This is a great example of how a dev can work hard to successfully build a solid app and a solid rep only to destroy both due to poor communication, a short sighted revenue strategy and disregard for legacy users. The only path of redemption for this dev is to give legacy users lifetime premium access and plead with them to change negative ratings/reviews or a complete rebrand and launch under a different company name with no obvious ties to this app… unfortunate.
Slower than the original, can’t drag and drop, deletes things after moving them at random. I assume the developers didn’t honor the “lifetime” purchase of the last app as well, and the old app was made unusable by pop-ups that you can’t disable. it’s a good reminder for me to never auto-update something that I’ve paid for.
This company is running a total scam and knowingly refuses to honour previous lifetime purchases from the old this app app in this new app.
Do not trust them with your money or your data.
This developer cannot be trusted because he launched his app, charged money from users, abandoned it, and has since relaunched the same app, again asking for another subscription.
No way to import from the previous version, and now 4 times more expensive for a year subscription?! I used to use this app because I liked the product and believed in the dev, now I’ll look elsewhere
One star for these types of developers
When I open app I bought lifetime subscription to - I get popup message to email for code to unlock new version. Been waiting & checking and no reply. When you unlock the new version as promised I will be happy to try it and revise my review.
I really liked the old app, so I paid for the extra features. It had a few qwirks, but was fine for the most part. Now, a new version of PILE is out, making the old very unusable. There is a popup on the screen for the new app and a way to email devs. Since I paid the first time, I was offered a code to unlock everything in new app if I emailed dev. I have sent a few emails while waiting a bit of time in between, but get no response. I guess they just do not care. I liked PILE , but I will not pay again. At least remove the popup from the old version. I think I’ll leave reviews everywhere about this If I do not get a response.
as promised for former lifetime users... scam
I sent the developer an email requesting an upgrade code from the old app (I had a lifetime subscription) and have yet to receive a response. I will change the rating if that changes.
I moved over from the deprecated version of this app because I really liked that app. I noticed that some things are a little glitchy. One big issue is that there’s no obvious way to import items from the old version, so I’ve been stuck having to transfer them over one at a time. Since I have a lot of things saved, it’s become quite time consuming. Another big issue is that some items are not staying in the folders where I put them and then don’t go back when I try to move them to where I originally put them. I’ve also had a few items completely disappear - they aren’t even in the bin. This is extremely frustrating. If these things are fixed, I’ll be happy to improve my rating; until then, I can only give it three stars at best.
Very well thought and sync
