Fun Tower Defense Game

The negative reviews saying that you need to make in app purchases to succeed are entirely incorrect. If you need to save up wool (the in-game currency used to upgrade towers) you have to replay some of the levels a few times.
The game is a great tower defense game with incredible graphics and cute dialogue/story. It’s both easy enough to enjoy, but challenging enough to keep you on your toes. It seems like the game hasn’t been updated in several years, which is disappointing since it’s such a fun game.
Some levels are really hard compared to other levels, and some of the choices you need to make to beat that level aren’t always super clear. Knowing where to place what type of tower, and how to redirect the path the enemies take really determines if you can beat some levels. Admittedly, I had to look up some walkthroughs of the levels online to pass those harder levels.

Another great game ruined by in-app purchase mania

Maybe you guys should just focus on writing a good game and charge a fair price for it up front, rather than relentlessly trying to get me to pay more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more money for it. Then I would find that fun, and give you a good rating. But all the cute graphics in the world aren't going to make how hard you're trying to nickle & dime me into paying like $20 to play this little game into a fun experience. You want me to pay money for towers. Then you want me to pay money for "slots" so I can use those towers in the game. Then you want me to pay money for the ability to earn enough "wool" to buy more towers and start all over again. Then you ratchet up the difficulty so quickly that I have no choice but to spend more more money. Except, oh yeah, I do have a choice. I can give you a low rating and delete the game because it's not fun.

It would've been a GREAT game if you could have made it so I could earn my way up through all that stuff by playing well, rather than keep asking me to open my wallet and pay you more and more.

So Fun! Paying for upgrades not necessary

Very addicting! Don’t pay for upgrades, just save up wool! On levels without a fixed path you will need to buy time for ground attacks by rerouting. Create two entry ways with one blocked. When the ground attack gets close eliminate the piece blocking first entry then block the second entry that they where heading towards. Also make sure they have to make a long walk to get to the other entry. Now your main focus is air attacks. Honestly fixed path levels can be harder because you can’t use this strategy. Also I didn’t realize how helpful the flak gun was until trying to beat the levels in Hard mode. Have fun!

Very Great Game! One Issue…

This game I have returned to many times to play just shows how good it is, no forced in ads, the difficulty is not hard yet nor easy it’s a fine balance… until you get to the desert levels which I remember being a little more forgiving, the problem is not with how many aliens you’re dealing with, it’s the booster pad mechanic and balancing that with firepower in certain levels and it’s very difficult if you’re like me and want 3 stars. Though that could just be me being dumb, if anybody knows how to get 3 stars on some of the desert levels, please give me some hints. Otherwise then I slightly recommend either turning down the alien count or (what I would like to happen) you can make the boost tower a little stronger at keeping the other towers cool. After the sand levels is difficult YET possible levels that are fun. So overall just a small issue for me and everything else is completely fine. Thanks!

Needs upgrades/expansions

This game is great but the balance is off. Fire towers are miles better/stronger then any other but are weak to fire type enemys. Strength of towers needs better balance.
Also we need more tower options, there needs to be more options to choose from across all types an especially air defence. All you can use that viable is flack towers an they arent very strong.
We need new maps (no new maps in years). Also for the endless option, how about a custom map? Like, allow a design feature so we can design our own map to fight on and we should be able to custom setup the enemy types that will attack us too.
Overall its a good game but i gave it a 3 star because it can so much better if there were more towers to choose from, better balance in them and at a minimum, allow us to further upgrade them

Ten maps is all after waiting since June/July?

Where's the new maps? Was thinking new maps were coming back in July/August? Halloween maps aren't what was being worked on in summer I'd think.

Flamethrower has been NERFED and limited to ground units ONLY!?!?!

On the verge of being as good as part one....

I'm not a fan of micro transactions and u definitely don't have to buy any here except maybe the sheep doubler.

That being said what I hate about this compared to part one is the tower selection, and inability to turn of aspects that feel gimmicky to me such as towers overheating or tap to unfreeze a tower.

The original Tower Madness is a game I played for years. I loved the x2 fast forward, the fact u had all towers available to u at any time that you've unlocked instead of choosing which towers are available during a match and as someone with a child on the way and a few dogs I can lay down that game for a minute and not have to pause because of a tower freezing..interactive is fun unless you're playing an endless match which are my favorites. Also need more staring out money for endless matches.

