This is a serious downgrade from version 1 of the former USA Manual. The improved version is iPad only, and the developer really needs to make that a universal app and sunset USAManualExpress. Stick with the first version of the USA manual if you have an iPhone. I was seriously disappointed with this version.
Very disappointed. The docs are shown as one long alphabetical list. No grouping as before. Makes it difficult to use. Election news is a waste of effort. I get results from Fox much easier. Phone numbers of congress is nice. But i only need for my state and they are in my directory. Looked at it. Then deleted it. Prefer an update to original (last updated in 2011!) guess they needed money so no more updates to original only can buy new version.
As a lover of the original version, I was forced to the “express” when my iPhone upgraded its operating System to ver 11. Once opening the new version I was faced with a laundry list of texts that in some cases show ten versions of the same title only having to open up each one for the different section of the Document. A complete lack of organization by type or topic. Similar situation for people - want to see presidents, you need to search for presidents only to get them in alphabetical order. Folders and sorted by chronology in office like the old one would have been preferred. Am certain I will not use it as the reference I used to because finding what I need would be too painful.
Some of the info on USAManualExpress is good and useful. However, the news option only gives headlines and a few lines of text but the full text can’t be opened. The arrow to the right of the partial text does not work. Sad
The first thing I am shown when I open USAManualExpress is the fact that trump won the presidency. This is 2018.
I own a few of this developer's apps, including the 1st Edition of this USA Manual, which I paid more than $10 for (with about $7 in-app purchases).
And then POOF, he pulled it from the store, replacing it with this second one.
I bought this, thinking it might be an improvement. IT'S NOT.
1. It doesn't include the texts I previously bought. And though the "rules" were a welcome addition, the first edition was much better.
2. Browsing the categories is very tedious. ALL of the texts, people, etc. are very long lists, and are not organized. Every section and chapter, of every document is just clumped into a big list -- you can't just simply look something up -- you have to search for it. And all the "people" are thrown together -- again, you have to search (i.e. can't just browse the presidents).
3. With a 2nd edition, I was hoping that bookmarks or highlighting might be added (like every other decent e-reader). No such luck.
All together, USAManualExpress is just a big, long, ugly mess. It needs much work.
Very disappointed with this purchase.
The "text" section is very large and needs an index like the original. Liked the original because it wasn't full of graphical crap.
However not able to open news articles ! Can you plz check this out ?
