Story Star Life Simulator Game Reviews

It's clearly intentional that this dev wants you to pay to have a permanent energy upgrade because 20 times in a row. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have been hit with -2 energy from having to pay earned money in the game to evaluate my energy level. That is a crock. if you're paying rather than skipping the energy evaluation then you should have a better chance to improve your energy level especially if you're doing other things like being healthy and eating good food. Nothing in the game is directly seem connected to one another. which makes it an awful life Sam except for the dev of wanting IAP money to push the energy level.

The game is very fun and addictive overall, but the fact that agents seem impossible to get even after hours and hours of playing is weird. I’m basically locked out of the top publishers. Much like the movie star game, there seems to be no real progression. I max all my skills and publish very high quality books and yet I can’t get into the top 5 publishers and I can’t get any good sales, like enough to buy a home or nice vehicle. Very frustrating, especially because I paid for more energy to save myself time and it seems that was a waste.

There are also some UI bugs like not being able to change book prices. The developers here have a great formula but the progression on these games is very poor. If you are reading this, please improve progress and flesh out the “end game.” It would make these games infinitely more replayable.

I love this game and it is definitely one of my favorite from Chimpanzee. However I feel that the game shouldn’t be as difficult as it is. I have recently started a new game and I have several books that I published which have been well-received yet I can never get a publishing company to endorse my books. It’s gotten to the point where I’m considering restarting my career, but that would be a huge waste of time as I’ve been playing for a few hours straight. It’s honestly frustrating as I’ve been making good books consistently, yet I can’t even get the lowest quality publishing companies to endorse it. This make the game really hard to enjoy fully, but if this was changed up a bit then I would have no problem upping this review to a 5-star.

1) Suggestion: I wish I could choose my own image when doing a book instead of the default ones, also, it would be great if y’all made designing a book separate of something because you can bearly see the cover of the book & the fonts since is so small. 👉2) Bug: the vault doesn’t work. Example: I have 20,000 dollars in game, but when I try to add 18,000 dollars it says that I don’t have enough money. Also when you put x number a lot of times it shows another 👉3) Another bug: when you add the pricing for hardcover books it doesn’t show you in real time what you added and is very buggy 👉 4) My WPM is always negative and there’s no guide on how to fix it or anything and I don’t know if it’s a bug or not

I love this game, and have been able to progress far in it. But occasionally, there is a bug where, if I accept a book proposal, then close StoryStarLifeSimulatorGame , the proposal remains in the “Publisher” inbox tab. Unsure if it went through, I accept it again, and end up with two of the same book (albeit with different starting word counts). I finish the book and turn it in, and the stats in the “Publisher” tab changes to progress onwards, but the other version of the book remains, and I am unable to get rid of it. I am able to still mess with it, like renaming it and adding words, but as the publishing request has already been filled, I am unable to “publish” the book again.

I really like the game, it’s fun and has a lot to it. It’s obviously a lot better when you purchase the extra energy (I got the 500) but what the most frustrating thing about this game is never being able to get an agent or to get published. My stats are all maxed out except experience and I’ve got almost all the classes under my belt and I’ve written some good books and I’m still not able to get either an agent or a publisher. What would be really cool too is if you could start your own publishing company in the future too. The game is really fun though and I really enjoy all of chimpanzee’s stuff!

This game has been very fun! I’m really enjoying it but am struggling with the literary agents. I have had several literary agents, 2-3 with relationships with big 5 publishers but I still cannot pitch my novels to those publishers and my literary agent does not do anything. I cannot send the novels to my agent, nor will they just do something with it if I leave it for several weeks. So if the agents can, in fact, open up publishing opportunities with the big 5, I cannot figure out how to do that.

No ads-big plus! As an aspirational writer, this game appeals to me, and I hope it strikes a cord with others.

It’s a simple game, but interesting to explore and figure out. It seems like you can even save up money in one play through that can be accessed in the next!

One suggestion/recommendation: Might some kind of warning dialogue be added before a work is scrapped? I lost a couple works in progress because I touched a little too close to the trash icon. Fewer things pain a writer more than losing a draft for good! lol

Hey Jon, or whatever other Chimpanzee employee sees this, you have a great system but some work could be done to it. I would like ways to permanently increase my energy with a rebirth system because loosing one energy every year adds up. Also, if we could become agents ourselves and mentor authors without a publishing company would be cool. MAKE A SPORTS CAREER GAME TOO! Or a animation game. A superhero game? Another life simulator? Also I hope you guys can buff book sales, and maybe have an option to buff book sales without getting on the leaderboard so just a game for fun. Wait.. LANDLORD GAME!
Also, can we get more book covers based on genre? Like some of them have for the bestsellers are really cool and I would want to use them or just upload my own covers.

