I use RookieCam daily to take timed pictures but the newest update has made using it really difficult. Now a pop up trying to get me to buy something shows up between every 2-3 pictures I take. So I'm going to hit the camera button and instead my screen is covered in a pop up. I'm using it for self timed pictures on a tripod so it's not easy to reach around and find the x button in the corner. Also it keeps showing up even after I've dismissed it. It should at least remember my preference during a single session even though showing it only once a session is still too much. I really hope this is fixed soon because it's really degraded the user experience of RookieCam .

I wish I could give a better rating because I use this all the time and have gotten some good videos out of it. More and more I’m having sound and download errors and lose important shots because they don’t save in RookieCam at all and the sound stops recording mid a video. Restarting RookieCam fixes the sound issue for future videos but I can’t tell when it’s going to fail so still losing important shots. The filters are sometimes great and sometimes give weird tone effects if my lighting is too good. With iPhone 11 glitches have gotten worse so better off recording on the phone and adding a filter after.

Okay, I’ve been using Rookie cam and MOLDIV since 2014, and for years I relied on them most of the time, and to be honest they’re two of the most awesome photo editing apps u can find here... I still use both of them, and what makes them so unique is that whenever I find one of the features locked and u must pay to use, I find it in the other app free to use and vice versa, they both complete each other...
Until today when I got surprised that the “ grain effect 6” is now a paid feature, for years I’ve been using this particular effect , and now i must pay to use the same effect?
That’s a joke and most of the filters and effects are now locked, and they were free for years , trust me I know that money is important and all, but stop screwing with us and for once make an update where I and most of the costumers don’t regret downloading it😂

I've not used this so in a while but have kept it updated. In the past, I was very pleased with its performance and customizable filter options. Just now however, after returning to it for several months, every time I click on a filter option, a pop up window appears suggesting that I can get the "filter for free" after writing a review. And here I am. If the pop ups continue, I'll stop using RookieCam and move on to one of the many other filter apps that work just as well without the intrusions.

No tutorial - can’t figure out how to reset the filters. Not intuitive for me. A bit later - Getting better - more to learn- enjoying RookieCam . Still can’t find the tools easily. I like RookieCam I still have a challenge with getting the buttons that I need to show up and I’m learning. Not as intuitive for changing the settings - would like to see the buttons when you switch filters. I really do enjoy it in like the different options I just wish it was a little bit easier to work when you’re looking at the bottom of the page changing your filters to make sure it works Getting more familiar! Update - still working with it to see what filters work best for capturing accurate lip color etc. I enjoy using it -

Had RookieCam a long time, but always come back to it when I need to shake things up and innovate in new ways. The developers think differently and it affords you more creative potential than other apps that are so often just clones of each other. Get RookieCam, and if you can think creatively, you will find it often becoming part of your work flow. Layer, stack, add multiple effects- this is great when you build up your image. Great App!

I've tried SO many camera apps and almost gave up until I came across this one. The camera is very impressive as far as how clear and vivid the pictures come out. The zoom is really good. I took a picture from inside my house of birds in the birdbath, which is around 20 feet away, and it came out much better than I had anticipated. There's so many filters to choose from, much more than any of the other apps that I have tried. Very happy with RookieCam!!

I seriously wish they would work together with Apple to improve the iphone camera. I mean, come on Apple..... the iphone camera is seriously lacking compared to this amazing app. As for my other 2 wishes..... (3 wishes seems pretty customary 😜)..... I wish they would change the different lighting options (daylight, fluorescent, white balance, etc.) back to the way it used to be, so you didn’t have to do so much clicking to switch between options. I also wish RookieCam would support Live Photo, because I have kids, and they will never stand flipping still for a picture. 😑 So Live Photo really helps me to capture the in between motion moments. 😁
My one complaint is that all the filters are so insanely amazing that I can never choose which one to use. But other than that, I love it! I’m so so sooooooo glad I found RookieCam! I wish everybody could know about it, and the amazing things it can do with your pictures. *Cough* Apple *Cough*

I have several camera and filter apps on my phone, stored in a folder. RookieCam has found its place on my home screen, out of the folder because I tend to use it so much. I love the variety of filters one has to choose from, and if you want more, the price is reasonable. There are pop up ads, but they’re not too bad, and you can always pay to have them removed. Definitely try RookieCam out if you like to add variety to your photos.

I'm a first time grandmother that has no creative talent in terms of color, texture or design. I'm not even technically saavy; However, RookieCam makes the photos I capture via iPhone of my garden and infant granddaughter look like I a professional photographer shot them. I can turn just about every pic I take on a whim look like a professional photo shoot with very little effort and ease. RookieCam is incredibly useful and fun for the young and technically saavy...as well those that can barely see without their reading glasses.