I always felt the original set the standard for games on mobile and I feel part two is just playing catch up to a classic.

Love the game ~ Hate the micro transactions

Going on a trip to Europe, I bought this game because I loved the first one and had a lot of hours to kill on the plane. To my dismay this game can’t be won with skill ~ it requires (my guess) multiple purchases. I don’t mind paying for a game but I absolutely refuse to buy into the mentality I must buy to move on or it is simply impossible to complete level ‘X’. Because when is the next level that requires more money? 4,000 wool takes a very long time to earn at less less than 100 wool per failed mission.

Bad stuff aside with the micro transactions. The game is fun, works well and has great graphics, sounds and animations. I am sad to say I am looking for another game with a level playing field for a known reasonable price.

Please just make your game 4.99 and open up the extra slot & assign reasonable amounts of wool for weapons.

It's honestly a good game

The only thing is that I did not have patience to collect wool for upgrades for two guns. I paid 1.99 for fully upgrading two guns(1.99 each) but honestly it was worth it. I love these types of games but this is really the best in this category. At one point I did get a little tired of the game because I couldn't pass a certain level but as soon as I looked at a tutorial, my strategy changed. Now I try to beat my times and try different guns that I find cool. When I downloaded it on my iPad, I even went on to buy all the gun upgrades because I'm trying to fund them to produce more maps! Still waiting.

Dead-End - There is no way for the casual gamer to win

First, I want to say, the mechanics in this game are fantastic. The story background is very funny, and fits well for a tower defense. The ability to upgrade your weapons is pretty standard, though the upgrades are just "ceiling enhancers"...during a mission, you can only upgrade your weapons to the level you've gained. (I think level 6 is the max...). You don't start out with better weapons, ever.

Problem: Regardless of how high your weapons can upgrade, it can't be done without money in the mission. The higher level missions provide inadequate $ to stop the early waves. There's no option to even purchase game $.

Also, there is a time reverse thing you can use, but its useless. Just play the mission again.

Best TD game but needs more levels

Simply put, best TD game ever. People who complain about micro transactions obviously haven’t played this long. I finished the game and the only thing I bought was the wool doubler and only watched a moderate amount of ads. Probably didn’t even need the wool doubler as I was able to upgrade well before I actually needed to. Game play is great and creative and graphics are perfect.

Only complaint is no new levels after four years. Developer goes to trouble to program game but can’t do the simpler part of creating new levels? Would gladly pay for an expansion pack.

You pulled me out of the game for this?

There are upgrades in this game that appear to be available entirely in game - upon clicking on upgrades like this you are redirected to a PURCHASE CONFIRMATION screen asking if you're sure you want to spend money on this! When the in game option states "Purchase now" they are unclearly letting you know they want to charge you real money, not in-game credit, while in a menu that mostly only uses in game credit. Of course they do this without using any $ signs until the PURCHASE CONFIRMATION screen. If you can't tell, I find it very upsetting that charges such as this are attempted to be hidden in a way that would allow children and unaware users to get themselves into an unintended financial situation. Needless to say, despite an entertaining tower defense game, I absolutely will not use an app that has such diabolical in app treachery involved.

Hidden charge

Game is pretty good. Well balanced. And integrates a path redirect function akin to sunken d ums back in Starcraft.

However- I got charged $5 dollars for in an app game Purchase that had no price tag on it and and no confirmation check. What I thought was a basic turret upgrade that I was 'purchasing' with in game currency was actually real money.

Congratulations- your hidden real dollar purchases amongst the same ui as in game 'currency' purchases managed to con me out of $5 dollars. But you have lost me as a customer moving forward.

Install some secondary purchase checks, and partition your real money and in game currency purchases to separate portions of the UI. Intended or not, the current approach seems deceitful. Sums war, boom beach, clash, game of war all have cult followings and none stoop to hiding their in app purchases. You burned me for 5 bucks, whomp whomp- but I'm willing to bet some poor parent is getting told to pound sand because their kid just clocked out $30 in garbages mods- you couldn't even prompt them on screen what the prices for? Selfish and manipulative UI. If you want a solid tower defense game there are plenty out there. Don't risk getting trapped by this one.

