Pre order but can’t play

2024-10-11

I was notified three days ahead of time that the game was open and already downloaded on my device, so I loaded up the game an account and lo and behold. I can’t even play the game because it says under maintenance until the seventh today because the game was made it’s tomorrow so I don’t understand why I can’t get in the game or why it would notify me that it’s available to play if I can’t play it, but this is confusing. Why would you notify us if it’s not a furnished it just says under maintenance.

Awful money grab

2024-10-17

I mean when you see Disney you know it’s a money grab but this goes to the next level. With super basic gameplay, awful art, yes I know it’s going for the pixel look, but even for that it looks bad. It’s a gacha game but with almost no ways to get in game currency to get more pulls from the gatcha. The difficulty skipped stupidly at bosses forcing you to grind and/or spend money to get more pixels to level up your characters and the saddest thing of all is it’s only 3 stages long right now. You can play everything the game has to offer in about an hour then you can try the hard mode but that’s crazy hard so back to giving them more money to beat the hard levels.

Stamina System is Busted

2024-10-17

You have 50 max stamina at the start. After you clear the very early stages of the game it will cost 10-20 stamina to play 1 stage, which takes about 20 seconds to complete. Your max stamina does not increase hardly at all either, mine is at 60 now at character level 15.

The game loads you up with stamina potions early on as you progress through the story. However, they dry up pretty quick and then there is no way to consistently obtain them without spending money.

I don’t mind spending some money to support games that I like. I even bought the monthly pass for this game. However, having to buy stamina pots to play the game for more than 2 minutes at a time is pretty ridiculous. I get why they did it. They don’t want free to play players to be able to slowly grind out the materials, they want them to spend money on them. But, if you don’t allow people to play your game because of such a limited stamina system, people are just going to not play your game.

It’s 2024 but this game isn’t

2024-10-13

Mid game carried entirely by the Disney IP. Stamina system is bad - recharge time is okay (1 per 3 mins), but capped at a low 50 stamina to start so it makes a poor match. When you go to sleep you’ll cap stamina in 2 hours and wake up to use all 50 stamina in 2 mins. Stamina cap does increase as you level by 10 for every 10 levels, but leveling doesn’t refill stamina. Lack of content makes it boring as you can beat all game content in two days. It only has three stages at normal and hard mode. After that all that you can do is farm bonus stages… 2 days into a brand new game and you’re stuck farming mats. Lacks both character and enemy variety…in a Disney game!

Can’t truly speak to the p2w aspect of this gacha game since there’s no content, but you can beat all three hard modes with your first free 10 draw characters, so that’s a plus for f2p. Spark system at 50 with 4% rare pull rate seem reasonable. You’ll eventually want 4 copies of each character for ability unlocks but after that it’s just stat increases. Daily free currency seems low but not enough time has passed to know how many 10 draws we’ll get each month.

A little sad

2024-10-17

I was expecting so much more and I should of known better. It does have nice art concepts and maybe future plan, however it’s not necessarily “fun” when you have to wait 20hrs for idle rewards witch it is not the wait it’s the amount you get for that wait that is not ok! It takes 30 level pods to level 1 time, but only get roughly 150 pods from a 20hr wait time. Only 10 per each stage you beat. The energy system on here is garbage and I personally would love for it to go away. I see how it looks amazing though. For the future though you guys got a lot of work that has to be put into this for this to be 4.8-5 star rated game. Which I do hope and see hope for in the future, only if you guys listen to your community and heed what we are saying and don’t just go for the money. I would be up to paying more for something that y’all genuinely put your time and consideration into and wasn’t just taking money from people. Which so far hasn’t happened yet! For now though I am very dissatisfied with what is here and will be back in a few months to see if anything has changed otherwise it’s on my 2 or less star list for me!

