Kinda Disappointed

When i had my account and been playing stories i created yet some were already made or lets say like Steven Universe from that cartoon tv show? well now. the freaking NPCs or whatever you wanna call it repeats itself. they do not respond back automatically im tired of putting I wait for their responses yet sometime even that doesnt work because it just gives me the text but not what the heck they are saying for me to hear it and read it for the dang story. not only that but i cant even do as i please with it on the stories like it doesnt feel immersive anymore it doesnt help me feel like as if my character is a part of whatever story i made the update after hollowween has been absolute garbage for me completely i even lost my progress and had to restart all over again. again! when i was past level 10 and had 2 million number points or whatever the heck it is now i only have 6,000 and im getting sick of this repeat and how the npcs are responding im tired of the repeats the AI doesnt even make the story like as if it is alive for the fantasy im disappointed badly.

Short responses and Stalling

Honestly not sure what the hype is about. Downloaded it ready to spend a good chunk of my day playing (based on the good reviews) and I couldn’t find myself immersed at all. The responses you get in return are usually 2-3 sentences long and that’s for one token, with a starting point of 20 tokens. There’s no refresh button in case you didn’t like a generation or it’s just dull, which I gotten on the one adventure I started. Emphasis on started because it dropped me off outside a forest, I suggested to walk into it while following a map, and it just regurgitated that I walked while looking at my map. I know most AI suffer from the problem of responding rather than being proactive but I was expecting a little more given the reviews. Then again, maybe I didn’t poke around enough before deleting and this was just a one off situation. My other point still stands though (2-3 sentence responses that does little to help with world building). Not giving it a one star because it does seem to have potential, and I like the concept if not the execution.

Cool but flawed

This is a cool idea but it doesn’t really work with the current setup. It’s an awesome idea to create our own characters and experience original stories but as it sits currently there’s no rhyme or reason to encounters or the way the AI determines what happens. I was in a cyberpunk world and an enemy randomly attacked dealing me damage with no real indication that they were there or any option to avoid the encounter despite being stealthy. Everweave uses dice rolls which gives you an idea of when something bad could happen while this just sorta seems to do what it wants. I like that we earn tokens by playing and doing things but the lack of any transparency on how or why attacks or encounters happen or even how to engage with them is really annoying. The AI also sorts seems to make up rules as it goes. In the same encounter one of my shots dealt no damage to the drones shield then all the others dealt damage. Not to mention at least in the cyberpunk game the amount of jargon the AI used made it really hard to understand what exactly I was supposed to be doing.

It would be fun if it wasn't so restrictive

Small team, understandable. AI isn't cheap, totally fair. But the textbox limits (for build your own quest), as well as the visual style and adventure cards being locked behind a subscription paywall? While the former two is a bit of a letdown, the latter is an absolute inconvenience. That is literally the only way to help the AI direct the story to the right direction for critical plot moments, or when there's important information that needs to be referenced.

It's also a little tedious to get your free 5 tokens every 4 hours since they're hidden inside the sidebar and not at the front of the main menu. Not to mention, it almost feels like a side job keeping track of how long until I can get my next free tokens. 20 tokens every 24 hours would've been more manageable, with maybe soft caps as you stockpile up if that can help control operating costs.

Overall, interesting gamified elements and, at the time of writing this, have come to no issues so far. This has potential, but time will only tell.

It’s Ok so Far

Hey, for this kind of gaming adventure, I’m not exactly disliking it. I have a few criticisms however. 1.) when creating my character, the AI was not really understanding my simple prompts, like, ‘change skin color to blue.’ 2.) There is not enough tokens by a long shot. I love the idea of tokens refreshing every 4 hours but it’s not enough. I mean, yes you gotta make money somehow but you realize you’re only getting people on your app for, like, 10 minutes MAX before they have to get off and find something else to do. I can’t see this really enticing people to purchase more or be that invested. You need to at least double the maximum number of starting tokens. Or better yet, give us a way to EARN tokens on our down time so we can get back to the adventure. (Watch ads, solve puzzles, etc.). Additionally, maybe there could be different tokens for different adventure! That way while we are waiting for one adventure, we can still play another. 3.) The narrator voice reading our stories to us is actually REALLY good, but it delays reading for so long that by the time it begins I have already read halfway through the script. Now I have to turn it off to play the game. It would be nice if you could make it so that the voice reads aloud as the text appears. So that’s it. If you fix those few simple things, I think you’ll have a 5 star game on your hands.

