It records the sound but won’t give the information until you buy the subscription. Good luck getting the recording again. Very tricky.

Do not fall for the Bird Sounds Identifier! I did free trial based on lofty description and selected the 12-month subscription at 29.99 in conjunction with free trial. Read the fine print: once charged, it cannot be refunded. Now I’m stuck with an app I’ll never use again. There’s a much better app available …

I paid the expensive one week price to test and it didn’t even identify the birds correctly. I found another app named after a famous wizard and it blew my mind. And so far it’s been free.

Tried dozens of times to use BirdSoundsIdentifierCallID and never once received a correct identification. The “100%” identification result was always 100% incorrect. Such a bummer. The idea of this tool is great. The execution, not so much.

We have a Red Tailed Hawk that lives right out near our condo here in North Carolina. We know what a hawk sounds like. I used BirdSoundsIdentifierCallID multiple times to see if it could identify the hawks call- and nope would only pick up the other birds making noise in the area. A Hawks call is VERY LOUD AND DISTINCT yet BirdSoundsIdentifierCallID wouldn’t identify it.