Great start

2024-10-13

This game has a great art style and the core gameplay seems like a good start for a mobile game, but as of right now the game feels almost empty? There’s a lot of cool concepts that feel half baked and as of right now without spending money the mid game is a waiting for energy to refill simulator. Also the following system and the ability to send postcards seemed awesome until I realized they give you a list of about 7 sentences/words to choose from and that was it, at that point all the cool stickers and customization for the postcards doesn’t matter because all I can say is “Thanks!” Or “I had fun adventuring today!”; I think given enough time this game could be really fun but as of now this game feels like a B-tier Gacha game lacking enough content to even warrant spending money on.

Great game though needs major tweaks

2024-10-13

Energy system is awful, higher levels require 20 energy for 1 run and leveling doesn’t increase energy max ? Like ok great I’ll wait hours for my energy bar to refill to blow it on 20 seconds of gameplay. Also not much at all to do. Fighting system is pretty cool but the game is just extremely basic and extremely Grindy with no dungeons or arena or any real goal besides the story. Rewards for leveling up have to increase from a measly 10 diamonds, I’d rather get nothing if you offer us almost nothing anyway. Leveling again starts taking so long you start logging in, wasting all your energy, then leveling up a unit 1 time and repeating, “fun”. Overall really cool game with a cool UI and concept, but just so basic and boring, devs need to try their own games before releasing and see if they actually have “fun” while playing instead of dashing to create transaction shop.

The name of the title says it all

2024-10-13

So, this is definitely a Disney Themed Pixel RPG. You are fighting monsters spawned from the darkness and have different game worlds being impacted. Unoriginal, but I wasn’t expecting Final Fantasy IV levels of writing from this developer.

The art is a mixed bag with some characters like Maleficent looking great and Baymax looking like an amateur was given the design green light.

The game has energy/stamina and various ways to improve the character - nothing genre defining. You work your way through three worlds with a team of five- I do like the turn based battles and abilities.

The best part of the game is the ability to reroll your initial team u til you get the three star you want (only get one). All gatcha should have this. Unfortunately- after you use the freebies a ten pull is over $20 and the monthly pass doesn’t give you enough for a ten pull in 30 days, which I believe it should.

I still had fun clearing all the content, but I got lucky with my rolls. I recommend staying F2P.

seems…unfinished??

2024-10-13

look, this is a pretty solid game. graphics are great as well as sound design, but there’s hardly any characters. not to mention, there’s only 3 worlds with around 18 levels each which you can breeze through pretty quickly and after that there’s “hard” variations of the levels from each world you completed.

it just kinda feels like this game was rushed considering the lack of content, but i plan on continuing to play and hope there are some major updates in the future with more characters.

EDIT: if you find this game falls flat, i would highly recommend Disney Magical Kingdom 2 on nintendo switch. It’s a disney rpg (no pixel graphics) that has 1000x more content. bringing this game up because i’d like to see the devs incorporate the world unlocking system where you can actually visit a world and meet new characters instead of “unlocking” a world and only being able to battle in it.

lots of quality of life adjustments need to be made. i’ve come to realize the devs are definitely relying on gacha to make money, which isn’t smart. nobody wants to spend money on a gacha game with minimal content. you have to add engaging content to give people a reason to pull gacha.

i’m also bumping my review down from 4 to 3 stars. yes, i still play this game, but the content is nonexistent. this could be a great game. devs should’ve waited to release this and worked out game mechanics and added more content. this feels like a project that wasn’t made with any love

It’s alright

2024-10-13

I was expecting us to be able to walk around an open pixelated world, kind of like old school Pokémon games on DS. So far I’m confined to a little square area where I can’t react to anything ( on a fun level). The major appeal to me that I thought this game would have was the ability to walk around an open world along side other “real” players and capture different Disney characters. The game at its core right now is decently fun to pass the time, but falling short on what I had imagined it would be.

ACTUAL review

2024-10-11

Let me start by saying, the game was going to launch at the same time no matter when the download occurred. People are just ignorant and expect everything immediately.

Game is fun, but my criticism comes with the stamina. Enough for 6 missions and you have to buy more. This is just plain bad development and greed. Level scaling is rough and leveling materials cost 20 SP per run when you’re allotted 60. This needs to be changed or the game becomes unplayable for F2P players.