Brandon Bickerton

Absolutely great language model and very good at recognizing damage, healing, and items. Kinda makes it feel like a real video game. BUT, it has some slight issues where the ai can get in loops of failure or success. Especially in combat, if you miss an attack on something, the model can get into a loop where it basically convinces itself that the enemy is untouchable, no matter how creative you get with your responses, or vice versa where your character just succeeds at everything. I also noticed that no matter what mode you choose, your journey is ALWAYS a bunker, or dungeon, or manor. Whatever type of multi-storied chamber with multiple rooms they can jam in. I feel like this is done because it’s the easiest way to give your character a straightforward goal: get through the dungeon/manor/whatever it is. But in my opinion, it kinda makes it feel like character backstory doesn’t super matter, and alternative gameplay as anything but a dungeon-crawler is impossible, which limits the other characters you can meet as well, as it’s either enemies, or people ALSO trying to complete the same thing that you’re doing, which just limits the amount of interesting interactions in the game. I’d like some npcs with alternate goals and stories of their own, and also for the goal to be more varied.

High potential

Great app, but there’s a few things AIGameMaster can do better. Firstly is the price, it isn’t the priciest app on AIGameMaster Store for sure but to keep long campaigns active, you have to spend money for more tokens. I understand that it’s hard for devs to maintain apps while also profiting without micro transactions but they’re never a fun experience as the consumer. The second issue I take with AIGameMaster is that the A.I is very A.I-y. While AIGameMaster is better, it tells a story very similarly to playing with other chatbots like GPT. That being that you have to kinda nudge the AI into progressing the story. Instead of giving options for you to explore or interact with it reads similar to “this is what just happened, what is going to happen next?”. What I’m getting at is that you can really form the story however you want rather than the dungeon master, the ai, taking control and offering setbacks and saying “no” to some of the things you want to do. Otherwise I really enjoy AIGameMaster, the ai generated images are an incredible addition and the UI is very easy to engage with. Other than those two issues AIGameMaster is perfect!

Very good app but not perfect

Of the many AI applications that I have used for roles and / or playing DnD this was one of the best so far I have only played a few runs due to the limit of 20 daily and that they are 4 hours of waiting to have 5 more, it is the only thing that I find a little frustrating since certain stories can take more than 20 or 30 turns although I saw that leveling up the account you get 10 I do not know if it will be procedurally, meaning that you get more as you advance and another thing I found is that the AI tends to get lost a lot when you add many details, for example, how the combat is or the environment, although it is not serious, do I recommend the application? Yes, it is very good especially if you want to have a good time without stressing too much, it makes you think but it does not become frustrating due to certain events so yes, this application delivers what it promises and well the only fault was those of the details and the few turns per day

Honest Opinions Only (Cloud Save doesn’t Save)

This has happened twice while I have a subscription?!
I don’t get it I was F’in enjoying it then boom suddenly I can’t open my champion conversations anymore, I tried everything and still no luck so I just made sure to back up every save twice in a row each and even update the cloud from the main menu just to delete, redownload and restore my “cloud data & saves”
I did it it twice. My champion conversations stopped working twice after awhile of gameplay again and there looked to be no clear way to simply put in a ticket request that lets you state a problem or support on cloud data.
Come on guys it’s like I wanna request a refund but I still wanna enjoy this, I wanna remake my characters and their personalities again but now I have to try an remember every small detail knowing the AI will generate a completely different world and main story. Man wth…

Great game

I have put a lot of hours into this and I love it even bought a membership. A few small issues I have with it that only add up the longer you play.
1.) the inventory system doesn’t really work if I type throw away or give away and item it stays in my inventory until I manually go and discard it
2.) The ai reuses the same enemy with different names a lot. In a world of fantasy I have killed 3 Minotaurs like 8 dragons and a million wraiths. It’s weird because I know there are cool enemies in the game I randomly get awesome things like owl bears or giant scorpions or things but it defaults to wraiths a lot.
3.) finally I know yall are aware of it but there is also the encounter system where no matter what your gonna get hit. Even if you say “shoot the shadowy figure” it won’t take damage and instead you still get hit. It’s a little frustrating but the fights are easy enough (especially after getting companions) that it doesn’t matter it’s just always annoying when you start the fight with 20 health gone.
Now the positives
There are endless possibilities with this game and I love every decision and every story I’ve played so far. The ai weapons are cool and feel unique to me the leveling up I’m almost positive is useless but is still in my opinion satisfying. I like make number higher. A good foundation with small tweaks that can make this something I will never put down

