I have burned through many a puzzle game, best fiends, candy crush and all of its spinoffs, and I can quite honestly say this is the worst puzzle game I’ve ever had the displeasure of playing. Firstly the game is Pay to win out the wazoo, if you aren’t throwing cash at this game you aren’t going to make it very far because it seems the game is coded to drop blocks in a specific way that makes it nearly impossible to complete levels, it could be down to you needing ONE match and you have every color on the board and you get the only color combination that doesn’t allow you to win. Alongside of this point, as mentioned in other reviews the power ups are so incredibly difficult to earn without spending money. Secondly the amount of “lives” you have is a joke with most of the levels taking countless attempts to succeed at them. You could EASILY waste your 5 lives on a single level and have to wait a couple hours only to burn through the other 5 lives, but you guessed it, you can throw money at the game to get more lives. This game is a shameless cash grab, much like a claw machine it is only set to pay out or allow the player to be successful after x amount of attempts and it’s quite embarrassing. I would 100% rate this a 0 star game if I could because as an avid gamer who plays on desktop and mobile alike, this game is absolutely atrocious and deserves nothing more then to be led directly onto the guillotine.

Why must I wait to accrue enough lives to play this game? How does limiting my play benefit you? Explain that to me. It certainly doesn’t benefit your users. Your coins to play on, are too expensive. So many games end with one point needed to win, so you’re forced to either wait to play, or spend 900, then 1900 coins to clear that level. These writers couldn’t care less about their users. I’m deleting this game even though I purchased a no ad version way too soon. Oh, and worst ads ever. Drowning royalty, homeless mothers with starving children in a freezing squat. Seriously people?

Started off well and was interesting, and then at level 10 I got my first ad. Okay fine. That’s not so bad I figured. And then after every level. BAM! Another ad.
On the plus side they weren’t the almost 90 second ads some other games are pushing but c’mon I’ll sit through an ad every couple of levels/minutes (ads in other games are how I found this one after all) but one per level is annoying enough where I am deleting after level 15.

Levels are either too easy or too hard. In the ones labeled hard, you’re expected to just use a power-up, but those cost more than you can afford once you run out. Also, in those hard levels, I’ve found that there literally are not enough jelly blocks on screen to complete the level. I just deleted the game because of a level where I ended up with 1 move, 8 more blocks to win, and with my one move would have made a combined 5 blocks on screen. I wish I could attach the screenshot. Additionally, my magic wand power-up is broken and will not let me use it because the screen goes dark until you put it away. It’s a fun concept with horrible execution.

I’m here to complain about the ad that brought me to this game, not the game itself.
Some people may not mind Ad duration. Maybe you put your phone down while the ad runs or maybe you like to interact with the game portion of the Ads that allow that… but an Ad for a whole minute and 15 seconds (not including the time it takes to close out the pop up screens) is NUTS. That’s too long. We understand the gist of the game a good 10 seconds in, there’s no need to watch the entire gameplay to know if we wanna download it. I’m already wasting real actual time playing the game I’m already playing (willfully so). I’m giving you a whole minute of nothing…
Wild and I don’t like it.
*I don’t have anything negative to say about the game itself, it seems nonsensical and entertaining and I’m sure it’s fine.

I enjoy it except some levels seem unbeatable without having to purchase powerups - such as level 28 - I tried for days but I didn’t get enough moves to get all blocks until I bought stuff and then each time I bought more moves it cost more and more - that shouldn’t be a thing - it should cost the same no matter what. I want my money back to be honest because I shouldn’t have to spend $20 to get to the next level

I keep running into scenarios where I need to clear x amount of colored blocks to win, but it’s not possible. The level I’m playing right now, I have one move left, all blocks on the board are cleared so nothing left. I need to clear three colored blocks to win but that’s impossible if everything is cleared and I only have one block. This game is just a rigged ad and money farm. Leave it to greedy companies to take something fun and make it obnoxious on purpose.

I have so many complaints about this game idk where to start. My MAIN COMPLAINT is that the programming is poor and the game doesn’t function properly. On certain levels you are required to break a certain number of bottles by matching color squares next to them but the game doesn’t register that the match has been made next to the bottles and bottles aren’t breaking so one keeps losing despite having made enough matches beside the bottles to have broken them all. SO ANNOYING!!!
This game is RIDDLED WITH GLITCHES: I had a life and won the last level but then when my infinite lives ran out it said I had zero lives and I couldn’t play. If you want to play for the bonus boosters in the jelly carnival you have to close out of where you are playing and repeatedly start playing through the jelly carnival button or else it doesn’t register that you won or how many you have won in a row and you won’t get the boosters. This is despite the main game starting page showing the jelly carnival and that you are in the event. Also the direction with which the squares expand when one color is matched but not all isn’t consistent, so makes it difficult to strategize moves-it should always be consistent.
I am sure there is more but I cannot think of it rn. Too annoyed.