Fun gameplay but kills battery

2024-10-11

The gameplay is great. My main issue is that I’m finding my iPad to get burning hot while playing this game. I even lowered the graphics down to low. I have an iPad Air 5th gen so this game should be able to run at high quality with ease. Otherwise, game is great. Straight up RPG gacha game with Disney characters. Looks great!

Solid but could use work

2024-10-13

Like all mobile games, this game pushes micro transactions pretty heavy. I completed the first world and it doesn’t seem there is a whole lot of game other than enemies scaling really fast to push you to pay to upgrade your units. Great artwork, I enjoy gacha games but you need to be able to earn a plethora of the in game currency for them to work. Disney, you have a solid mobile game on your hands but do not let greed ruin it please.

Very fun

2024-10-17

I play this game a lot and i was super excited for the release than it ended up being 40 minutes of gameplay mainly because of donald duck being overpowered. I (luckily) havent ran into any bugs, the game runs smooth and is just awesome looking. But one huge problem is the repetitiveness. I beat 3 zones just to be met with the start, but harder. Beat that and its the second zone. There also arent many enemies, you can find all if them within 2 hours of gameplay. Another problem is its very hard by free to play. The crystals are hard to get and i have to summon 50 times to get a character even though a 1 star could do better. But the gameplay is great, i just wish there would be more stuff to do. The 8 bit style is really nice, and the animations are amazing. I also have lots of ideas that would fit in to this game. Just mainly add more characters like wreck it ralph or moana or even the gnomes from snow white. All new characters would be awesome for this game im sure of it. I hope this helps with any people getting DisneyPixelRPG soonand helps the creator of the game make it better for everyone. Thank you for your time.

Very little rewards with little to no energy.

2024-10-13

It’s a nice little game. Although, it just released and obviously the game will need some adjustments and can’t expect much right off the bat. The only things that I have issues with are the rewards given per stages/missions are so little. The stages takes up a huge chunk of your energy to the point where you can only run missions 2-3 times at most. A few hours for full energy refill, but 1-2 minutes of playtime. It would be nice to cut the amount of energy consumed by half and/or give a little more rewards.

Good launch, a couple text issues

2024-10-13

Overall a solid launch for a new F2P mobile RPG. I like the “game within a game” premise, it’s kinda like Kingdom Hearts in that way and Mirrorverse that allows for a lot of different variants for Disney’s many characters. There are a few visual glitches like buttons overlapping where they shouldn’t and text being parsed improperly but nothing that a couple updates can’t fix. Hoping that there will be more game modes outside of the story in the future, though. There isn’t much social gameplay yet so maybe some kind of PVP or leaderboards would be very welcome!

More of a Beta than a Full Game

2024-10-17

I will start by saying the designs and animations are very fun to watch. Each one seems to be decently unique and there is some love here. However, it’s clear this game was far from finished. There are numerous text errors, only three short worlds, and over all very little content. The potential is there but the game absolutely needs more time. There’s definitely not enough here to even think about investing any kind of money into. I’d check back this time next year to see if it’s grown into an actual game.

Will change to 5 stars if…

2024-10-13

This game is super fun and honestly very F2P friendly. My one and ONLY complaint is there’s not enough to do post launch. I’ve already beat all 3 chapters on hard so I’m just waiting for new content…hopefully they add some other stuff to do soon. The complaints about the energy system are false. They do raise energy cap upon every 10th level and the energy regains very fast. I’ve been enjoying quite a bit so far.

Disneys FGO

2024-10-11

3 story chapters in and 3 of the launches top characters so far, I and thoroughly enjoying this game and will continue to play for awhile if not for good! The FGO comparison comes in terms of the general story premise, the variants of the characters and 3 main combative types, building up mana and improving their level and skills. Maybe if there was better animations for characters ultimates would enhance the gameplay, but otherwise it is fun and easy to get into so far!

Sooo gotta pay to even get 1 gotcha

2024-10-11

So I know it’s silly to complain on here but to even get more than the first 10 characters you have to buy paid crystals. The game even calls them “PAID” crystal. Unless I’m a moron, which could be, you can get a 3 star at the beginning and hope you don’t want to drop cash into the game. Just sad to see a money grab because the game is really fun.

