A Must Have App!

I check my internet speeds periodically and especially when things slow up on one of my devices. My internet provider guarantees a certain speed so when it drops significantly I call them. I get great service when I tell them I'm using NetSpeed.

Might be a Scam

Worked well for a long time - then NetSpeed ceased finding my home network and instead kept assessing the network speed of wireless at a university that is 20 miles from my home. I found in the end that there was simply no way of getting it to recognize my network and it stuck to the afore highlighted erroneous network. Made me worry that either my iPhone is hacked, or NetSpeed is hacked. Either way - no longer using.

Great

Easy to use. Clear. I made up a chart and went through the house to map my Wi-Fi signal. Now I know where to place my Wi-Fi booster.

Very satisfied

Works great, very handy when dealing with my provider about what net speed I’m getting. Very satisfied

Great!

It easily lets me check speed on 2.4 & 5G bands at various distances from routers. Helps me tune router placements

Works every time

Great tool works every time...

A great app

A great app, it helps me keep track of our rural line speeds.

Awesome

It works great!

Works Great

Its fast and its easy to use.

It seems to be more accurate than others I've used because it shows my speed slow down during heavy use, thanks to Uverse.

I'd give 5 stars if it had more available test servers available.

Excellent and Simple to Use

NetSpeed provides a very easy way to test the speed of your internet, both uploads ands downloads. It is very easy to use, and provides excellent documentation of the various elements of the connection. Each test is retained in history, and is easily forwarded to your internet provider if you have any speed issues.

Nice try

Seems to be measuring ISP rather than local router. I checked my admin data on ASUS and had U 5Mbps D 30Mbps. NetSpeed gives same measure as Ookla which is the ISP and a basic package, which are U 1Mbps and D 10Mbps. Since most ISP's offer different tiers of service I'm not getting my actual tiered data speed, I'm getting a generalized server speed based on location.
Wifi sweetspots will read your actual data stream on the network you're on at home, not knocking NetSpeed but it is too generalized, similar to my review.

Test

My experience was bad - real bad. I just installed 50 down and 10 up service from Time Warner. The technician showed me that the speed was accurate. I downloaded NetSpeed to test it myself. I have consistently received 1 down and 5 up results and had the technician back to see what was wrong. He suggested I download another app to test it - the result was 48 down and 5.5 up - obviously a very different result. Bottom line, I am convinced NetSpeed doesn't work correctly. I wasted significant time due to it's inaccurate results.

Helpful

This little app has helped me troubleshoot wifi issues with software (on my laptop) as well as with my devices. Comcast support has been more responsive about a couple of service calls due to my fact-finding using SpeedTest

Ookla Speed test

I have used NetSpeed many times in many places. It always lets me know with an unbiased reading. The history is also important. It helps to know what you are getting for your money concerning wi-fi promises of speed.

Simple and straightforward

This is a simple straight forward speed test, no frills , shows ping, upload and download times and stores into history. Is accurate when compared to other tests.

By

Failure to run after Update

TCP (9) communications failure after most recent update causes app to fail after ping test. Worked well prior to this. did not wish to down rate product, but saw no other way to provide feedback. Please advise. Else must downgrade product in the future.

By

Reliable and independent

When I noticed that my other speed app is now "sponsored" by Comcast, I knew it was time to get a new speed app. This one works great, and the speeds reported are much more in line with what I'm seeing on the screen.

Pretty good

Fast, simple, gives good info. Numbers seem accurate. Some minor ads on bottom but not annoying. Good history reference. Could use some additional U.S. servers & world servers. Concerns me a little that it pops up my hidden wireless SSID and ties it to location on maps but nice tool.

Works as advertised

No real problems with it...I use it mostly to check that the wifi is working.

As such, I'd like to see an option to do a very quick version of the test. But that's only a nice-to-have.