Great concept for the game but considering winning a round is largely dependent on the blocks being dropped, it’s not uncommon to use up the five lives and then you’re waiting another 20-30 minutes for a life. Your skill plays no part in what blocks are dropped and it takes so long for a life to regenerate. If you’re ok playing 5-10 minutes and then waiting a couple hours to play, this is your game. If not, find another game and don’t download this one.
by Jpl5336
The core game/levels don’t use internet but you need an internet connection in order to open DropJelly . I downloaded this so I could pass time on a flight and realize do couldn’t even open it once we got off the ground.
I’ve also found that you can’t play levels again once you’ve beaten them. You can ONLY play the level you’re currently on and there’s no way to go back and replay any levels you might have enjoyed.
Pay2win isn’t 100% needed but dang is it close!
by Arelle Ceebee
Play a new game. It’s fun for a while, until the levels are deliberately set up to be impossible to clear without spending actual money on power ups. They are, of course, already making money on ads, but no, they’re determined to soak you any way they can. Empty your pockets, or you don’t clear the level. They’ll make sure of that. And no, you can’t go back and play previous levels so you can still enjoy it.
Once a game becomes more frustrating than fun for me, I delete it. Games are supposed to be fun.
by Shotitalready
The makers of DropJelly just want you to spend money on upgrades. Like all money hungry greedy app developers this game is set up to get you hooked on the play mechanics. It’s a fun game… until you reach level 30. Then it starts. You can beat the level if you play it multiple times. At which point you are out of turns and have to wait. Or you can buy upgrades that help you win. This uses coins in game. Thousands of coins. You earn a few as you play. But not enough. Real money must be spent if you don’t want to play the same level over and over again until you either get lucky or get enough coins. I deleted it. This is not gaming.
by Bree2bree
I absolutely love the IDEA of this game! BUT I am deleting it. It costs 1900 coins to continue if you fall short even one jelly. If you watch the ad after you win, you get 300, otherwise it’s 100 coins for winning. Want to refill your boosters? That will cost AT LEAST 3900 coins. And the coin packs aren’t cheap either. You spend at least $10 to be able to continue for roughly 5 more games if you need the help.
I don’t mind spending a little on games, but when you play the same level for 3 heart cycles (15 lives total) and there aren’t even blocks coming up that can combine, then you have to spend a bunch of money?!? Not worth it.
by Greensugar4u
I typically only have one game on my phone at a time. I love a low stakes puzzle and this has the potential to be one of those great puzzle games.
HOWEVER,
I agree with other comments that it needs some work. I’ve been on one level for a week with no success. Earning the power ups is extremely difficult. The rate at which you earn coins makes it almost impossible to purchase them in game. Also, the cost for using actual money is absurd. It would cost about $5 to have enough for a power up which would only really help you one time. If you want to buy power ups to help it’s almost $12. That’s crazy and nit at all similar to other in app purchase options on other puzzle apps.

