I really enjoyed this app when it was called status and the icon was discreet but the update is really a let down. i didnt enjoy the random picture of some man as the app icon and wasnt thrilled with the addition of stories but didnt pay it much mind bc i only intended to use the character texting side of the app. now that youve gotten rid of it i have no interest in the app. im not a fan of the fanfiction feature itself or the functionality of it. what made status fun was talking/creating characters and now that that's gone i see no point in keeping the app because there are already so many story/fanfiction driven apps. this one was fresh and new! I hope you guys read the dozen of other pleas to change the new features and or bring back the chatting feature or else you may continue to lose users. there are so many people complaining here, we do not like the update! 🥲

I really enjoyed the app when it had the chats where you could text and get texts from an AI character you created. It gave it a sense of “reality” from the way the character would text you like a real person, which is what many other people using the app, enjoyed. But with the new update and now having the public storytelling chats, it does not feel the same. I preferred the back and forth texts even though even that had its own flaws but it felt more “realistic” in the sense that you were “texting” a character, but now with the new update, it just seems like I’m making a story rather then just talking to a character about simple like “ texts” should be. I’m not much of a storyteller and writer so I’m not really enjoying the new updates on plots. I preferred status, just texting my a.i “friend/ characters”. I hope they bring back the chats.

EDIT: leaving reviews aren’t abuse. This developer is claiming we’re abusing them by leaving en mass bad reviews because of changes they supposedly had no control over. If they openly talked about how they had no control over their own app and how we could fix it that would be good instead of saying we “need to change our rating cause we gave you something for free.” To the developers I understand changing your app may not have been your fault but claiming we are “abusing” you when a lot of people are just expressing the downgrade in quality of your app. I think it’s still a new app so keep playing with it. But I’ll give the 5 stars back since they want to fix it. I am all for new changes and expanding. But I signed up for chatting with characters and over the past couple months this app helped me with mentally and getting rid of the option to “chat” with rough stories with a new format seems like a let down. I understand things happen but I really enjoyed this app while it was meaningful.
