Potential, that can be fixed easily.

The game has potential. It has a solid foundation but instead of adding more content to the game as it is, I would focus on tweaking the gameplay to allow for a better experience. The first thing that should be looked at is the scaling factor you have. Why do year check ups scale? Let alone the RnG of losing energy, but on top of that you have it scaled in price? 0 sense. Then there is landing a role, I get it you want the game to feel challenging but focus on the difference between “challenging” and “unfair”. The game is unfair, as it is right now. It doesn’t make sense that I spend 10 years refining skills, taking classes to earn experience, and have small roles only to be hit with the same level of difficulty of landing roles. There is no real sense of progression, and if it does exist it doesn’t feel fairly achievable. These are my 2 cents.

Huge Step Down From Music Star

It really hurts me to make this review after the amount of time and energy i’ve spent on Music Star. After downloading HollywoodMovieStarLifeSim, i’ve sat for about 3 1/2 hours playing non-stop. This entire time, I’ve gone absolutely nowhere. I’m still D List, i actually can’t score ANY auditions at all, they all reject me (i’m used to it so idc about that) but I had SO much fun with Music Star, the game actually is fairly easy and way more addicting, I’ve spent upwards of 10+ hours playing it. This version *WOULD BE ADDICTING* if I could actually get somewhere. Either this game is 10 times harder or it is legitimately all by chance. I am so sorry for having to make this review, you guys work hard. I just can’t be wasting hours getting nowhere. Luckily, i didn’t spend a penny in the game. I would most definitely recommend Music Star and i’d even spend money on that. But this one??? Nope. It has so much potential, too. Again i’m sorry guys for writing this but i gotta be honest after all the time I’ve spent.

Harder than real life!

I live in Hollywood and have actually worked as an actress, stand-in and extra. I’m a member of SAG. All much easier to achieve than this game! There are no instructions in this game and I just did what was logical—took all the acting classes, made reels, uploaded a (AI) headshot, and in 4 game years only got 4 auditions, was ghosted by hundreds and couldn’t even get a job as an extra! I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but there are literally no instructions. Any moron can get a job as an extra IRL. The entertainment industry is hard but not THAT hard. If I’m doing something wrong, please provide instructions. It gets boring taking jobs like dog walker and not even getting auditions for an extra (which usually doesn’t even require an audition or acting classes.)
Also you don’t actually audition for working as a stand-in, it’s based solely on your height, hair and skin coloring and you are never even on camera unless they want you to work as a body double as well.

Nice concept, but the benefits aren’t worth the effort

The title says it all. The concept is nice, but there’s so much grind for very little rewards. It takes FOREVER to level up, and even when you’re experienced in every possible aspect, you still get ghosted or rejected from auditions and are struggling to book roles.

I’ve tried and retried at least a dozen times, and every single time it takes YEARS to even get somewhat decent roles in commercials/short films. I’ll give credit for realism, since breaking into the entertainment industry is incredibly difficult, but this is a simulation game that’s meant to be fun, and at some point I’d like to feel rewarded for all the time I’ve spent.

The overall outcome just isn’t very satisfying, especially when I examine all the effort I’ve invested. I don’t feel like I’m “winning”—I feel like I’m chipping away at a brick wall.

energy loss and starting

i love this game a lot and played other ones from the developers but the main issue with this one is the energy loss as you age and from stalkers… it takes years in game to level up your skills and each year you lose energy by 1 and then it’s hard being able to get roles and afford security and at one point my energy was down to 46.. maybe cheaper security? or no energy loss with age? i can’t even max out my last skill because it’s 112 energy and my max is 87….

update: after restarting im still losing a lot of energy and my max is back down to 90 this is bad because i have to emprove my roles before shootings and this takes WEEKS to complete them and the endorsements take so much energy it’s so hard to do things

Some things need help

This game is really a great game, I’ve played most of y’all’s games and most of them are great. But this one does need some help if i’m honest.

First i wish there was a way we could buy out or start up our own production company or we could make our own movies, kind of like Music Star.

Also the energy system needs to be fixed or something like it shouldn’t take 25 energy just to apply for a movie because if i have say 22 or 24 energy u can’t do a movie or anything without having to buy a car or something.

Also i don’t know if it’s just because i’m not a big enough actor or something but i’m a D list actor i have $222k and 12k followers and most of my traits are pretty high and i’m applying for TV episodes and stuff and i’m getting booked and released but i wait a year and i can’t get syndication. It’s really annoying and i’m super anxious to see what a syndication is but i can’t because i can’t get syndications.

Lastly we should be able to sign like a contract or something where we get to act in the entire series without auditioning for every single episode.

Please fix and look at adding these things i would greatly appreciate it and i think some other people would too.