I decided to try Drop Jelly as I really enjoy playing puzzle type games. The game itself is colorful and I had no technical problems while playing the game. I gave it three stars for the smooth play and the interesting gameplay. Unfortunately I will be deleting the game as having to watch an ad between every level seems excessive. I get the ads allow you to play for free but honestly I think having to watch an ad between every game is not worth it.
by Jbjb93
Fun game. But there is no way to earn coins or the tools for help. So no matter what you would need to spend money. I’ll see how it goes but right now I’m disappointed as it is fun.
**update
Now you can earn daily coins plus watch videos. But the videos never change from earning 50 coins even though it has higher levels. No way to open those.
by Ddilgrl
I haven’t made it to the levels other have yet but if you’re going to make the game timed then you should be allowed to drop while they’re popping. More of my time on each round is wasted by waiting for the next drop to pop up and watching them pop than actually being able to play in turn making it hard to pass levels.
by Reesestrices
I enjoy the game, but the “Daily Rewards” no longer works correctly. It only lets me play the first video that rewards you 50 coins. I can’t collect any other rewards! And like others have said, it’s hard to collect and power ups. This is really annoying because no other game I play makes it that hard. I hope these issues are fixed soon! If they’re fixed, I will up my rating.
by Mary01010101
Great game, but the daily rewards don’t seem to work correctly. I can only watch the first two videos, the second video being worth 50 coins. The videos worth more coins aren’t able to be watched..is this not working on purpose to make the player think they’ll be able to get more coins in the future??
by Liorsmom
I agree with the other players that I have been stuck on level 345 for the past couple of days and it is not challenging anymore. There is no assistance or explanation on using extra power ups or whatever they’re called. I really enjoyed this game up until this level and I’m going to delete this game because it’s not as fun it is too hard.
by Gingerrose94
I really enjoy this game. It’s straightforward, drop at your own pace, and has a good flow throughout the levels of difficult to easier to difficult again. Other reviews mention impossible levels, and while I agree there are some very tricky ones, I can confirm I haven’t paid a penny and have still gotten to Level 400 for free, which is great. I also appreciate that the ad option for additional hearts never seems to run out of ads like I’ve seen in other games.
All that being said…..I’m getting bored.
Over the course of the last 400 levels I’ve only seen the purple blocks on two levels (once in the 100s and once in the 300s). Based on the edit profile page, I know there’s 12 colors total, so where the heck are they?? I understand spacing out the addition of new colors because it prevents it from getting too difficult and keeps people invested, but this is a bit excessive. There’s only so many levels I can play with the same 4 colors and the same repeating configurations before I get bored of the whole game…and I think I’ve hit my limit at level 400. 😕

Fun little game with unobtrusive ads. I liked it until the objective was too far out of reach. I tried the level several times and got to one move left with 14 points to go and 8 possible maximum points on the board. Please test your game better
by Rfg1978
I like this game- it’s challenging, the graphics are cute, and rules aren’t complicated. What I don’t appreciate is how it costs 1900 coins for 5 additional moves, especially when those 5 moves are not what you need and when 5000 coins costs $8.99. The cheapest coin purchase is $1.99 but only gives you 1000 coins, which buys you nothing.
Suggestion- if you want more people to play this game and continue playing it, maybe make it more reasonably priced?
by T2nazx2
I agree with what other people are saying and I’ve really given this game a chance. I’ve made it to level 123 and without purchasing power ups, this level doesn’t seem to be beatable.
It’s a very challenging game and I’ve enjoyed it despite the ads. But I’ve been on this level for several days and with the order the blocks fall and the difficulty in what you have to clear, I don’t see this as being able to be beat in a normal fashion.
I’m giving it four stars out of five because I have enjoyed the challenge. I’ve seen others saying they are getting stuck on lower levels. You do have to try some of them many times. But this is my limit. Several days on the same level just doesn’t make it challenging anymore, it makes it frustrating. And life is frustrating enough without deliberately looking for it.
by Bermuss22
This game is great and interesting and really fun to play, but I’ve thrown everything I have at level 45 and still can’t beat it, not because it’s difficult but because there’s simply not enough jelly’s in the level to pass even when I use power ups.
by Filthyhawtmess
So I truly love this game. However, it’s incredibly disappointing that when I started, you could watch ads for free coins and power ups, but now they have removed that option. You only have a “spin the wheel” for a random prize, which can only be spun once every 24 hours.
I’m almost to level 1000. I hate when developers get so money hungry that they remove all free to play options. I have spent money, including purchasing ad free. Do better.

I’ve been playing this game so much when I’m bored and it’s really good at curing my boredom. I’m on lvl 307 rn so yeah I’ve been at it for a while. My only complaint is that there’s a lot of luck involved and sometimes the game just won’t give you the right blocks for you to win so that’s what I mean about luck. But other than that (and the creepy new app icon) it’s a really fun game.
by Paul27273
I really like the game, but I don’t really like the level system because it just feels like I’m restarting each round (I know there are actually different requirements in each). You guys should look into making an ‘infinity’ tab that the player can go to to just keep placing blocks then if they fill the area they lose.
by Ddwojo
Some levels are pretty difficult but are able to be completed with out a power up. I very must disagree with most of the ratings on this game. I love that it forces me to focus and that really helps with my stress.
by Instrument Guru
I really enjoy the game and it’s really fun to play when I have nothing else to do. But I do think that there should be a mode where you can just keep on playing till you reach the top. Again, amazing game and I hope you take my advice into consideration
by Gr8H8er
The only free to play that rewards you for winning levels by making ads shorter. Want to get a block buster or a hint, watch the whole ad. Win a level and no ads. I’m getting to where this is the only game source worth the time.
