I was charged twice in the same month. The customer service is basically nonexistent. Now I am suspecting that they updated CoffeeMeetsBagel to a “new” version because there were significant amounts of negative reviews. The pause function doesn’t work. You will still be visible and receive likes. Honestly I am so shock as to how horrible the functionality is for an app this well-known.

The worst and most basic user base of all the big apps, with some astoundingly weird design decisions. until you match with someone you never see their name/handle, only their … job title! There is freeform text but it comes after a bunch of generic stuff so if you want to see any evidence of a personality it's somewhat hidden. And different parts of CoffeeMeetsBagel let you filter by different criteria, even if you pay—bizarre.

CoffeeMeetsBagel forces you to pay for premium or they’ll constantly remind you about likes that they’re never going to show you otherwise. Can’t believe business school graduates run this and don’t realize how user resentment will influence their growth/image/overall success.

I used the previous version of CoffeeMeetsBagel, which has now been deleted from CoffeeMeetsBagel Store, until suddenly Facebook logins were no longer accepted. There was no notice of this change, no opportunity to add other login or account verification methods, and I was given the runaround or ignored on the three attempts to contact support for troubleshooting. I am now unable to even remove my data from CoffeeMeetsBagel . I am currently waiting for a reply from customer service about removing my account data, and my next steps will be to contact CoffeeMeetsBagel Store with my complaint. This kind of app should not be allowed on the Apple Store as long as the customer support remains this shady and shows such little regard for user privacy.

Had CoffeeMeetsBagel for awhile and had better luck when I could change my location. I was able to meet more people but then they restricted that to your current location. Now I barely get anyone in my distance that I haven’t already seen. CoffeeMeetsBagel has always had fake profiles and bots. There’s no verification or security. AND they keep showing you the same profiles over and over again. There isn’t an algorithm to show you anyone matching your preferences. Probably going to delete soon unless they allow us to change our location.

CoffeeMeetsBagel is full of fakes. No one ever gets past hi! They are supposed to send you daily picks. I got two day worth then it stopped. They direct you to a search that even with a subscription you have to buy “flowers” to like someone. It’s a money making scam that offers ZERO connections. Use match or bumble or telegraph or smoke signals you will have 1000% better chances of meeting someone. CoffeeMeetsBagel should be taken down and they should be forced to return money to everyone they scammed.

Their dating site doesn't seem to have many customers. Within two days, I only received one person connecting with me. I joined a different dating site and had within two days 70 people connecting with me. I use the exact same description of myself, and the exact same.

For my blog, I decided to try out all of the different dating apps myself, and see which one actually works. I regretfully did a three month subscription at $106 and literally had only one connection in two days on the website. What a total waste of money.

The best one was hinge. The second was tinder, and the third was bumble, but the absolute worst was coffee and bagels. I'm sure Apple will pull down this review if I go any further, but I do not recommend coffee and bagels to anyone whatsoever. I recommend hinge. And here's why. I contacted the bagel people and they don't reply. I couldn't restore my purchases so I paid $106 for nothing. Let me say that again I paid $106 to an app that won't let me restore my purchases and the bagel people could care less they don't contact me back and Apple completely supports their position. They don't look out for the little guy anymore. Total joke 👎👎

Everything about CoffeeMeetsBagel is fake. The people on CoffeeMeetsBagel and the paid reviews. Bro read the 5 star reviews they all say the word “serious” in them which is how the company markets itself, an app for “serious” daters. The fact that all the 5 star reviews mention the word “serious” is super sus. Secondly, CoffeeMeetsBagel is horrible if you use it for more than a day you’ll understand there is no shot CoffeeMeetsBagel is 5 stars. EVERYTHING is paid and all the profiles are fake or old from people who don’t use CoffeeMeetsBagel anymore. Years ago CoffeeMeetsBagel was really good but they put out a a single update that turned all the basic free features into paid features and everyone deserted CoffeeMeetsBagel . It’s now a ghost town. I recommend finding a diff dating app! Good luck y’all!

