This is a beautiful app, it truly is, but I do wish it had the option to purchase a version without ads. The first time I opened the app, I was greeted with beautiful music and the screen informing me...19 Days Until Christmas. I then tapped the presents to see the daily quote. I had just enough time to read the quote and the words really start sinking in...Charles Dickens inspiring me to be a better person, not just at Christmas, but all throughout it the year. I am truly “feeling” the emotions of the meaning behind the Dickens quote when suddenly a full screen ad pops up wanting me to shop for gifts at Nordstrom’s. Ugh, what a sudden and very unwelcome interruption. I get, I totally get that these smaller apps need the advertisements for support, but must it be a complete and total interruption like this? Now the big hot pink box at the top of the screen wanting me to buy a Samsung TV totally ruins the beautiful graphics, takes away from the music and distracts me from the quote. I don’t even want to open the app anymore. I would pay even $5 for no ads in an app like this. If ads don’t bother you, it is a beautiful, wonderful app. But at this point, I have seen more than enough ads in my emails and in my online shopping thus far, not only do I NOT want to see another one, but I am actually put off by the store and items that pop up. There is a time and a place for advertising - this is certainly not it.

Have used and loved this app for many years and decided to put the widget up on my phone. But it is always off by a day or two . When I click on it to get the quote, the number of days updates to the correct number, but the whole idea of using the widget is to see the number of days right on the home screen. Should automatically update itself at midnight or in real time like every orher app out there. The ads have gotten ridiculous now and many not suitable for kids. I love this app and it has become tradition to use it, but it really needs to be fixed. Thank you for keeping it going though! It really is a favorite of mine. :)

So if you're a Christmas junkie, this app is for you. And of course you're a Christmas junkie - or else you wouldn't be here. It's a fun Christmas countdown app that works as stated. Two suggestions for improvement however:

1. The app needs more quotes. I'm about 125 days into this app and the quotes are repeating. (This should tell you that there’s quite a few quotes alone, but there could/should be more) Some quotes are really great, while others are phoned in and using Xmas song lyrics. All in all, it's a cute feature.

2. This is more for fun than anything else. As another perk for paying customers, have a song randomizer that plays when opening the app. “I Saw Three Ships (Come Sailing In)” is great, but if there were some variety, it'd give it that extra panache. OR - having a randomizer ONLY for the 25 days leading up to Xmas might be cool??
