I wanted to give a zero rating but I can’t. After investing in this game for too long and wasting money on it. Out of the blue I was trying to log in and it said that my account is locked. I tried email them about it but keep getting run around about they can’t find my email login or account even when I send in screen shoot about the information. The game wasn’t even that good I am just upset that I actually spend money on it and it was a waste just glad it was only 1 time I did. There is nothing exciting about the game if you want to get anywhere get ready to buy package

They face spam you within the first hour with characters you are familiar with with high cost purchase packs. If you want to support falcom just buy 2-3 of their games instead of the packs or even merch from their site

I tend not to review, but this game has crashed on me so often it’s usually 8-10 complete game crashes a play session, just to complete daily tasks…..this game isn’t even worth spending money on with how often it crashes…sure the costumes look nice, but with the game crashing every 5-10 minutes , it kills any desire to use said costumes…..sure the lvling system is easy…when the game actually doesn’t I dunno…CRASH!-.- I feel sorely disappointed in this game, out of hundreds of games I have played this one actually sadly is now in the top 4 worst….congrats, you made it onto a list I didn’t think any would achieve anymore-.-

I have no idea what Userjoy was thinking releasing the game in this state. I have encountered several tutorial bugs, with one of them completely breaking my game and putting me in an infinite loop. This started when the game crashed when I tried to arrange my formation in the Hero menu. When I restarted the game, the Forest of Trials tutorial reappeared! Going through the prompts gets me stuck in “the boss has been defeated” screen. I’ve data cleared and reinstalled but the bug will not go away. This combined with the several spelling errors and asset switches is why I cannot recommend this game at its current state. This review may change if things get fixed.

This is a complete slap in the to all Trails fans. If it wasn’t bad enough that the anime didn’t do that good of jobwith its lackluster animation and voice acting, now you give us a game where you literally are just watching the characters fight. Not to mention the tutorial takes forever and is rinse and repeat is so bad. Idk how to describe the combat but you click start and the characters literally fight on their own. The S Crafts look God awful. You can’t heal your team nor is their any actual strategy which is dumb when the console games were strategy turn based games that looked so good even on older consoles. I’m extremely disappointed with Nihon Falcom for allowing this to happen after your fans have supported y’all religiously for many, many years. We’ve tried to be patient with y’all, but y’all have spat in our faces one too many times. It started with no Sky remakes, then Zero and Azure get remakes but they’re not much better + no English dialogue, then you put Sky on steam and it has no dialogue yet you charge a lot for the games and now you release the worst mobile game that is a cash grab because y’all are too cheap to actually wanna invest to give your fans what they deserve which is a proper mobile game.

As a Falcom fan I was looking forward to this game but its such a massive disappointment right out of the gate that it makes playing past chapter 1 nearly impossible. The translations are so bad its like they ripped them straight off of Google translate, the UI elements collide into each other, buttons don’t always work, and the menu bloat is just ridiculous. Its like someone made this game with the intention of seeming like a Chinese knockoff game from 2010. The art is wonderful and the combat animations are nice but overall this game is so rough it doesn’t deserve a cent unless a serious overhaul is done.

I was expecting maybe a strategy game like how the battles go in the og games which is my favorite game series of all time but what is this bulls*it I wanted to like it I really did but ofc another mobile game fail I don’t even understand half of it like what the heck is a free retool till you get characters you like but then cost 20 dollars and most of the paid packs are wayyyy expensive like 70 bucks if you want to play trails games go play the og ones on a real gaming console or pc never deleted something so fast I was so sad I didn’t like it cause I fricken love trails and all its characters

Minus a star for no dubbed voices, minus a star for lack of sound. Minus a star boring game play. Minus a star other things. Play the game if you like the anime. But would not recommend spending any money on a game that probably get shut down after a short time.

Horrible translation, riddled with bugs, the store is absurdly unusable for F2P players, it’s unfortunately just a cash grab for whales.
You can’t even complete the event quests because you can’t tell if it’s bugged or just bad translation. Surprised Falcom allowed their IP to be trashed like this

To make this an AFK RPG instead of a tactics game was a huge mistake; there are MANY in the FEH and WOTV community that had high expectations for this debut from TOCS.

This game is SUPER buggy on iOS, it won’t stay open more than five minutes without closing.

It’s just sad to see, I was so excited for this game and I was looking forward to playing. The visuals are very nice, but it’s so unfortunate that the game doesn’t even work well enough to enjoy. Not to mention the shortest of the wars were chosen for this through an anime that already had poor reception overall.

This game is likely to see an EOS faster than Tales of Luminaria, I fear. I really hope Falcom evaluates the potential they have to make a huge success in the gacha market and make an approach that their customer base can better enjoy. Lots of freebies but TrailsofColdSteel constantly closing unexpectedly is just too much.

There are so many that want a good, consistent game for TOCS. Good luck though, because this sadly wasn’t it.

This game feels like a cash grab in every way. Nothing special about it and ridiculous prices on items in the store. Usually don’t mind spending money on these types of games, but it’s immediately obvious that this game won’t be around for long. The anime for this sucked, and this does to. Worst project in the trails series and hope there won’t be other things like this in the future. Trails through daybreak demo is excellent though!

Constantly crashing even when it’s the only app running at random times. New phone, lowest game settings, already restarted multiple times, and full battery. Fun game but yikes.

Auto-chess except you can pull faces from the various games that have come before.

Though that aspect is neat, doesn’t really do much to distinguish itself from other gachas.

And I despise having rewards spread out across multiple dailies and screens. Just give me a few tasks from one or two pop-ups, and claim as one big reward, not sprinkled through out the UI.