I’ve only used CoffeeMeetsBagel for a few weeks but my experience has been a little frustrating. Mostly with that filters for who you want in your results are completely ignored. For example part of my settings is no one above the age of 30, but for the last few days the group it released are all above 30 and the oldest was 38 which is a huuuuuge leap from where I said I’m comfortable with. It does the same with distance. My only guess on distance and possibly the age filters being ignored is lack of local users, but I would rather be shown one profile that matches my filters than eight that do not.

My second irk but it’s more of just a joke is the pop up to pay for a $200 premium account that’s always going on discount for a price that’s still no where justifiable. If you can’t get a good experience for free why would I bother to spend money?

CMB is really what it was before. You need to pay to see your likes, and barely having matches. And if there’s any, most of the time it’s fake profile or chat bot. Unlike other dating app CMB does not verify the profile using any way. I could not link my old account to the new app, but I decided to give CoffeeMeetsBagel a last chance and purchased the platinum membership for 6mo and now I regret it. It is not unlimited suggests, running out of the same filtered profiles in a few days while a few still showing up in the discovery and requiring additional digital currency (the beans) to send a like. This is just not a good practice and scam alike, just trying to get more money out of the user. And I guess this is how a struggling dating app looks like.

It’s complete garbage that I cannot message first anymore because as a fairly average looking guy, I am already being discriminated against since most women on apps are choose the same 10-20% of men. This is factual. Where I used to have a chance is the fact that I could use my personality to get women to match with me.

So that feature was taken away, fine. But now they act like I have matches yet never show them to me when I am actually swiping without me paying for premium. It’s like false pretense. Why even show them in the first place when I feel like I am being lied to about the opportunity. Just as much as you attempt to funnel me into buying premium, don’t you think if I had a couple of opportunities that were positive I’m just as likely to want more of them and possibly pay for it anyway, but not only that, also spread positive WOM to others? It’s become impossible for the average person to succeed on these apps without spending. To be clear, I am not against it. But I refuse to if I am being backed into a corner the way you do at an entertainment venue where you pay the price of a case of beer for one glass. This is not that. This should allow people to get some type of genuine experience and then if they want to go full force, they will feel good about doing it and in the long run, will make CoffeeMeetsBagel more profitable.

CMB launched a new app you are forced to use that has a bug that won’t recognize your account you had on the legacy app. The trouble shooting steps sent in an auto reply support email don’t work either. Earlier in the year, app went down for like a week

If you are a woman over 50 dating sites like this are useless because they are teeming with fake pros/scammers.

While the technology exists to make every user verify their profile none of the dating sites have any interest in doing so because fake users artificially inflate their numbers and make it look as if the site is a place to meet attractive men… almost all of them oddly widowers. Big red flag. This and some other tell tale signs makes It take about three seconds to figure out a profile is bogus. It wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t hundreds, if not, thousands of them.

I am disgusted by this and other sops that could easily thwart scammers but never will. Bye.

Even after a subscription you only get 8 likes a month. They also show you accounts that are inactive for more than 3 days so you waste likes on people who aren’t even active. Make sure to check that before liking. Subscription is simply a gateway to buy more product. You get 20% off to buy likes. I’d go anywhere else but here since other premiums let you like more than 8 people a month. Hard to find one good match with only 8 tries.

I have been matched with a lot off Asian men since they are my type and we both send a like and we start a chat for about a day then they ask you if you have WhatsApp. Then we start a chat for a few days they are nice to you in the beginning. You ask questions they reply but if you want to know more about them they cut you off with some other conversation. Little by little they start talking to you about financial stuff like they want to help you for your retirement and help you make more money. I caught on right away but I played there game to see how far they will go. And they start being hostile and saying you have to do what I say. I always replied I am not comfortable talking about financial stuff and they will tell you that you don’t trust them they even do video calls with you. Every single person I was matched with about 16 men CMB sent me an email that they were reported. For all the women out there be careful who you get matched with most off the men I chatted with were very handsome and the profile photos are fake there background is always somewhere traveling. A good hint to check if it’s really or not the pictures will look more normal like a in there own home or somewhere more natural. It’s a disappointment to pay all this money and most of them are fake I recommend to CMB to be more careful on who is in there platform. Because a lot a woman get scammed by them.

