No music strobe

I downloaded this for the music strobe. It doesn’t work. I turn it on and the screen goes black. It doesn’t respond at all to music from another source/device and I read that it also doesn’t work from the same source/device.
Fun app but want to play music from phone at same time

It does a good job with flashes the this app and screen along to the music but why can’t I play music from my phone at the same time this is happening???

This flashlight is perfect for what I need! Don’t need the music part much, but I love how you can adjust the brightness of the colors, and easily switch back to the rear flashlight. Thanks for a great flashlight!