Hey I’m a big fan of your companies games and I want to say this is one of my favorite games so far from you guys! I love everything that is present so I only come with some ideas.

My biggest one would be let movie companies and tv companies approach you about getting rights to your novels by paying a price for the right. This would be really cool and add a lot to the game.

I also think this could open up maybe being approached for merchandise and such if your book is turned into a movie or film.

Another thing is that you should only be giving publishers the right of first refusal for sequels. Otherwise the rights should revert back to the author if they pass on a sequel.

Okay I have literally never left a review for a game before but this one is amazing! I cannot stop playing it!
The only thing I would change is the ability to move the text around when making the cover of your book
Other than that, it is the perfect game!!

I was surprised when I came across this addition and instantly fell in love but I have an issue with my game play, seems the agents on this particular game aren’t playing any significant role as in movie star or the music star version I can’t pitch to the big five publishers and hopefully it’ll be addressed in the next update thanks

This is on of my favorite games ever. I love playing and I also love a lot of the other games made by the developers. I think a really cool addition to the game would be to add a family dynasty where you can live on as you kids. Another really cool thing would be if you were able to make your books in to movies. Thanks for making this amazing game.

This Game Is Great! Just Some Things, First, I A Bit Annoyed About Having No Views On My YouView Platform. Second, I Want Ai Or Illustrator To Actually Make Something, Not Just Copy Our Work, So At The Bottom Of The Cover Section Is 2 Buttons, Your Cover, Which Is Your Book Cover As The Main Cover Or Ai Generated, Which Generates A Image By Analyzing The Title. Third, Plz Add Save Files. Last, Please Make It So That When You Start You Can Choose How You Look And Choose The Difficulties. Thx. XOXO

I just got this game a few days ago and I’ve already wasted my weekend on it. It’s hard to keep myself off of it to be honest. I do wish we could scrap finished works or choose which shirt story we use when it comes to contests though. I don’t want to publish a low quality shirt story when I have 6 high quality books published :/ but besides that I really have enjoyed it so far.

I've played all the games they have made and this one is by far my favorite!! This one is a little more in depth than the previous ones so that makes me excited for other content possibly to come to the other games. High RECOMMEND this game!!

With that said there are a few small issues that I'm sure I won't be the only one too touch on.
1. Your agent never submits/allows you to submit your book to the Big Five.
2. It seems impossible even with maxed out skills, high exp, and 100+ quality and design to get a best selling book.
3. There needs to be a way for you to be able to market your own self published books.

Those are really my only complaints! Thanks for another great game :)

I love this game. Can’t stop playing it. It’s amazing. I have some suggestions. Maybe we can have an option to write movie scripts. Additionally, it would be great if we have an option to open our own publishing company and be able to publish other novels that aren’t ours. Also, add awards. I know that in real world you can win literature awards. That might be something cool to look into. Another thing I thought of would be a quick addition to authors profile where it would have a section that list all books that became Bestsellers. There are other things you can also play with if you implement the having your own publishing company like be able to pitch to stores (Barnes and noble ex) to sell the books. Idk.

I tend to love these types of games (starting from nothing and working your way up) but this??? This is top tier. The mix of my fondness for this genre and also my love for books? It’s addicting. My only wish is that there were more features! More lifestyle option, more relationship building options, new daily optional tasks and better jobs!! The lack of these definitely isn’t stopping me from spending too much time on this game though.

As a person who actually enjoys writing irl StoryStarLifeSimulatorGame is great, i played all the other games and etc and i liked them. But this? i love it.

But it would be nice if we could react with the fans, like replying to them on the kindle app or liking their feedback and etc! and maybe see comments on the youview platform and interact with them as well and for the tweets maybe follow other writers and interact with them as well! just to make it more realistic lol. But other than that StoryStarLifeSimulatorGame is one of my favorites i’ve came across in years!

I’m 12 years in… I sell over 1k books a day, all stats maxed, scored really high in the short story contest multiple times, sold over 133k books, and STILL can’t get an agent idk what to do anymore I’m losing my mind 😭. But becides that the game great I like this one best honestly keep it up.
