My experience was bad - real bad. I just installed 50 down and 10 up service from Time Warner. The technician showed me that the speed was accurate. I downloaded this app to test it myself. I have consistently received 1 down and 5 up results and had the technician back to see what was wrong. He suggested I download another app to test it - the result was 48 down and 5.5 up - obviously a very different result. Bottom line, I am convinced this app doesn't work correctly. I wasted significant time due to it's inaccurate results.

Worked well for a long time - then the app ceased finding my home network and instead kept assessing the network speed of wireless at a university that is 20 miles from my home. I found in the end that there was simply no way of getting it to recognize my network and it stuck to the afore highlighted erroneous network. Made me worry that either my iPhone is hacked, or the app is hacked. Either way - no longer using.

Seems to be measuring ISP rather than local router. I checked my admin data on ASUS and had U 5Mbps D 30Mbps. This app gives same measure as Ookla which is the ISP and a basic package, which are U 1Mbps and D 10Mbps. Since most ISP's offer different tiers of service I'm not getting my actual tiered data speed, I'm getting a generalized server speed based on location.
Wifi sweetspots will read your actual data stream on the network you're on at home, not knocking the app but it is too generalized, similar to my review.
