Not Ready for Prime Time

I upgraded thinking that this was going to be an upgrade. It is a significant downgrade in many key areas. Trusting the developer, I paid for a year up front.

This was not ready to ship because there are core features that I use everyday that are missing.

1. You can’t export to Things, OmniFocus, or Reminders.

2. Less import options

3. It seems like I need to keep my files organized within this app. This isn’t the way I work. I want to put my files where I want them.

4. I don’t see Focus mode

This should have been called this app Beta until key features were ready.

Not yet

I can see where these guys are going, and I can’t wait to see them get there. However, they are not there yet. Even just getting a subscription in Vision pro is impossible. All I get are nonstop errors when I try to subscribe. More to the point; you can’t really use the brainstorming function at all right now to do anything other than lists in columns. When MindNode is done and I can walk around my house building on my map as I go to really solve problems, then MindNode will be EPIC, but until then I can’t recommend it.

No connectivity to iOS

This has no connectivity with the iOS system. There’s gotta be a way to do that until that happens. It’s kind of useless unless you wanna go back through and redo all the mind maps which I just don’t have the time to do… Kind of defeats the purpose of productivity

Disappointed this app doesn’t sync with iOS or Mac

I was so excited to get MindNode when it came out, but once I found out, it doesn’t sync with my iOS or Mac apps I’ve stopped using it. It’s kind of pointless then. I needed to work with all my devices.

Very simple, not really useful

I wanna exit my room not be jailed in it- let me use environments!!!!

No uploads

Just purchased the iPhone and ipad programs and find it works for a new map. But it will not allow me to upload my Ithoughts files as stated in their user guide. There appears to be missing the “open” function - hence can upload files. No good if I can’t upload my 50+ Ithoughts files.

Forced Upgrade

I appreciate that my subscription isn’t going to waste, but this forced upgrade to a new version before it has parity with the version it replaces is frustrating, to say the least. There is so much missing in this new version. For example, my most common activity is making a copy of an existing mind node, which I can’t appear to do with this version. I also have many existing mind nodes, and there does not appear to be a way to migrate them in bulk. Once I migrate them, the new app does not appear to have a way to create any folders or organize them, which will mean everything will be in one large directory. And it appears that the “classic” version of MindNode is no longer available for download, which means that I am in trouble if I need to download it again before the new version catches up. I’m not against going to something new, but, in my opinion, this migration isn’t being handled well.

Disappointed

I understand the direction the developer is heading however there are undoubtably, a large percentage of the customer base who do not need collaboration (me included) and were perfectly happy with the Classic version. Especially considering how lacking in parity with Classic this release is.

It’s also a shame (from a customers perception) that the efforts of the developer were focused on the development of Next for the past couple of years instead of enhancing Classic as that is what I was paying the subscription fee for.

Unless Next has feature parity soon, I’ll stick with Classic and eventually begin the journey of evaluating the competitors products.

Disappointing so much potential potential

Download MindNode to test the spatial functionality. I use MindNode all the time on my Mac unfortunately the spatial experience mind mapping simply isn’t enjoyable. I want to use my hands to connect ideas and have an infinite campus not be limited to different colored bubbles that can only be grouped horizontally I want to feel like a brainstorming wizard with my ideas, floating around me in infinite canvas

It’s frustrating for consistency of font setting and theme settings.

I want to set specific font for my node, but I need to change every time for a new branch, can you guy fix this? It drives me crazy, the only thing I like about the this app next is that I can see all the documents in all documents tab and add a new tab would not create a new window, otherwise I would never use it. Plz make it better alright?

No really taking advantage of Spatial environment

I’ve been waiting a long time for a Mind Mapping tool that was 3 dimensional that could be utilized in an open environment. It’s a shame that this wasn’t the case with this one. Future Functionality I’d be expecting would be 3 dimensional mind mapping, the ability to color the border of the Mental/mind nodes and connecting string/line. The ability to expand upon a node to open up a secondary and tertiary mind map (each one that is expanded is highlighted while the tree above it fades into background)

Key features from Mindnode Classic missing

Hey there! I’m super excited about the latest release and can’t wait to see what’s next! this app has been a great tool for me, but I wanted to share a couple of suggestions for features that could make it even better:

• Rename a document directly from the title bar. This would make it so much easier to organize my documents and rename them quickly and automatically.
• Share documents as a public link. This was such a standout feature in this app Classic, and I’d love to see it return! It made sharing my documents so much simpler without needing to share the link manually from MindNode . (

Thanks for all the hard work—you’ve built an amazing product, and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow!

Don’t know how to get back to classic version

I bought a new Mac and couldn't download the this app classic because the AppStore said it wasn't compatible with my computer, if I hadn't read other reviews I wouldn't have known I had to redownload it under previous purchases, I tried the this app Next version and I found it slow, many things different from the classic version in a way I didn't like. What I like most about the classic version is that it's fast (since I have very large this app files) and simple.

Great, but…

Need to bring back Printing…Please!

Love this very promising app!

Just the brain storm area makes MindNode worth supporting! So, Bravo - I’m in! It helped my old brain the first time I tried it. Keep going! I love what you’ve come up with so far!

MindNode is my go-to!

This new version is exciting as a longtime user of this app, because it has enabled the collaboration on documents that I think will be useful for my spouse and I. I understand that a few of my favorite features like Focus mode, and the Apple Watch app are coming back, too! The team offers excellent and friendly support. They've also published the roadmap for MindNode on their site, so if you feel that a feature may be (currently) missing from this app, perhaps check there. Ive used this app to plan a major move, building businesses, outlining a novel, sending to-do's to Things, and shaking loose the thoughts that i have about any topic that I need to flesh out. Thanks, team at Ideas On Canvas - I will always support you and your excellent work!

Major bugs

doesn't support Persian and Arabic fonts as it does on previous app.
On iPad It also doesn't allow exporting (any format such as pdf) as it does on iPhone.
I cannot change "shape" color more than once unless I redo and cannot change "border" color at all.

I’ve been waiting for this!

This is a day one review, and thus far it works beautifully, and IT. HAS. COLLABORATION! My only issue so far is that I can’t download it on iOS - it says “Purchased” but won’t let me download it.

Collab ability, at last!

As a long term Windows user, I was completely sold on this app as soon I was introduced to the Apple ecosystem and specifically, this app. The ability to mind map fits so well with my thought processes and perhaps slight ADHD tendency? The ability to get thoughts quickly captured then shuffled, along with the real time sync across devices is huge for me. The glaring missing feature to date has been the ability to collaborate with my thought partners. Problem solved with this app Next! I have been using it since it came out yesterday with no issues. As I have multiple this app files for difference focus areas,I have been looking the Files > Open Recent drop down option. It may be tucked somewhere I am not looking, but if it is not the product yet, it would be a helpful addition.

My Go-To

When it comes to writing, planning and organizing, this is what I reach for, especially now, with this app Next, I can have this on all my devices and projects stay in synch. That being said, there are features in this iteration I’d like that are not there yet, but apparently are coming in future updates. Highly recommend.