It's a shame too- game really is decent

Favorite tower defense

Awesome game, cute premise. The game is fun and remains challenging but is not frustratingly difficult to advance through. I love that this game actually only costs the up front charge. I hate it when a game is "free" and then to actually play it you have to buy a bunch of stuff. I also really like the way they do their advertising; no banner adds to accidentally click on, no mandatory videos to watch between levels, just a 15 sec optional video at the end of every level that rewards you with a difficulty-linked amount of in game money if you choose to watch it. Worth $3.

FAVORITE GAME EVER

I have played through this game and beaten every map three times. Never paid a dime! I wish they would make more maps! I would pay for new map packs. It is a challenging game, but it's definitely beatable, and the challenge is fun! Don't know why people are complaining about not being able to beat it, or about the makers asking for money. I think they ask for money much less frequently in this game than in others I've played (esp. Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes!). I'm just starting to play this through from the beginning again. Really, really love this game.

Great TD Game!!’

This has turned into one of my favorite TD games!!! Very addictive and fun. I’m not sure what the other reviews mean when they complain about having to pay to win. There’s absolutely no need to pay anything. Simply collect the wool and that will get you your upgrades. If you want to see true PTW games try King of Avalon or State of Survival. I’ve been playing those for years and they both take a lot of money to advance.
This is a very simple but great game. Only complaint I have is we need more levels lol!!!

Awesome, hard, strategic, and addicting

This game kept me coming back for more to beat the hard mode on all levels. What I really love about this game is that you really have to use different Strategies to finish different levels. Some towers will get you by certain levels but not others. Many levels will require careful path planning, and be ready to open up and close paths quickly during gameplay to beat levels with little room to maneuver, especially those levels in the desert. AWESOME in EVERY way!!!!!

Wish someone was updating this

Love the original. This one definitely has some nice improvements but they kinda gave up on supporting this game shortly after it’s release. If anyone from Limbic is reading this, the endless mode is broken. Arguably harder than hard mode, definitely can’t get as far as on hard mode, which feels wrong considering it’s supposed to be endless. The starting cash is way to low to get any kind of endless defenses set up, meaning you need to blow a slot on a low tier defense that will be useless later. Endless was my favorite part of the first one and it’s almost unplayable in this one.

Gets dumb quick

Great potential in this game but it fails to stay interesting for very long.

The aliens are all the same once the initial set is rolled out. They all start coming in different waves in each map. At first that seems interesting but you quickly learn that no strategy other than upgrading you missiles to the five shooter is all you need to do for anything. Some boosters or just more missiles in the dessert versions. You can literally set the game down and come back five minutes later if you do that. Plant another missile, upgrade, come back later.

More variety! The initial strategy at the beginning levels is quickly redundant with the missile upgrades.

It's basically plants vs zombies without the quirky fun.

Alien worlds! So far all you can think of is deserts, grass, and snow. Ummm... Space? Asteroids? Different gravity? Weird plants and animals?

The aliens can only attack the sheep? Dull. Let them attack your weapon sites. Add some shields or something then not just stuff you can shoot with.

It needs some character you can relate to. The sheep and Bo are cute... But the player is just a non entity that puts down robot gunnery.

Amazing, never boring game

I played this game for the first time 10 years ago. I recently found it again and it’s as good as it ever was. The mechanics are fantastic and the higher levels are so challenging, sometimes they even look so difficult that can’t be beaten with 4 stars, however, if you play smart enough every level can be beaten with a 4 stars ranking. So sad there was no new maps nor upgrades for several years now... hopefully one day they will come back.

Great game! Updates?

I love this game! It is easily the best tower defense game I have found in TowerMadness2 Store. Easy to learn and eventually offers a good challenge. I have spent many hours of downtime playing this game.
I like that there aren’t many in-app purchases - that business model has destroyed so many potentially awesome games. I am not opposed to paying money for good software, but let me pay one price up front and ditch the in app purchases.
Where are the updates? Last update was three years ago at the time of this writing. Have you abandoned the game? iPhone X support would be very cool.
