Pitch Counter & Radar Gun Reviews

To all the people saying it dosent work at all or it’s garbage read this. First pick your distance on where to throw (to unlock all of them pay 99 cents), Next you want you or your friend to hold you phone (friend recommended), right when you release the ball hold the button and when the ball hits the target release right away. This is mostly accurate and actually works. So it takes your calculations on where you are standing and when you hold and release the button. I would say PitchCounterRadarGun is pretty great. You just got to use it right (:

This radar gun is actually really accurate if you use it right. The one thing bad about it is that you have to buy different pitching lengths. If you’re on the go and you left your radar gun I would use this but you couldn’t use it quickly with 13 year old pitchers and under because you would have to buy shorter pitching lengths.

PitchCounterRadarGun counts integers but more importantly doesn’t get distracted and forget like I do. I haven’t tried the radar gun but the premium price is worth it to have an ad free counter. Premium is cheaper than a physical counter at my local sporting goods store and I don’t forget my phone in the car.

The only downside is having my phone out at all with the kids around - I prefer to avoid all phone use while coaching. Though, the large hit box means I can keep it in my pocket while counting.

PitchCounterRadarGun is a great pitch counter and a great radar gun but whenever me and my friends were pitching something did not seem right with the speed but if something was off it was not by mutch I would highly recommend PitchCounterRadarGun to people that want to know there velocity another problem is that you have to unlock a premium version to get the full app you can’t change the distance of the mound unless you get the premium version that kind of upset me. Over all this is a great app I use it all of the time!

We have been using PitchCounterRadarGun for several pitching sessions and found it to be accurate to about 1 or 2 mph. The trick is to be very accurate with the release of the ball. If you’re not standing in a good position to capture the moment the ball is released then your times will not be an accurate reflection of the pitching speed. In my opinion this is a fantastic app.

I’ve only been using PitchCounterRadarGun for about three months,so far so good. I think the radar is pretty accurate for an app,as for the pitch counter,that’s as easy as pie. It’s definitely handy for assistance coaches to keep track of your pitchers pitch count. No coach worth his salt should ever allow a young kid to blow out his/her arm for a win!! These kids are our future Big League Players,let’s use them wisely!!!

We showed up late for a game last season. In the rush to get people fed, dressed and in the car, I forgot my counter. I found this one online and loved it. It keeps track of not only pitches, but also strikes and balls! I recommend the paid version as it gets rid of the pop ups. Overall, still a great simple, little app. Two thumbs way up!

It can be accurate if you do it right the only bad thing about PitchCounterRadarGun is the adds but other than that it is a quality pitch counter and radar. Also the premium is really cheap but is not that great for when you want to radar your children or even yourself.

I like the concept. App works great. However way too many ads. I get an ad every 8 counts and I can’t have that delay. I didn’t have time to go by an actual counter before the football game and tried using PitchCounterRadarGun. Cause every 8 plays we rotate players and during that ad a play runs so i can’t click the count. So again great concept but the ads ruin it. I can understand ads cause it’s free but there’s just to many.

This is a great app and this is coming from a kid! It is accurate and great for counting pitches. The only downers is that you have to pay to change the distance. Also, their are so so so much adds! Other than that I love PitchCounterRadarGun !

Maybe an idea. How about adding a “MLB distance equivalent mph” display for whenever you are using a non 66.6 distance. That way when you’re coaching little league trying to help batters on their timing you can some ideas of what it means when a little league pitcher is throwing 62mph from 46ft.

This is such a great app. Newest version has created much more flexibility. Pitching distances and speeds have been adjusted. I use this every day for my son’s baseball games. Sure beats a $500 radar gun! And just as effective. I’ve used it at major league games and compared it to the official speed on the scoreboard and I was consistently within one or 2 mph.

PitchCounterRadarGun is easy to use and does exactly what it says it does. Very reliable and doesn’t flood you with in app purchases. When it does, the price is very reasonable and a one time purchase of only $2 usd.

Well I give it two stars because at least the pitch counter works i mean the radar says that I pitch at a max of a regular 628mph and thats not a typo wasn’t expecting much from it but it could at least be reasonable

Awesome app to use instead of paying for a radar gun. Very dependent on your holding and releasing at the right time, but gives a good range/idea of how hard you are throwing. You get the 60 foot 6 inches for free. Pay $1 for other standard distances.

Great app but could use a couple improvements such as a strike and ball counter or something like that. Also a pitching log that would keep the speeds and pitches logged would be nice and that could calculate the average speed of the pitches too.

PitchCounterRadarGun is just incredible! It is very accurate for an app and is worth the premium price. I highly recommend getting for child to practice pitching even a coaching app.

The one thing about PitchCounterRadarGun is I don’t think there is a way to change the distance, like I pitch on a 48 ft mound for little league then a 56 ft mound for AAU so I would like to have the option to change the distance

I love PitchCounterRadarGun and it deserves 5 stars but you can get some better apps for the pitch counter with strikes and balls. The radar gun is a great thing that you can use for free, but you need steady hands. All in all PitchCounterRadarGun would be better than getting overpriced radar guns. PitchCounterRadarGun is great for coaching!

I like PitchCounterRadarGun a lot but I don’t want to pay to adjust my pitch distance because I don’t pitch 60 ft, 6 inches every time and I don’t want to change that with money. Other than that though, it is very nice.

Is very hard to do it was one person but if you get to and they’re very very experienced you have a good chance

Handy app for keeping track of pitch counts. The speed calculator seems pretty accurate. Entertaining for little league and professional games :)

I tested it with a radar gun and it’s pretty accurate

The point of PitchCounterRadarGun is to count pitches, which is difficult to do when ads pop up in the middle of an inning. I get that it’s a free app, but if you think this is the way to get people to pay for it, guess again. Deleting and finding a better solution.

Would you want to be paid for work you did? Btw I throw 101mph.

One thing I noticed after an update is that you pay to change the distance from 60ft 6 in.

Upgraded to the premium version but PitchCounterRadarGun never actually updates me to the premium version. PitchCounterRadarGun tells me I’ve already purchased the premium version and says it will restore it, but PitchCounterRadarGun just locks up at that point.

Works best when you time it perfect

You should never play to find out how fast someone is pitching

Was a great app!! Used it regularly until i got an update and now only have one choice for a pitch distance without paying. Guess it’s only for baseball with the only pitch distance available for free set at 60’6”.

Would be better app if it provided the elapsed time. Not just the mph.
