Word Bank is Frustrating

There are many extremely common words that it will say “not in word bank,” making it very frustrating to play. “Day” was the most frequent one, but there have been many others.

Needs a little more.

Love the game but there is no way to go onto the next game if you are stuck on the current one. If you can’t figure out one game there is no way to find a solution or to skip onto the next game. So I am stuck forever on the same letter combinations that I can’t find a solution for.

Dictionary Fail

Chieftain isn’t a word?? So many words are not in the game’s dictionary, meaning there are fewer ways to minimize the number of turns to finish. I’ve looked up at least ten words in the short time I’ve been playing and all were valid, but this app rejected them.

Needs reworking

After playing NYtimes Letterboxed for a bit, I wanted to try practicing and getting better at solving with less required words. Discovering LetterBox, I came in with the expectation of a similar experience but with infinite games. Maybe I’m a stickler, but this was not the same experience. The UI and how the game played out, I had no complaints, but the one key issue was the inability to solve the majority of the randomly generated puzzles in 2 words, which disincentivized why I came in the first place. For those in a similar predicament, I do not recommend the game in its current state as you’ll be scratching your head for a couple of minutes only to check a website to see that it wasn’t possible in the first place. For those who just want to simply play the game and could care less about this caveat, this game will suffice those needs, and I do recommend. If this game was not consistent with NYtimes, it would be a little disappointing, but nothing too game breaking.

Good game but...

Good game to keep my brain active! Works great on my phone, but does NOT fit on my ipad. The letters just don't fit on the screen. I tried adjusting text size in Settings, reloading and nothing. I'd give it 5 stars easily if I could play it on my ipad!

Not bad, but needs work.

The game accepts uncommon words (non-English) and proper nouns. Also has a few bugs such as not immediately recognizing a selected letter.

Random punctuation makes puzzles unsolvable?

Really enjoying this game until I got a puzzle with a random “/“ instead of a letter. It doesn’t seem to accept this character in any of my guesses, I can’t find an explanation/solution anywhere online, and there is no way to request help or additional info through LetterBox or the developer’s website. Leaving this review in the hopes that someone might be able to help me! Game has been great otherwise.

Great game

Great game—makes you think. Wish there was a way to choose levels (easy to difficult).

Fun but Needs Some Work

I loved the NYT version, but found it frustrating so I wanted to find an app I could play an unlimited amount of times for the practice. This one is perfect and I love how relaxing yet challenging it is. The only recommendation I have, is I just wish there was a way to see the solution to each puzzle. Each puzzle is supposed to be solvable in 2 words, so when if I finish a level in more than two words, I would like to see the solution… I just want the satisfaction of at least knowing what I got wrong/missed!

Just Like Letter Boxed by NYT

This game is exactly like the New York Times Letter Boxed app. When you click on result, it will even tell you that all puzzles are solvable with two words. I read an article that near times letter boxed app is solvable in two words as well.

Challenging and fun word puzzle

After having solved the puzzle, it would be nice to have the option to view other possible answers.

Enjoying letterbox

I am happy to find LetterBox this app as I have played it for several months on the news paper site. It makes think.

Dark mode?

I love this game so much! I’ve been playing it when trying to fall asleep. Is it possible for a dark mode feature?

Great challenging word game!

I really like word puzzle games, and this one is no exception. I like the challenge of trying bigger more complex words. Only have 2 suggestions:

1. THE ANSWERS! What the heck is the answer!? I can only get it to 3 words.
2. Give some sort of point system, just to give some small reward. I like to see how many puzzles I do and have some small sense of achievement.

A challenging game

I was looking for a similar game to the NYT this app and this one didn’t disappoint. In fact, it’s even more challenging than the NYT version. This one really makes you have to try hard to get the words in the right amount of tries. Good job developer.

a calm way to challenge yourself

This is such a pleasant word game. It allows you to use what you know. It is challenging without being stressful, because you can keep trying different solutions. If you want to increase the challenge you can add your own goals, like using fewer words, or not repeating any letter more than once.

A good time

Fun game. Works your brain a bit and is enjoyable as well

Letter boxed

I enjoy this because it gives me practice in solving the puzzles.

Fun & Surprisingly Challenging!

If you’re looking for a light challenge for your cognisphere.

Great Thinking Game

Love the game and the challenge of building words. I found a reference to it on Reddit and it is my go to relaxation game.
