Not much English and too cluttered for my taste. Watched a free video that lasted maybe 6 seconds. Maybe an update will improve GrandSumoOfficialApp .

GrandSumoOfficialApp allows porn sites to use ad space. I can’t use GrandSumoOfficialApp for its intended purpose of teaching my kids sumo and making them fans of the sport of it’s going to show us low quality porn ads every few minutes.

Come on man it's 2021 let's get it going

“Hide results” matches disappear before I have a chance to view them.

I use GrandSumoOfficialApp to check daily Sumo tournament results but GrandSumoOfficialApp has becoming very annoying. Full screen ads now pop up constantly when viewing GrandSumoOfficialApp. It takes several seconds for a ‘x’ to show to turn the ad off. Often the ad opens automatically in a browser which then requires exiting that page and reopening GrandSumoOfficialApp again.
Also, it would be nice to see who is leading the basho race during the tournament.

Most of the time GrandSumoOfficialApp will let you keep up with Sumo, but it does not automatically refresh, and there are so many annoying ads that are nearly impossible to close that I prefer to not use it if I don’t have to. It used to be a lot better, but the ads have ruined it. Why can I only watch one video per day? The are money hungry but they don’t do anything with the money to improve GrandSumoOfficialApp .

Terrible UI. App makes you back out and click each match video with no option to auto play. Unable able to allow videos to rotate into landscape mode. Last day initial interface didn’t allow access to individual match videos (UI completely changed). Developers please focus on match viewing experience! Move all the news and other written content into another section.

I can’t seem to find the date of the start of the next Basho on GrandSumoOfficialApp. Seems like pretty basic information that would be helpful to Sumo fans worldwide. I’ll keep looking.

This update has made GrandSumoOfficialApp worse by taking away landscape viewing and making the interface confusing and muddled

I’m tempted to delete this. It has next to nothing of value when you can’t upgrade to the pay service.

Good app in many regards, but it is impossible to watch matches without GrandSumoOfficialApp already informing you of the result, which takes away all the excitement. Were it not for that, I'd rate this 5 stars. There must be a way to fix that, like don't show the match results on the front page or on the same page as the "watch" page, and don't reveal the result in the "still" of the video before clicking on it to watch.

A good, stable app that gives the non-premium member decent access to the basho. It’s about on par with the Japan Sumo Association website, but not significantly better. Premium membership is ridiculously overpriced, and I’m an avid sumo fan who watches every day of the top three divisions¡ bouts, but I’m still not paying nearly the price they want! That being said, there are significant limitations to GrandSumoOfficialApp (I can only search for one heya's rikishi, unless I cancel my favorite and make another my favorite. The search function only allows you to search for rikishi, not heyas, so that’s limited also. But it does give up to the minute results if every bout, and you can watch one video a day, keep track of each day's matches, and each rikishi's record (though there is no leaderboard on any level).

Love GrandSumoOfficialApp! Makes viewing the matches very easy and can always re watch the matches if you become a patron . I gave 4 stars because I would like to find a way to support my favourite rikishi! Go aoiyama ! For 5 dollars a month it is worth it !

I was very excited to see that this type of app had been developed. I enjoy watching the sumo tournaments on the TV Japan channel in the U.S. and it's great to see an app-based option for those who can't watch the sumo otherwise. I would also consider paying the monthly fee but only if I could watch the tournament each day from start to finish, just like a regular broadcast. Also, I would want the option to listen to both the Japanese and English commentary. If those changes are made, I would become a paid subscriber. Great job with this first attempt though!

Contains all the info you need to keep up with the tournaments. Highly recommend subscribing to the monthly premium subscription if you, like me, don't have any other way to watch the matches. I am thrilled that Nihon Sumo has made this available.
Knocking off one star because the interface can be a little clunky sometimes, and there are occasional service outages. I also wish there was a joint venture with an English language media outlet to include news articles in GrandSumoOfficialApp, in the same way that MLB's At Bat does. That would make GrandSumoOfficialApp more useful in between tournaments.

I love GrandSumoOfficialApp. It's great for the international sumo fan however it has one MAJOR PROBLEM and that is that you know who wins a match before watching and that kind of spoils the excitement. The red highlights of winners should stop and the thumbnail stills of the match need to be changed from the end (where you can see who wins, to the faceoff or begining). Come-on no one wants to know who wins before watching! I'd really love to throw away the silly mask I've made for my screen and stop hitting the play button before the still immage appears. Slightly longer clips would be most appreciated. Fans want the ambiance.

im english speaking, i want to view older matches but i only see day 15 of the tournaments. how do i watch earlier days? a guide in english would be appreciated. it says english but its really not. i have to know japanese just to know the menu options. im like a child plucking around randomly

Just app is great. When I need to know what a word is they have a glossary to look it up. it’s one stop shop to stay on top of everybody participating and more.

I love GrandSumoOfficialApp as it makes it easy to stay updated on all the Basho results. But it really earns it's keep after you subscribe. Being able to watch every Makuuchi Division match, from the current Basho and past Bashos, makes GrandSumoOfficialApp a necessity for any true Sumo fan.
