Until it is available on Apple TV and Roku it is an inferior product. Should have started with those and then moved to phones and tablets. Will be happy to upgrade my rating when you provide it for those products. Not interested in watching the game on my phone or tying up my phone to watch it on my tv

Rough launch for Victory. First Stars game was perfect - great streaming quality, crystal clear, no latency or signal strength issues…I was pumped! Second game was an away game at Colorado and the very ineffective chatter from the “hockey huddle”. I’d honestly rather watch the game full screen and silent than listen to that. Just an awful idea and execution.

Tonight the “normal” broadcast was back (home game) and all was well until the streaming started pinwheeling endlessly. Spent the entire game backing out and restarting to solve the problem. Really, REALLY hope they get this fixed!

Very choppy low frame rate. No AppleTV App

Buffering stops the broadcast in the middle of a play over and over. Hockey Huddle format needs change so game fills screen. I don’t care about the discussion I usually have sound turned off anyway. Hockey is hard to follow when the screen is too small; it’s not like the NFL. Also consider the good thing about streaming is taking the game with you and watching on mobile or tablet.

I just want to watch my team play some hockey. This half screen with commentary from personalities unrelated to the game in play is a joke. I’ll probably wind up subscribing to three paid services again to watch hockey when away on travel or I can’t make a home game.

This is absolutely terrible, aspect ratio is horrible, can barley see the game, you can barely hear the game. Needs fixed based off real reviews. Will be activating my previous subscriptions, would much rather pay to actually watch the game. Don’t care to see the commentators on this app plus.

Just emphasizing what everybody else has said- if you release a streaming app I expect it to be available on TVs and not something I have to do from my phone/iPad. There’s not enough communication telling fans where to watch games this season. I hope y’all fix these ASAP if you want this to be successful.

On the bright side - App is easy to download and the game is easy to use.

The big downside is that the “Huddle Team” just keeps talking in the studio and is actually on a SPLIT SCREEN while the game is actually in progress. The result? The players are so tiny, I can’t actually follow the game.

I feel like I’m being punished.

Now that we have some live content to watch, things are struggling. Multiple crashes while trying to use AirPlay to make up for the lack of an Apple TV app. If Victory isn’t crashing, it freezes or just gives you a black screen with no option for recovery other than force quitting Victory . Hoping these are just load issues that can be resolved by scaling infrastructure before the regular season starts. Otherwise Stars fans will be in for a nightmare as this app+ infrastructure crumbles.

Stars preseason game Saturday took up only about 40% of my screen in widescreen mode, displayed as a small 4:3 box in the middle. Wide black bars on all sides. Needs to be 16:9, not 4:3. Games should take up most of my iPhone’s screen, not 40% of the screen. Please fix, this app+.

It’s great we have this option to watch hockey but it really needs to have a Apple TV version too.

Been trying to watch the preseason game tonight, but Victory on iOS crashes every 7-8 mins, AirPlaying to my Apple TV 4K.

App completely closes out, has to reopen fresh, then restart the stream repeatedly.

Really hoping it gets fixed, as I’ve been very excited about this service since it was announced.

Great idea !! I’ve noticed in all the comments that there has never been a “Developer Response” to the “Hockey Huddle” question or complaint !! Why is that ? Sorry Stars fans, they probably won’t respond to this post either.

I was very excited about Victory as a hockey fan. Victory is very easy to download and setup. However, it would be great to offer an option to just watch the game with regular commentary. The broadcast with a podcast on the side is very distracting and takes away from the game. I know ESPN does this style with some games, but they give options to watch the traditional style broadcast as well.

I love Victory and I think you guys for the work you’ve done to provide for the fans, but I sure hope you will adding an Apple TV version. AirPlay makes it a little clunky when trying to watch the game we love. Thanks.

Just downloaded Victory today and I am not disappointed. Loved how easy it was to sign up, and get any info about certain games, players etc etc. BUT, I do not like how the game is not on full size so I can watch it and have the 3 hosts talking at the same time. Too much going on at once.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that the video doesn’t fill the screen on my phone when in landscape and doesn’t go to a mini viewer if I switch to another app. Overall way better than Bally’s.

What I’ve seen so far looks pretty good! But where is the native Apple TV version. I do not want to use AirPlay and tie up my iPhone?

I’m glad to see you came to your senses and created an Apple TV app! It’s not perfect, but I’m still pleased with it.

One major problem is the operating system compatibility. Last time I checked, Victory Store claimed it works with iPadOS 15+. Wrong! It doesn’t even work properly on iPadOS 16 with a second-generation large-screen iPad Pro. Those devices are only about six years old.

This is a common app developer problem, not testing on all devices that you claim are compatible. It works fine on iPadOS 17, but that model cannot run iPadOS 18, so be careful before you make more updates.

Also, please never allow scores to be shown unless the user specifically asks for them. The NHL made that mistake at first. Nobody wants to watch a game when you already know the outcome!

My main concern is still how you intend to pull in the entire potential audience. If you’re advertising, I’ve seen absolutely nothing. It would be comical if you’re advertising on Bally. Many hockey fans I know aren’t that into other sports. You need to look beyond that.

I would put a “this app+ For Idiots” guide on the Stars website. If a group of 70+ people can figure out how to obtain a device and install Victory , then you’ve succeeded. These people should have no other Internet experience outside perhaps a PC. If you’re really smart, you will find a way for them to purchase a compatible device at a discount.

First thank yall for the ability to stream for free. The occasional software issues I know will be fixed and honestly aren’t that bad. My one gripe is the hockey huddle, is there a way to present an option just to watch the game without it, even if it is just the game audio with no commentary? Even if doing so requires a small pip of commercials or advertisements, it would a welcome trade off.

Thank you Dallas Stars for making this app+ happen! Huge upgrade over Bally. It’s free (ad supported) and Victory works flawlessly in my experience. No auth issues like I had with Bally. Currently casting to AppleTV from iPhone which works great. Looking forward to the dedicated AppleTV app. Go Stars!

It’s really nice to be able to watch my hockey team without some greedy corporations trying to drain me of my money. Even more so Victory actually works (looks at Bally). Excited for the release on my tv as well! Great job!

The this app+ app is such a gift for fans! I’ve been a Dallas Stars fan for years, but I also haven’t had cable and regional blackouts prevented me from streaming Stars games. It’s so nice to have a streaming option that will give me a chance to watch full Stars games live — and for free!

I’ve watched a few preseason games live this week on this app+, and I haven’t had any technical issues. Victory and streaming experience have been less glitchy than the experience of watching out-of-market games on ESPN+. Overall, I’m super happy with this app+ and am looking forward to using it this season.

this app+ knocked it out of the park with their debut for Dallas Stars games (and other teams). Great quality stream, helpful stats on screen, super easy app.

Just a few things (imo) would make it perfect:

1. AppleTV app. Airplaying from my device was seamless but it would be even easier with a native ATV app.

2. Bring down the score box size just a smidge.

3. Pause and Rewind controls. Or at least just Pause would be huge.

I’m unsure if all games will be able to be rewatched at a later date throughout the season but that would be phenomenal for games I can’t watch live.

Really great debut with this. It was a thoroughly enjoyable viewing experience and you can tell your team has put a lot of love into the buildout.
