Bought it to make adding users easier - no way

I was looking for an easier way to add users than to log in remotely to the Windows server, waiting for the AD manager to come up, right clicking on a template user account that had the correct access that I wanted to duplicate, copying it, and entering the new information.

Nope.

I cannot copy a template account to create a new user. I cannot define my own template to at least put the user into the correct groups and OU, and our user naming convention is not the same as ActiveDirectoryAssistPro ’s, so I have to change it every time.

Also, I’d be ok with the non-aesthetically-pleasing UI if ActiveDirectoryAssistPro were more powerful, but it seems very limited in what it can do.

So, it’s still actually easier for me to log in remotely.

Need(ed) fuzzy search

HUGE timesaver. Excellent for common daily (and basic) admin tasks. But please, please… Incorporate fuzzy search. e.g. When I’m searching for a computer, I shouldn’t have to type in the beginning of its name when hundreds of computers all start with the same name. Also, is there a way to browse containers or OUs? Those have been my only desires for about a year now. Aside from that, this utility has been extremely handy while providing floor support when I’m not at my desk. Thank you!

UPDATE: FUZZY SEARCH!!! YAAAAY!!! Thank you! 🙌🙏😄

Works Well, but Need to be able to select/copy text on search results.

I really need the ability to select/copy the text of search/display results (like computer name and user’s context) so that I can copy/paste them into other apps (like Remote Desktop) when I am working on a support call.

If that was possible, I wouldn’t have to ‘write down’ (on paper?) the info I got just so that I could then enter it into an email and send it on to my users.

During thid COVID-19 outbreak, people are Remote-ing In and they don’t really know the ‘full’ computer name of their Office PC.

Being able to select copy/paste that info would be a tremendous benefit.

Just make ALL text result display boxes copy-able, and you’d have an excellent tool for IT Support staff (like myself) to use.

Huge time saver

I was able to VPN into the office and unlock a users account and change their password while driving (not recommended), but was super easy. Using it in an AD deployment of over 20,000 users.

It works

A bit pricey, but it does work well for admin of user accounts especially reset password and unlock. I emailed a simple question to support on a Saturday and had an answer within an hour.

Works great but missing features

ActiveDirectoryAssistPro works great when I’m out in the field and I get a call that a user is locked out of their account. However, I have to type in the domain password in every time. I would really like to see finger print and Face ID implemented.

*****UPDATE*****
I like that Touch ID and Face ID have been added. However, after I enable it, ActiveDirectoryAssistPro crashes the very next time I launch it.

*****UPDATE*****
After today’s update, Touch ID now works!!!

Will not connect to DC

I'll update this review if I here back from support. So far I'm not impressed. It will not connect to any of my domain controllers. Even though I can rdp from same iOS device. My advice is to not purchase.

iOS 13 killed it

No longer working since it updated today for IOS 13 support. Running dark mode and can’t see a thing.

Any plans to update this?

Are you going to add iPhone X support? ActiveDirectoryAssistPro can definitely use a refresh after a year.

Broken app

Bought ActiveDirectoryAssistPro for 12.99 thinking it would be running good since it's expensive, but the doesn't even work right, can't reset user password, support team tried to help but nothing, in the end they ask for my phone UDID to install a debug build on my phone!!!

Dark Mode Support Please!!!

The product works great, so Kudos for that! It’s made life so much easier. My only complaint is that with the new Dark Mode, I have to constantly turn off Dark Mode off in order to use ActiveDirectoryAssistPro . If it could be revived and fixed it would improve ActiveDirectoryAssistPro greatly.