Great And Amazing Game!!!

2024-10-17

Not only do I LOVE the dang art style of pixels, but I also love the battle system and the way it works (just trying to figure out how to target a singular enemy like in the tutorial)! It's a very simple, but strategically unique battle system and you have to use your brain I love games like that (not to mention that the first boss was stressful but fun)! Also I don't understand why people keep complaining about the 1 DAY MATAINENCE, CAN PEOPLE NOT JUST WAIT ONE FREAKING DAY FOR THE GAME TO COME OUT THAT THEY JUST HAVE THE NEED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT?!?!???!??!?!

Suprised.

2024-10-17

I have played many rpg/gacha games throughout my life and this one really suprised me. It introduces a story that is actually interesting and fun to listen too. The story depicts a multiversal world that bring so many characters from different games and Disney that make a wide variety of dialogue. The Wii aspects of the people you follow being in your world is very new and exciting. But my favorite part has too be the insanely good graphics and battle style that takes me back to early rpg games.

Adorable! Great game<3

2024-10-11

This game is a super cute RPG with a great story. I pre-registered and got my rewards with no problem! The game is fun and mindless and I absolutely ADORE the art and music. It’s very cozy and my new fav mobile game right now💕💕the only drawback is it’s a gacha game so it’s difficult to get cool characters without spending money, but you are able to level up the rarity of free characters so it’s not a big problem. Definitely recommend this game to Disney fans 💅

great game so far

2024-10-11

I am currently at level 13. I also have some pretty high leveled characters. really enjoy the game so far but there are a lot of different things that could be added to improve the game. I understand that the game just got released so that’s why my expectations are pretty high for the future. I hope there will be more open world aspects added to the game. Also more interaction with other players would be fun. so far great though.

Great start, but could use some changes

2024-10-11

This game is very good! I really enjoy playing, and it has an awesome feature to be able to send messages to people you follow. However, the auto battle feature is a little broken. When putting it into auto battle, it only causes your team to attack, but not defend or use special abilities to heal your team. I have to take it off of auto battle to use the healing abilities. Also sometimes the abilities do not work and the team just attacks.

Also I do wish I could zoom out on the map a bit more, as well as in the story maps. Everything is zoomed in a bit too much, and I’d like to see the story maps more so I wouldn’t have to drag the screen to replay old levels.

Otherwise, this is an excellent game! I’m looking forward to improvements and future events!

Energy

2024-10-11

I love this game! It’s great not just because I love disney and all of its characters but because of the gameplay, the upgrading of the characters and just the graphics as pixel art is one of my favorite types. I just have one gripe with this game so far and it is about the energy, yes I know that most mobile games do have a energy cost but the way that I can barley play anything before the game is asking me to refill my energy bar is baffling. If I just had 100 energy minimum this game would be a 10/10 mobile game. Great job at making this!

My opinion/ plz add

2024-10-17

So I played the game and it’s actually fun. The mechanics and art style is pretty much what most good rpg are. The thing I like most about this game is that within 30min-45min I use up my energy and do my quests/grind stuff; then I repeat the following day. So basically i play for an hour then I don’t open it up until tomorrow. This is definitely a grind kinda game but not for the entire day, so if your looking for something to play from like 8am-8pm this not your kinda game, but if u check like 4x a week this definitely your game. One thing they should add is on the friend system the NEED to add like a Guild or BFF system were I don’t have to scroll so far on my friends list. My ratings for the game ART(9/10), MECHANICS(10/10), STORY(7/10), CUSTOMIZABLE(8/10). OVERALL (8.5/10)

Ignore all the bad reviews!

2024-10-17

Too many people are rating it 1 star instead of the deserved 5 star that it should have ONLY because there was a minor 3 hour delay at launch do to server issues. They quickly fixed the issues within several hours, so if you see any review on here that is 1 star and complaining about server issues then those people aren’t even rating the actual game.

The actual gameplay is a ton of fun! I would recommend that ever try it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