Scam! CoffeeMeetsBagel is designed to collect as much of your $$ as they can, in return, you’ll get a messed algorithm where straights are matched to gays and the other way around. They’ll keep offering you their stupid beans in order to keep chatting with someone even if you are in the highest subscription tier. For example, they charged me for a regular membership and didn’t send me any suggestions only to suggest that I upgrade to the highest level, which I did. Surprise surprise they kept both the $70+ and the $90+ (no refund is allowed). Yet, they are still trying to send my the silly beans every day. And, still no dates suggestions.

CoffeeMeetsBagel is only trying to scam people by buying a membership. You only get a few flowers. The compatible matches. Are awful. if you put a dealbreaker at all their algorithm doesn’t even care and still sends you people that you do not want to talk to. When you try to ask questions to their AI chat thing useless.. I only get CoffeeMeetsBagel as long as I did because I wasted my money and paid for 3 months. I would say eight out of 10 people were fake. If you X’ed someone because you wanted to pass they’d show up in your compatible list again the next day. AWFUL!!!

Needed to uninstall/reinstall CMB due to display bugs. Upon reinstalling, CMB doesn’t allow email login or FB login and didn’t link my phone number before removing login through either method. This is poor planning and a poor user experience. Why would you push an update that locks out users and not notify them or provide a method to transition to the new login system? Also, what’s up with the UI stuck in 2010? Bumble and Hinge have much better UI, CMB seriously needs to step their game up. Really disappointed with this experience as a current Premium member.

I used CoffeeMeetsBagel on and off over a span of three years, in both Chicago and Atlanta. As an African American woman in my early 30s, I was specifically looking for a monogamous relationship with a Black man around my age. While I did meet a few people, I have to admit that I had more negative experiences than positive ones. One significant issue I noticed was with the filtering system. Even though I used the filters to prioritize African American men, my options were surprisingly limited. I tried adjusting the settings, including expanding and narrowing my search radius, but it didn’t help. Meanwhile, my friends of other races would see more Black men in their results—often the exact type of match I was looking for, using the same filters I had selected. I noticed the same problem with Hinge, which is why I stopped using that app as well. It's clear that there’s something going on with these apps, and many of us are becoming aware of it.

I’ve used CMB for at least five years, but I finally switched to Hinge after hearing more successful and genuine match stories from my friends—and also because I got paranoid with the increasing number of scammers on CMB. Hinge’s facial recognition verification tech helps limit catfishing, though it’s not perfect. On CMB, at least three out of ten profiles are fake or scammers. I gave up reporting them because CMB’s security is way behind. It wastes my time to even view or swipe left on these profiles—if there were a feature to hide disliked profiles from the main page, it would help, but unfortunately, there isn’t.

After switching to Hinge, I love three great features that CMB lacks: 1. Fun and personal prompts to showcase my personality, stories and prospects expectations 2. Integration with Instagram 3. The ability to upload videos and voice recordings. It’s just very sad that CMB UI hasn’t changed in five years. I regretted not doing the switch sooner.

I know these apps keep restrictions to make people want to pay for the features. But this is way too restrictive. I wish it was more flexible, and then I was able to actually like people in my discovery without have to use the in app currency that I have to use real money to buy. So not only are you buying the beans, you also would have to pay 20 dollars a month. That's four dollars less than my Netflix bill and CoffeeMeetsBagel ain't no Netflix 💀 I would love to find a match for myself on these apps, but it's difficult if you're someone like me who doesn't want to pay to find love. I don't like that I have to wait until noon everyday to get more potential matches. I had higher hopes from what I heard, but CoffeeMeetsBagel feels like I'm standing in a 1x1 square box.