I only advertise on SM and have downloaded multiple apps for photo editing but always went back to my 1 main "go to" app.... until now! I love RookieCam! I love that it's much different and offers a wide variety of options compared to my other main app.
I see people complain about the constant pop ups which had me worried before buying RookieCam, but if you upgrade to the bigger package, you won't have that problem and it's not a rip off. I love it and can't say enough good things about it!!

RookieCam is packed with useful, high-quality features, but I really appreciate what Rookie Cam offers in terms of aspect ratio. I really love that I can easily re-adjust images that were shot in different perspectives, or images that came to me with the image content too narrow or too stretched out. Rookie Cam does have some limitations in fixing these issues. For e.g., when you stretch out the content of a narrowed image (like when people and objects look unnaturally thin), the resulting stretched-out image can only be saved with the original image’s aspect ratio. In other words, both sides of an image stretched out by Rookie Cam result in an image that looks natural again (people and objects are properly “thick”), but when you save the image, both left & right sides of the newly-stretched image (that would ordinarily make the original image much wider) get chopped off. And you have no control over what part of the image gets saved; it just crops both sides equally.

Overall, an awesome product, and I highly recommend it!

I've tried just about ever photo editing app in RookieCam Store and have even paid for a few, but none of them made my pictures look as good as RookieCam did!! This has been by far my favorite I haven't tried any other editing app since Ive discovered Rookie Cam. I've even tried the adobe photoshop app but wasn't impressed and it lead me to Rookie Cam. I know most of these apps all have the same features but Rookie Cams features always get my photos looking the most clear and the best.

RookieCam is so awesome!! I started using it thinking it would be like all other sucky apps, but no! I got to add text, use the packs, and so much other cool stuff!!! I love RookieCam and I literally just bought it!!! Though I think that the packs shouldn't go to like everything here, RookieCam is the best photo editing app out there!!!
For a suggestion, I think that the packs for stickers, textures and all that stuff should be free or little money, because whenever I try to use something it tells me I need to purchase the packs. That's my only flaw with RookieCam. RookieCam IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!??

First of all, I don’t have the subscription thingie but I don’t care because most of the filters that you have to pay for are the ones I don’t even want. And I absolutely love the filters me and a friend took a selfie together after school when we were waiting for our rides and it looked absolutely beautiful with this amazing filters and I really love that you can adjust the opacity and skin smoothing some people complain about ads but there is actually not very many ads and I know its how developers make their money so I think its perfect I would vote #1 photo editor app

I've been using Rookie Cam for at least six years now. It's always been perfect. I don't open RookieCam as often these days, but it's always my reliable go-to. It seems like the layout is always changing and I have to find my way around again.. but that's always pretty simple.

I haven't been forced to subscribe for full features. I chose to pay for the upgrades I used, and I respect that business model. Of course a developer deserves to be paid for their work and time. But I don't support devs that squeeze $100/year out of a $20 product.

I recently downloaded RookieCam on to an iPhone XR. I’m used to zither Samsung Galaxy so I’m used to absolutely amazing picture quality. Sorry, iPhone just can’t compete. But I needed to find a reasonably easy editing app to use so I could try to fix the pictures I took with the iPhone. So far Rookie Cam seems to be able to handle the job. Fairly user friendly and though it too has the best features under the old “upgrade to our premium version and you can access everything “ bait and switch, what is offered with the free version isn’t too bad. They do make it fairly easy and understandable to utilize the functions that are available for free. And it does appear to work well enough for me to publish some of the pictures I have taken. Should anything change, I will update however for now, good job.

Simple, easy, well laid out options that are fun and deliver amazing results! Some similar apps can have less options a few may seemingly have more, but this one has more of the go to options I find are most important to me. Some other apps options can be unclear on what it’s used for or how to implement the option. It’s frustrating when I cannot figure out what to do to make it work, and and what exactly it would do... No problems of that nature on RookieCam! I have had people ask me if some of my photos had been professionally done, I answer with a smile, no, it’s me and rookie cam! I have been asked to edit pictures for people, and they can’t believe the results. I tell them to get rookie cam after they see how easy it is to make their pics look “professional” with Rookie Cam! Really can’t love RookieCam enough!

Although I’ll disclose that I did, indeed, come here for a free filter, I do want to add more than just a star rating to RookieCam.

I first came here from PicsArt in search of more filters to use, and was incredibly thankful to have found about Rookie Cam. RookieCam has many useful filters and , with a helpful, easy-to-use, and visually appealing interface. I love photographs to capture memories and sometimes to keep them fun. I’m definitely not a pro. Throughout the years I’ve had several photo apps on my iPhones which did not upgrade to the constantly changing iOS. I have had an iPhone 7 and Rookie Cam for the past three years, and I am absolutely satisfied. There are so many filter options to enhance your photos. No glitches whatsoever thus far. It’s been so easy to use. It is my #1 go to photo editor. Hopefully it keeps upgrading as phones keep changing.