I can’t give my time to these free to play watered down versions of a series I barely dabble in. If you could release premium ports of the older games, I’d buy them all and play them when convenient on my mobile.

It’s difficult to enjoy the game. The background music and game stutters whenever you enter a battle, plus the game freezes every so often.

I’ve played indie app games for approximately 9 years, no matter how “boring” the gameplay was, none of the old games has crashed this often.. quite disappointing.

I want to love this game but the current state of it is near unenjoyable. No ability to grind for materials to let you level up your characters. A whole month in and the game still crashes like crazy for no reason, I haven’t gotten to see a whole match in arena because the game crashes. A severe difficulty issue that gatekeeps you from being able to make any progress with a lack of a way to improve your characters. Been playing every day since launch and at the point I’m in story the best team I can come up with is only half of the power that the enemy team is. This is not balanced at all and requires characters to be built up requiring getting lucky in the gacha system. And the micro transactions are numerous and you can trip over a branch without being reminded that this game wants you to spend money if you want to enjoy yourself. It is also an auto battler so there is little to no tactics outside of where you place characters then watch them do the work. Only redeemable factor of this game is the characters and world from the kiseki series.

I thought the concept was interesting but the face the only thing I get to is just do s crafts that pretty un engaging. Maybe i didn’t get far enough into the game. But Falcom needs to find a way to let users actually play instead on pressing only one command. A lot of mobile games have an auto mode that’s optional. But this game literally felt like I wasn’t doing anything but watching the cpu do everything.

I love this franchise the characters and I so desperately want to enjoy this game and engage with it, but it crashes out literally every time I play. Sometimes during a loading screen, sometimes during battles. It’s extremely frustrating and I don’t think I’ll continue until some of these issues are resolved.

I tried to love this game but the constant crashes made it almost unplayable. Try out the new arena mode: crashes. Try to do the latest tower level: crashes. Try to open items from your bag: crashes. I’m willing to redo my rating if they fix the constant crashing.

3 stars for the average. The game currently crashes fairly often for me. Please fix it.

I love the trails series! I played Akatsuki for a long time on JP App Store but was super sad when you guys removed it and replaced it with… this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to play. But the combat is extremely boring, and I miss characters like Lif who were only in akatsuki. I’m glad you have Alfin in here as she is my favorite. Maybe add the reverie characters, I’d love to see Nadia, my other favorite. I played this on JP at first too, but quickly switched over as I noticed the English version came out.

However, I have noticed that my favorite bug is gone! My characters used to glitch out when I played this on JP and they’d turn into pink silhouettes! Please bring back my all time favorite bug!!! Even better, sometimes characters would disappear completely! But I will say I adore the translation issues! Elliot being the Icy Maiden is SO fitting for him! And I adoreeeee the amigo gacha! What a nice name! Spanish doesn’t even directly go to English! Huh… you thought I was serious? No, not at all, not in this paragraph at least. I meant everything I said in the first one. But please, fix the bugs and translation issues.

PS: akatsuki over NW any day… disappointing but I’ll still play

Translation is awful with people getting wrong game title like Claire the Ice Maiden getting Zero Artisan! If you love trails of and want to kill some time, this is great but do not spend money on this.

Although I love playing the game, the connection issues and constant logging out of the game during crucial scenes is very off putting. I got disconnected during my infinite reroll and had to stick with the gacha I was given was really frustrating

It’s not bad but it’s not great. The biggest problem is just how p2p it is. Rates are super low and resources are hard to come by. Game has barley been out and the whales are so far ahead it’s not even fun. The game does look good and it plays like a typical afk game. If a fan of the game series you will enjoy that aspect. Not sure if it’s a mistake but there is one character growth purchase that says it’s $330 and you don’t even get a lot. Crazy cash grab feels. Will see how long this game stays alive. I hope they fix the issues.

Just like many games based off of established ips, this game is really only worth playing if you love Trails of Cold Steel, and ever then probably not. The English translation is not great, the graphics are serviceable at best, and the combat is the same thing you have seen in a hundred other idle games. Also the game doesn’t even seem to work correctly as I got a notification that I unlocked arena but whenever I try to go there it says the content is unavailable.

The story is pretty bland through 3 chapters, and it follows a new protagonist, so it’s not even like the characters you know and love are here.

Also, the monetization is awful. There are 3 battle passes at launch, and there is an infinite reroll that lets you get whatever character you want (which is free in pretty much every game I have ever seen it in) but it costs $21 here. $21 for a 10 pull is pretty pricey.

Even as a huge Trails of Cold Steel fan I doubt I will keep playing this for more than a week, and if I do it will be at the most casual f2p level.

Good game, but crashes too much which ruins the experience

I do enjoy the game so far but the crab stick translation is incredibly off putting. I get the Trails series is a massive text dump but Jesus it feels like the translations were done through Google translate and it just mucks up a potentially great game. Pay for proper translations please.

I just love seeing the Trails characters. Hopefully they will have some crossover and we’ll get Tokyo Xanadu and Ys characters for special events!

Has a lot of fan favorite characters and game play is smooth. Prices are steep even for a ha ha game.

The story of the Northern Campaign is extremely captivating, making it hard to stop

Those who like strategy games will definitely fall in love with this mobile game

It’s very fun to see old faces and new characters have cute designs!!!! But also — Please put Gaius Worzel in the game 😭🍃

Personally I think the game is great. It takes strategy to beat the levels once you get into it. Characters are awsome. Skills look good. Gameplay is fun. Best of all, the gacha rate isn’t bad ans they give other ways to get biggest tier characters. 4.5/5