Decent. Could be better

The AI seems to go along with whatever you want instead of giving you challenges along the way. There are no dice rolls which feels inauthentic.
I have only gotten far enough to use my 20 free tokens you start with but so far it feels like I can bend the world into whatever I want to happen and there’s little to no push back. While this can be good for some people, I’m looking for a bit of a challenge and a puzzle to figure out and this AI system doesn’t seem to provide that.
Also I ran into a bug where my characters backstory wasn’t what I wanted and I changed it in character creation, but the ai still held onto the original and it became some weird mix of the two. I even changed the background in my character sheet but the ai still held onto and remembered the one I didn’t want it to.

Overall good concept for storytelling, but not great for gameplay/challenge

Seems to be a high quality AI D&D campaign

This game seems to be perfect for those who want to play more dnd than is possible due to scheduling or some other conflict. It seemingly provides a wonderful and adequately deep story with a good initial hook to peak your interest. I’ve only done about 15 messages back and forth with the ai DM, and have already gotten the entire setup for the story I’m going to be engaging with, had a detailed character built, and encountered my first combat scenario. The combat in this game feels SO good. Instead of rolling dice and choosing from a list of specific actions like dnd, you merely tell the ai what your character wants to do and it does all of the tedious stuff in the background, keeping everything very frictionless. My only real complaint is that I can’t seem to find the “actions menu” in order to promote one of my characters so that I can talk to them outside of the campaign, but I’m sure I’ll find it eventually.

Thanks for a great game, folks!

On the Fence

So glad I stayed around. At first I had this game rated One Star, but now it is at Five Stars. I love the music and how you can take to your tunes. The AI story telling is also very kind about letting you emote what you want, though it does take skill to understand.

This game has lots of intricacies that make it hard, but I find the following works well for me:

When in combat, explicitly state whether you are attacking or healing and list explicitly what item you are doing so with. The game hates when you emote things you don’t have equipment for.

Unless your character starts as a healer, you will want to rush getting a healing item as soon as possible. Asking an NPC for one worked for me.

You can have whatever stats you want. You will want your character to have 5 Force. The other stats are mostly flavor, but you want them high.

If you are injured badly at the end of a fight, you can switch off encounters until you get healed back up. Combat is unavoidable and in skippable otherwise and can easily result in your character dying.

If you want to do well in combat, make such to emote using inventory items. So far, the starting item you get seems to be the only one that does high damage in combat, but I would assume using side items will work better if those items are weapons.

Always heal after combat or maybe even in combat. Keep your HP topped off.

Fantastic game

I only started on this game just a few days ago, but this game is truly phenomenal. I love the world building, and the AI is very easy to work with, and is just as talented at creating vivid worlds as any human DM. The voices too are very good. Not always the best, but they are impressively good at portraying emotions or even the pacing of a sentence.

My only note: when you are in the one-on-one mode, where you can (quite literally) talk to your own character you created, the character only talks to you, but it doesn’t write down what it’s saying, so my “conversations” are all my text with no real implied answers. Since I had grown used to the text-to-text response style of the campaign missions, this came as a real curveball and a bit of a disappointment. I don’t know if you Devs were planning on fixing this, but I personally would really appreciate it.

Believe it or not, I want to remember the conventions I have (yes, with an AI) in order to help build the backstory and history of my character, so that I can use it for whenever I do a D&D campaign in real life, or use it for other group activities. I’m also a writer, so it would also help a lot in ideas for character development.

Overall though, that’s my only complaint, but still not enough to alter my five start rating! So Devs, if you see this, consider my note 🙏🏻 but keep on keeping on! You’ve created a fantastic game, and I hope any further development runs smoothly for you!