Slow just like the last version of CoffeeMeetsBagel . I have to tap buttons usually a few times for them to be responsive. As a male you have to pay to see who likes you, which is a basic, free feature in other apps.

They give you 25 swipes but no control on who you see. Guys need a thousand swipes to get one match so it’s just a bad system. The explore page will be beautiful women with healthy bmis but you can’t swipe in them unless you pay 75 dollars. In your stack of 25 however you’ll just get 30 plus year old obese people and as a customer you have no way to set your preferences on bmi. Oh and I’ve had a match that I can’t see and in the last two stacks they didn’t include that person. So that right there tells me it’s a scam. Bot accounts will like you and then they will charge you to view them. If it was real they would put that person in the stack immediately.

It costs either 75$ per year or 100$ per year to use CoffeeMeetsBagel.

Go to hinge, where you don’t have to pay to see who likes you. CoffeeMeetsBagel should tell you before signing up that you have to pay for this basic feature. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Doesn’t connect my existing paid account via Sign In With Apple (hide my email). The separate apps for different regions are such an unnecessary and complicated hassle.

What’s the point of creating a new app if it’s exactly the same, just the icon is different ..

They even send you notifications saying that you’ll see someone who liked you in your daily bagels and they send one like that on most days. Only to find out that despite having some people who liked you, those people are stuck behind the paywall and in fact NEVER show up in your daily bagels. There’s essentially no way to actually end up in a chat anymore unless you pay to see those who liked you. It’s a pointless app. It used to work even in 2023. You would see your likers in the daily bagels, then they decided to take that away, gutting all functionality for free users.

Bifurcating the dating app is a big mistake. My coffee meets bagel as it’s rivals supports different regions when you’re traveling and/or living somewhere outside of your home state. Coffee meats, bagel used to support making mattress in different regions and not be relegated into the sandbox that you live locally. I hope they change it soon.

DO NOT PAY FOR CoffeeMeetsBagel. Literally had the same like in my list for over 2 months. Never appears in my stack. Constantly throwing ads to get me to pay. Uses my like to advertise through push notifications all the time yet gate keeps them from my stack.

CoffeeMeetsBagel doesn’t want you connect people they just want your money. Plenty of bots and fake profiles. Also one of the most expensive subscriptions. Save your money and your time. Get on anything else.

Still shows your likes clouded out and doesn’t show your likes in your suggested. They are potentially in your discovery, but you can’t tell who liked you and you have to pay for likes in the discovery.

Bumble/tinder/hinge all function much better lol

CoffeeMeetsBagel only shows the same list of people even though there are probably much more users. It uses some weird algorithm to pick what you see so it doesn’t even matter if you specify the age or ethnicity. It decides what is appropriate for you based on what you are. For example let’s say a 30 year old wants to look for 20 year old he will only he shown people closer to his age. Don’t pay for CoffeeMeetsBagel until they become more transparent and fix all the problems.

Every other profile is fake. No customer support. No way to verify matches. They will sell you useless “beans” that you will waste on a “recently widowed” scammer who will send good morning/good night texts and never directly answer a question. Then try to sell you crypto. Do you know how much information a scammer can glean about you with only your phone number? Stay far away from this (cr)app.

CMB doesn’t have any place to indicate gender as something other than male or female. I’m a transmasculine person who has had a double mastectomy and taken testosterone. I still look like a woman, but a breastless one with hairy legs. I’m getting a lot of matches because I look like a “normal” female in pictures, but I’m having lots of awkward conversations with men who expected me to be a normal female. I feel like I get more matches of a similar education level (I have a PhD) with CoffeeMeetsBagel, but it’s nearly useless if I can’t indicate myself as what I am. Having uncomfortable conversations over and over where I’m expected to be something I’m not means I have a negative experience most times I open CoffeeMeetsBagel .

