Doesn't work at all

while it will technically turn some text into speech, it is nearly impossible to get it to accept any text or any files. You cannot select 99% of the text files on your phone to import. You cannot paste any text into TexttoSpeech.

My app isn’t reading

I’ve been using this for about two weeks and all of a sudden it just won’t read any of the text. I give it to read. And it also skips when it does.

It used to work great but has taken a nose dive

For some reason TexttoSpeech has ceased to function properly, reading the text in an oddly phoneticized manner. For example “burned” is pronounced “Buh Nud” “Voice” becomes “Vuss” and “vague” becomes “Vugg”. I have changed voices, but nothing seems to fix it.

I’d like my text read in order please

Program will not play my files correctly, constantly jumps around and will not read text in order. I’m talking reading one paragraph and then jumping 13 pages ahead to a new paragraph. Completely unusable.

Started off great but stopped working

I’ve used TexttoSpeech for the last couple months and it started off great. It’s a little choppy and can’t quite read contractions but I understand there are some bugs to work out. The last couple days though, it has completely lost the ability to read in a way that is understandable. TexttoSpeech is useless until it get this bug worked out.

Great… But

This is almost a perfect app however it throws you off by spelling any word that has an apostrophe in it and it reads page numbers without telling you it’s a page number so if it could stop doing both of those things it would indeed be 5 star worthy.

Great, but not quite there

I’ve been searching for a TTS app that I can easily use. This one meets all except one of my requirements.

It has a dyslexic-friendly font. It has comfortable, natural sounding voices with relatively good pronunciation. It has speed control. What it’s missing (or 🤞 I haven’t found) is text sizing. The text is too small for me to follow without restrain. 😪

Decent

I guess you get what you pay for. I got this primarily because it was free. I wasn’t about to spend over $130/year for Speechify. I love that this is free and you can just paste directly from your clipboard. Unfortunately it’s not the best AI. It somehow doesn’t understand contractions. So that “doesn’t” that I just typed would be heard as “dozen T”.

A Great Significant Tool

Thank you for adding the only REAL useful TTS app! It's very easy to use providing everything for free without ads!

You can save files, use Apple's high quality voices, change pitch and speed super quickly! Thank you developer for your dedication to a great ad free completely free app, pls let us know if we can donate to a Patreon or something :)

Needs app intents and Qwen 3 voice for custom voice creation

TexttoSpeech is a good idea and one day be the SOTA go to

Really wish it would support epubs

The voices are great though. Very natural

High recommended

Awesome if you have Internet issues or just don’t like paying money in subscriptions, great app

Wow impressed

Finally a reader that actually works with PDF’s with pictures

Finally!

It is so weirdly hard to find a decent free text to voice reader. This is fine and functional and free. Thank goodness.

Excellent app

This is an excellent app. There is no reason for complaints TexttoSpeech is free and is rock solid. Aa a pastor I go through volumes of material to read so having the option to listen from time to time is fantastic especially while on the go. I will gladly endorse and share to my ministry contacts. Keep up the superb work! Steadfast in the Word…Alfredo

Awesome!!!!

This free program works great. As an attorney, I have to read a lot. This makes my work easier on the eyes.

Thank you so much for providing it.

A Must Have

I love TexttoSpeech and I hope more people discover how invaluable it can be. Features are great and developers actually listen.

Fantastic as a Free App

A lot of these apps require accounts and subscriptions for basic features. Thank you for making a simple app. I wish I could even pay a one time fee!

To developers owners

Your app has been a huge help to me. I have a reading disorder, and it makes reading much easier — I can copy and paste text on my iPhone to listen to books. Thanks to your app, I’m able to read and listen to a lot of books every day. Thank you

THANK YOUUU
