integrated and frequently updated videos to see the familiar meteorologist faces I see on WCCO. I also like the upload my weather photos.
The Opportunities:
This is another unfortunate CBS redesigned app. CBSMinnesotaWeather loads slowly while the navigation is clunky and not intuitive. I would recommend Yahoo Weather as best in class for a clean user friendly weather app. I feel CBSMinnesotaWeather was designed with little to no input from WCCO. You have the most watched news channel in MN but CBSMinnesotaWeather does not align with the WCCO brand in a fun, clear and concise message. This unfortunately will not be the most viewed app in MN.
I look forward to the next version of CBSMinnesotaWeather update.