I used CmB per a recommendation and payed for the service. As a subscriber you will get mostly low engagement or scammers, I also use hinge and get a lot more dates with much higher quality matches. I am definitely disappointed with the service, especially because it is as costly as it is. I would recommend anyone looking for dating apps stick to mainstream apps like Hinge or even Bumble.
I didn’t give 1 star on the basis that you can meet new/real people, but there are much easier and more effective ways.

Is this the same CMB just “new”?! ‘Cause it seems like the same exact app as the old one, as in, equally ignoring my dating preferences that I’ve spent time carefully adding into CoffeeMeetsBagel . The same app that shows my profile to people outside of my preferences, so I get likes from people I decidedly DO NOT want. I guess it is. Which, for the record, if the CMB product managers understood their jobs, would know that it actually harms the people who “like” my profile assuming I’m interested in their profile; I’m not. All of this means it’s equally as frustrating and disappointing as the previous app. Just so I’ve got this straight: New app, same name, MUCH HIGHER COST for the same sub-mediocre, anti-user experience. All these apps care about is earning a buck off of your loneliness.

I get gatekeeping features, but it does feel nearly impossible to get matches on the free version. You can see a handful of profiles to like each day. I know it’s not worth paying for premium based on the reviews and know I’d only be disappointed seeing my likes. I don’t know why but it also really rubs me the wrong way that the refer to people as bagels, it feels really dehumanizing and makes it feel like it’s not real people on CoffeeMeetsBagel . Ironically reading reviews it does sound like there’s a lot of fake profiles and to me “bagels” feels like something you’d call a fake account. Wanted to like this, but think if they want to keep this alive will need to do some serious reconsidering.

CoffeeMeetsBagel has been great in getting matches and meeting people. My only complaint is that CoffeeMeetsBagel shows the same group of people, frequently. I’m not talking about old reactivated profiles - I see a group of the same people week over week.

So this is an ok dating app. The problem is if you run out of matches it recycles the same people you already said no too. Do you think I’m gonna change my mind?!?

In addition, if you send a like but actually wanted to send a flower it won’t let you; even w back tracking. W back tracking you can only like someone you accidentally didn’t like and vise versa.

Only paid for three months because I received a promo but will not be renewing.

I’ve given CoffeeMeetsBagel a try for a second time and I do have a friend who found her husband, married 4 years fom CoffeeMeetsBagel.. the downside is that there’s not a lot of diversity, it’s mostly Asian men. If that’s what you’re looking for then this is CoffeeMeetsBagel for you. Other apps have more diversity hence my rating. Based on my dealbreakers above only had one person o matched with based on my preference in the 30 days of trying out CoffeeMeetsBagel again. That’s it. My suggestions are people I’d never date, people who don’t share my same religious background or want kids, it’s a waste of both our time to meet if we know what we are truly looking for.
I hope in time CoffeeMeetsBagel gets more subscribers, it’s super easy to use and the idea of bagels in your inbox everyday is fun and less off putting that the hours you could easily spend scrolling through other apps to find people of interest.

As soon as my subscription ended I magically received 8 new likes. And the whole time I had a subscription, it was 0 likes. So I ask what is the freakin point of paying for this service?

Simple and okay features for the free options. I have signed up on and off a couple of times, you can tell there are A LOT of outdated profiles (that I have seen in the past few years) with same picture, old pictures.

I do appreciate the fact that you restrict suggestions to search area and don't force to see profiles outside search area.

I know this isn’t anybody’s fault, but nearly all the women on here are over 25. And that’s fine, but I don’t think I can have a real relationship with somebody with that big of an age difference to me, so I usually skip all of them. I’ve yet to have a single match on CoffeeMeetsBagel.

I tried CMB for 3 months and was able to go out on a few dates. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anyone for a lasting relationship. CoffeeMeetsBagel could work if you don’t have a lot of preferences. For me, I wanted someone with same spiritual beliefs and many times the algorithm would send me the same guys over again. CoffeeMeetsBagel feels pretty easy to use and conversations expire after a few days. The premium is too expensive and not worth the money. If you must, buy only the 1 month premium. I am planning on deleting CoffeeMeetsBagel & trying a different one.

Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is I haven’t had a date yet but it’s only been a few months maybe. For the first time in long time I feel optimistic after being treated so horribly by all the apps owned by match-group (Hinge, Tinder, Bumble, POF and many more). They banned me for life for being myself. People will rage report profiles on there and just because I’m a veteran and had a picture of myself holding my assigned machine gun. Haven’t tried that picture hear admittedly but the people seem so much more friendly and less spiteful.

It’s more authentic than other sites.

I have used CMB for 3 years and always favored it and had many memorable connections through it, for which I am thankful. But recent new update is concerning for me: (1) photos seem to be more compressed than before, losing original color and becoming more blurry; (2) rearranging photos changed from insertion to swap, making it take longer for me to arrange. Why? (3) Platinum features did not bring me more likes. All three areas point to cost cutting and profit seeking that sacrifice user experience. If this continues, this platform will find its way out.

I got CoffeeMeetsBagel September 2023 and met my boyfriend on there a day later. We’ve been dating for almost nine months now and I am the happiest I have ever been.
CoffeeMeetsBagel was confusing so that’s why I took off a star. But no matter. I figured it out and met the greatest human in the world.

There needs to be a better system to weed out fake accounts. I’ve seen a lot of accounts using other people profiles or I match with them only to get an email that they’ve been flagged.

I’ve had a couple relationships that were long term but no more than a year. It’s challenging to date for me because I’m neurodivergent, taking a break from driving since last year and have chronic migraines. I definitely need and want someone who will understand all this and my past experiences because I’ve been through a lot. Thank you for creating an app that’s safe for women to use.

This is the only dating app I’ve seen actually have people that are serious about finding a real relationship. There aren’t a million spam accounts for a change and the matching is pretty decent.

I love CoffeeMeetsBagel. Recommend it. First, unlike other dating apps that forced me paying for membership, CoffeeMeetsBagel totally let me use for free, with some restrictions but FREE. I didn’t pay a single penny. Second, high quality of members. I wished I knew about CoffeeMeetsBagel sooner, so I didn’t have to waste my money on other dating apps!!! But then I wouldn’t meet my wonderful bf now. I’ll tell everyone I know about “Coffee meets bagel” and willing to do free advertising for them from now on. I own CoffeeMeetsBagel a favor. Best dating app! ❤️💕

I was tired of hinge bec of the men I was matching with. CoffeeMeetsBagel seems to have people who are more serious and ready to truly commit if that is what you’re looking for

Almost 5 whole years ago I was sick of the tinder scene and wanted something serious. I was recommended CoffeeMeetsBagel by my boss at the time and low and behold I start talking to the first guy I match with. I know it seems crazy/cheesy, but 4 years later he proposed and now, we’re getting married. Your experience might not be the same, but I am forever grateful to CoffeeMeetsBagel for bringing me to my person.

Yay! I love that CMB curates matches and limits the amount of people you see. I can take a look, like, message, etc. and then go about my day vs being glued to an app swiping for hours. It really makes a huge difference.

Getting curated matches fits my style better and have been a big fan of this approach.

Great interface too, easy to use and doesn’t take too long to get it set up!

CMB is a good place to meet nice people who are looking for a real connection. It’s not as fast paced as other dating apps and has been my go-to when I was looking for a relationship. Over the last 5 years, I’ve had three longterm relationships, and they all started on CMB. My advice to anyone looking to meet someone is to put your best self out there, which includes making your profile look good, and do not be discouraged if you do not match with someone you like immediately. It takes time, like months to years, and many first dates in my experience before you find a person you’re compatible with and where you both want the same thing.

Great app if you’re looking for something serious. If you want a hook up, this isn’t CoffeeMeetsBagel for that.
