Good effort, need more work

The effort to make this game is good. The story is intriguing and even when it was pay to play, playing for $1.99 was a good deal. However, a lot of work is needed to improve the interface. Many times I had to take the hint despite clicking on right locations because the game just did not register the clicks. The sand test tube puzzle needs to be checked. Even when I solved it, it did not finish. I had to use an easier version of the puzzle to actually finish. Some programming issue. There is a typo in General Zang chapter. It would be even better if there was another chapter and a couple of puzzles to escape the palace at the end, especially in the secret passage. Also, when some object interaction is finished, it would be better if that object does not get interacted with anymore. That will save a lot of confusion. I liked the easy version mode in case someone needs to skip a puzzle. Overall good game.

AI “art”

This game is filled with low-effort, AI-generated assets. On top of this, the flat writing fails to provide any sort of narrative engagement and, had it not been for a handful of misspellings, I would believe the captions and exposition to be generated by AI as well. As for gameplay, the puzzles are extremely simplistic and the game holds to load for at least a second every time you interact with an object. You can find much higher quality and more honest point-and-click puzzle games on mobile. If you want such games with intriguing narratives, curious puzzles, and genuine, human-created artwork, you should check out the Rusty Lake series. Some of those games are even free!

I like it

I liked this game but when I got to Sir Francis house I got stuck and I didn’t want to buy anything either. I don’t like how good games want to you to pay for the rest of the game. I don’t like paying money for games, but other than that I loved the game. I love graphic novels and puzzles.

Good graphics but inconsistent puzzles

This game is frequently more frustrating than fun. I like the variety of puzzles and even the level of challenge on many of them. However, some of the puzzles are non-intuitive and misleading and the hints offer no practical help at all. It's really disappointing when you've paid for a game and the developer has not built in an adequate hint system and the game does not naturally funnel you toward the solution.

Great, short, fun.

Great little game. Short but sweet. Basically a collection of simple puzzles pulled together by a short story and some nice graphic shots. Nothing to complain about, but would have loved some more content. At the price, very happy to have spent a few short train rides puzzling with you!

Tons of potential, needs a couple tweaks

A lot of fun so far, but I have a couple of notes. First, the game won’t flip when I rotate my phone 180 degrees, so I can’t play and charge my phone at the same time comfortably. Second, just a small cultural note, traditional clothes in china are called Hanfu, so Sir Francis having a Japanese kimono to wear instead is a bit out of place.

Can’t purchase full game

I think this is an Apple issue, but it won’t let me purchase the full app. I really want to play it

confused

I really enjoy the game so far and love the puzzles but i am really confused on the part where i have to knock on the door i have tried doing all of the gaps inbetween the wall cracks but i still cant get it

Great game.

I love it!!Been playing for 2 days. Great job on puzzles and story.
I'm stuck on the last puzzle at the temple door--with the petals-- can you help me?

Stuck

Stuck on drag the rings over the mark on the book, nothing happens…HELP!!! Great game otherwise!

Can it have a Chinese version ?

Just a little advice .This is a game with a china background, maybe have a Chinese version will be better. 不过从好的方面来看,它给了我学习英语的动力😅😅

Great game, but I’m stuck

I’m stuck in the alchemy lab area inside of the temple, but I am stuck in the hint that says “I should drag the rings to overlap with the marks” and I don’t know what else to do

Wow! What a surprise!

Having played almost every escape game in SILK Store, I struggle to find new, challenging games. I stumbled on to this one and it just kept giving. It was tricky, long, and illustrated nicely. I played this without hints or a walkthrough over the course of about 2 weeks (maybe an hour or two per day). The puzzles were challenging, but the logic was solid and always made sense. I don’t love stuff with too much story - this one definitely had that, but that would be my only complaint if i had one. For folks who have played Rusty Lake or Glitch Games’ titles, this is along the lines of those in quality and difficulty. (Although, maybe a bit harder than Rusty Lake). If you’re looking for a game to keep you occupied for a bit, I highly recommend.

Exceptional

Excellent artwork and a good story. The puzzles could be hard (for me anyway) but the easier versions got me through. I look forward to playing another Leo Parker adventure.

Great Puzzle

I’m loving the game and have had decent challenges in solving. I am stuck at Palace for days so I copied the petals above the doors with clue as well the 5 buttons and clue under the water. I sent pics to google AI and it solved : top, bottom right, bottom left, top right then top left. Doesn’t work, if AI can’t solve then I can’t 😱

I love your work!!!❤️❤️❤️

I played Sand a while ago and absolutely adored it. I got so happy when I saw this in my recommended games. At the time I’m writing this, I haven’t fully played it, but I know it’s going to be great in every way. You are awesome and I love how you’ve crafted these stories. I can really tell you put your heart and soul into your games, and I appreciate the work you do. Keep it up!!!😁😁😁

Awesome game!

This game is so intriguing. I would give it more than 5 stars. Well worth the price. Good story and absolutely gorgeous artwork! The background music is peaceful and relaxing. The puzzles are unique. I like that you are given the opportunity to explore how to solve the puzzle, but there is a great system of hints to help you along without giving up the answer. I’m anxiously awaiting your next game. Please continue to give us more.

Wonderful game with good puzzles and enchanting artwork

I just finished playing this app, playing on and off over a period of about a week. I know some reviewers were less than impressed, but honestly I loved the game and hope the developer can create more. The storyline was intriguing, reading like a great pulp novel. The puzzles were very good, and I really liked the per-puzzle option to decrease the difficulty. But the real prize is the artwork, which really belongs in a graphic novel. Well done!

Incredible!

Ok so I was reading the other reviews before writing mine. And saw the dev response on one of the reviews.

This developer is a mum with a toddler, is an artist and had her husband pose for her drawings! Add on top of that creativity…lots of fun puzzles, simple yet engaging storyline, out-of-the-box (yet logical) challenges…for only $1.99! It can’t get any better than that!

Loved the background music as it fit the traditional Asian style.

The ONLY thing that imho could be improved is having faster click-response times? There’s a delay after clicking an area …so sometimes it seems as if nothing is happening so would click again…causing a mess of clicks. Not sure if it’s possible to address this. But it’s not a deal breaker either.

There aren’t a lot of these kinds of adventure games in SILK Store. Prob because they require a great deal of time, intelligence and talent! It’s also so refreshing to find a game that isn’t steeped in witchcraft and occult/demonic themes (like The Cube series…yuck).

So will definitely be looking forward to her next game!

Thank you!🙏🏻

Fantastic point and click

Great hand-drawn scenes, distinctive style, unusual puzzles. I absolutely love this game! Wish there were more like it!