Honestly a really fun game

I made a pun and the character I was interacting with responded with a laugh at my joke 10/10, I honestly didn’t think it was even gonna register what I was trying to do and give me some generic response back but it didn’t and it made me feel like I was in this little world with actual characters. I’ve been playing for just a few hours and have honestly been having a bit of a blast exploring and interacting with the characters and the world, the encounters are a bit interesting at times and when I was at an inn resting after a short adventure it gave me an encounter, I’ve learned to just turn them off at times I feel wouldn’t make the most sense so there’s a bit of a work around that but for the most part it’s been exciting playing the fantasy portion of the game I haven’t tried the others yet but if there like the one I’m on then I can see this game becoming a quick favorite to kill time. I’ve noticed people saying the “pay wall” is off putting but 1$ for 25 turns and then 5$ for 150 isn’t that bad tbf if your not doing a lot of short responses or interactions then you can stretch the turns a good amount

Absolutely wonderful game! But one thing…

This game is so fun, and every time, I just can’t wait until I can have a moment to sit down and enjoy this game. It’s really fun and reactive and allows me to do whatever I want, but there are two note that I have. Sometimes it glitches during the battles, and it won’t let me choose what to do next, and I have to close AIGameMaster and open it again to get it working again.
Note two is not really an issue or something that can be fixed, but every action takes tokens, and you have to wait four hours for only five coins to load. I get it, the AI needs to be payed for or something, I just wish I didn’t have to wait four hours to play again, especially when the story starts to get good. I wish it would at least automatically collect tokens every four hours. Anyway, this game is amazing, it’s wonderful and allows me to get out my creativity between my real campaigns. I would highly recommend this game especially if you’re someone with patience to wait for the tokens to save up instead of just immediately spending them.

Very good start

This game is pretty exceptional what sets it apart to me is the actual rpg mechanics like having hp and enemies when you fight you actually have to worry about losing hp and dying and the ai images that pop up, along with being able to have companions. This was a well thought out game. I do wish however that there would be descriptions added to the abilities that come with the items whenever I click the use item button It doesn’t really feel like I’m always using the items actual abilities just whatever the AI can think of in the moment. Also the amount of times you can use items should be limited for sure because I can just keep using the same item over and over again for an unlimited amount of time pretty much. Everything so far is honestly good to me just the item system could definitely use an overhaul.

Best AI Dungeon Game I’ve Played

I’ve tried a few AI dungeon games here and there trying to find something fun and interesting but they always have one of two problems, one they either required a paid subscription to play the game in general or two the AI was so bad it would always mix the story around or mess up my characters by mixing its traits with the npc the AI made but this game has just been 100x better than them I love how well it integrates my character and its traits into the story and I love how this game never detours away from it’s original plot I could have like 30 turns doing something completely different from my main objective and the AI still keeps my main objective in plot and will integrate what my character has done and learned to plot making the story more fun and a way better gaming experience if I could I’d give this game 10 stars instead of 5

Color me Impressed

I’ve played a number of other Ai dungeon type games and this is by far the most well made and robust one I’ve tried so far.

As it is, I’ve only used about 15 tokens worth of play but I’m actually excited to get more and may likely buy some more access soon. Like all AI generative text models,This one requires a little help and creativity to keep it going- but it’s much smarter about it than I’ve seen from other programs.

While it does run off of other AI software you may be familiar with, the shell programming of AIGameMaster works to make the experience seamless and transformative. Often the ai generative games we’ve seen do nothing but repackage the same ai models we know with a barely functional clunky app. I’m impressed with the level of polish here, and would suggest anyone tired of those other games give this one a shot.

It’s actually pretty good I have a couple things I don’t like though

Anytime you enter combat you are automatically attacked as they appear with no choice to try to evade or get a preemptive strike you enter combat and immediately lose health. idk if this is just my own unlucky experience but any item that you get never works on enemies they always dodge that. I do like it but not unlocking companions till lvl 5 is unfortunate in one of my games I was tasked to retrieve something with a team but I wasn’t lvl 5 so they didn’t do anything in combat but outside of combat one of them was useful cuz he could heal me to max hp. But all in all games good I wish they would lower the time for free tokens cuz the subscription is too pricey for me but eh it’s still fun even tho I can only play a little of my campaign at a time
