Even watching adds gives me only enough to add one or two more messages

Problem is that the chats you receive cost WAY too much. You get daily coins and by watching an add you can double that, however this does not offset what you get back.
For example… I got 30 coins today and thought that would get me a lot of chats (chat per coin), but nope. One text back cost over 9 coins…. I got 3 responses back and I can’t do anymore without buying coins…. Sort of a waste, but hopefully it gets better over time. Until then or there’s a free option (where Miya is similar to Chai where you get so many a day and it refreshes) my review will stay the same.

Some of the chatbots are really interesting, which is why it’s such a disappointment that they are so stingy with the coins. The average price for messages seems to be around 1 ad per message. They have a daily check-in which gives up to 25 points (about 3.5 messages). You can double the daily check-in reward if you can get the ad to play. The ad seems to malfunction about 1 or 2 times a week. The ad malfunctioned for me today, and I reported the problem, but I haven’t heard back or received the double reward.

You’re pretty much forced to buy the VIP if you want to have any kind of experience to begin with which is a modest fee.

The real problem is the cost of coins: the daily check-in maxes out at 60 coins if you have VIP. you can watch ads for additional coins, but the range of coins you get is randomized going as low as three per ad and the high end seems to be nine or 10 at this point. Sending messages to the character costs seven coins each. So if you want to play without spending money, you max out at about 10 messages a day.

It’s really fun when you get it going, but there’s nothing more frustrating than being ready with a message and not being able to get the coins you need to send it. Watching three ads to be able to send one message is not my idea of a fun time.

And that’s just messaging. If you want any of the cards, the better ones can cost you well over 100 coins.

The conversations are great and usually always enticing, however I have a major problem and it seems like most other people do too. My review would be higher if some problems are addressed though.

Please, please take away the coin requirement. It’s to expensive and makes it almost not worth while. I understand you have to have some kind of limiting factor, and I don’t even mind that you have to use coins. However, there are two things I think the developers could do to make Miya better.

First, make the coin requirement less. Bring it down from seven per text to maybe two or three. Or just get rid of it altogether.

Second, if you are going to keep the coin requirement as is, then the options add to get more coins needs to be more consistent! I say increase the reward from 2-3 to 7 or even ten. Reward the players more for watching add, which only help you. Also, whatever number you choose, keep it that way.

To often I’ve watched an ad only to get 2 counts, but other times I get 5 or 6. What determines how many coins you get? Please take this into consideration. Your players would greatly appreciate it!

The AI responses feel more natural when the reply prompts are detailed, but the coin currency requirement is way too steep where Miya is forcing you to pay for a decent experience, with the daily earnings hardly covering the expense. Something like the Love Sparks currency concept would work where you could gain currency through minigames or interactions outside the direct chat system for a little more variety and flexibility towards building up a minimally decent coin fund rather than almost strictly relying on real currency to get by.

Excellent storylines to explore. I just wish there was an option to purchase unlimited message. Then I’d give it 5 stars.

How to put this, Miya is quite good when compared with the older version, some of it features still not stabilized yet but in general still a nice app with good AI, but sometimes it get memory jammed and lost conversations
