Doesn’t work on 3 blade house fan. Haven’t seen it work anywhere else either.
It’s just adds the rpm you had set onto a picture
Purchased and used in 2016. Now says “Update failed” when it insists on restoring. Delete/reinstall doesn’t help. Positive reviews are likely for new installs.
Don’t recommend unless you’re going to use one time immediately. May function then. Wasted $$
As expected, this fails for a quarter second when the iphone cannot supply a high enough current over a long enough period of time(around 3 seconds) to the flashlight. Also, ads pop up on this.
There are other, better apps for this.
App works but is off by about 400 rpm. App showed 3330 rpm. Actually was 2900 rpm. Explains why my mower wasn’t cutting grass as well as it should.
I use the iphone flashlight but there is an inconsistent RPM where the flicker will stop for every second and then flash a steady light
It is great tool. I found it handy and very instrumental. This is really an effective tool for professional engineers on the move. Simple to use and do rotational diagnosis.
It unfortunately does notwork well as a tachometer,however, i accidentally discovered that this thing can use the amber led at higher frequencies! So good enough for me

I compared this application with our industrial strobes we use at work, very very close, we compare drum rpm with others controlled by VFD in a paper mill , in most every case this is exactly the same reading.
Have used it to measure rpm on a few things. Extremely useful handy. For someone who works on obsolete mechanical and electro mechanical equipment this is a dream app

I use the free version to measure the movement of the impact head on a massage gun. Which in hertz and rpm shows very accurately. It is very easy to work with this program. Put a contrasting mark on the mechanism that you need to measure (Rotating or reciprocating). Turn on the mechanism and turn on the light on your phone, and select the numbers by which the mark becomes stationary. Definitely five stars. Do not forget to turn off the light on your phone by pressing the button in the upper right corner.