Has potential

Listen, I like this game. But I started over because I thought I had worked out how to improve my talents only to find that j was entirely wrong. The exponential increase to spending energy on talents, the energy cost of jobs, applying for auditions, and expending energy on improving your auditions/bookings only for it to make absolutely no difference in the end, and how frequently your energy decreases when you only start with a max of 100 in the first place, are frustrating. Oftentimes I’d find myself doing everything I could think of to increase my different talent scores only to see they haven’t budged, or there is at least no indication that they have budged. The tooltips and help aren’t very clear. I think it would greatly benefit this game if there were some tweaks to energy gained versus expended, max energy, and maybe making acting classes and auditioning/booking roles visibly improve talent scores instead of just experience. I wouldn’t mind an occasional option to watch an ad to boost something if I’m running out of time to boost performance on an audition or something, even.

Please read this

This game is not fully ready yet. There needs to be options to spend more on expenses to boost something. Auditions for big roles are like impossible I’ve paid money to get my talent all the way up and if my agent doesn’t have it booked no matter if I have a 100 audition rating and my showreel is 90 it still won’t give me the role not EVEN ONCE. Another thing with that like I said my talent is all the way up and no matter what my performance on a movie is 50 to 65 I have BARELY had a GREEN performance It’s ridiculous. I gave it a three star because compared to music star this isn’t good. This need to be fixed up. It would be nice to see more of real movies to play parts in. But overall I see the potential just clean it up and it really hard to upgrade energy try to make way to do that u had a relationship on music star that would be nice on here to and to have kids to keep going. Please read this if u do this this game will be a 5 star love LLC but come on guys will change my rating and write a new review hopefully after the changes

Really Good Game But can be better

1. This game is arguably the best acting (movie/tv) sim ever. But, there are a lot of hardships to get famous and good acting roles if you don’t want to pay. But as you practice and maybe get your stats to 80+ you can get good roles.

2. I enjoy the comedic movie names, referring to real movie names. But, I think the game would be much better if sequels (movies) were included. Just like when a show is renewed for another season, you are automatically told and in the next season.

3. Having the shows get renewed is an amazing feature. But, sometimes when the show is just too good the seasons just won’t stop renewing. And I wish we were able to exit the show, and not stay in the show for the next season. This would allowing time for other roles.

4. THE GAME IS WAY TO HARD! When I started the game, I was so stressed out because of how hard getting roles are. You need to get three principal roles to get into union. And get a good agent to get good roles if you’re not very famous. When you finally get famous you need security so nobody can steal your money, stalk you, etc.

5. In conclusion, I think you guys should at a feature in which the player can choose easy, medium, or hard mode. Since all players (right now) are in hard mode and that is really difficult especially for new players. The game is amazing and I hope it will continue to grow!

Great at first until you reach billionaire

Enjoyable at first. Grinding and trying to maximize energy spending every week is quite addicting. Finding that perfect talent agent or manager is awesome as they really help with progression. Don’t wait too long to build up your talent points or you won’t score those better gigs.

The director addition was a good idea, however, it feels like it’s missing some additional sliders that players can adjust to improve or worsen the outcome of the movie. Maybe allow the player to choose equipment, producers, camera men etc., or the ability to create scenes for your movies. Some additional events would be cool too. Things that a player must choose that will affect different aspects. And as others have said, once you get to a certain point, there is nothing else to purchase and with the new cap on directing/creating movies, doesn’t give much incentive for players who have put in work and invested real money to even play anymore. Just a few ideas! Thanks for the game!

Good but needs work!

I enjoy really any new games these studios release, and this was is without any exception of being good but it does need work! For one, it takes 40+ years to become an A+ actor, and auditioning feels very rigged. It feel like for every 15 movie/tv show/commercials you audition you only get accepted to one! Also, I’m still waiting for the update where we can release our own movies under our own studios! I have invested about $20 for this game, and one of the most sad parts is that if you delete HollywoodMovieStarLifeSim you can not retrieve your previous purchase but have to re purchase them (same goes for the Music Star). Another thing is that when HollywoodMovieStarLifeSim goes through all it’s movies and tv shows names, they just recycle them, and I’m like: we need more titles because I don’t want to act in movies/tv shows I’ve already!

The plus about this game is that it’s as immersive as playing Music Star. It uses the basic formula from Music Star so I could catch on easily for this game! Also, it’s enjoyable now having a percentage of a movie!

Another thing I would want to change is if the box office part of the game uses real-time box office. What I mean, the better the movie the longer it stays, and the more worse the movie, the less it stays in!

Overall, this movie is a solid B+ to A- movie. Needs work, and I know we’re going to get there, but overall for now it’s a solid game that I got easily addicted to!

Good, need tweaks, devs working on fixes

Overall it’s well done, a little grind isn’t bad. Energy may need a very light tweak, negotiation screen needs fix or sample if on season 10 of a show can’t negotiate bc button is cut off, additional job opportunities with more money would be nice, security prices and effectiveness could use some improvements, option for better agents or manager could be better but maybe just luck, being your own agent and/or manager should be an option as well as being able to set your own investing and finding better auditions or bookings maybe add better audition opportunities at a higher energy cost but don’t make it super high cost, allow to invest in tv series or movies you are in. Hopefully they add more of these things but so far good job :)

Awesome Game! Could you also add these options?

Awesome Game! I’m a Film student and I enjoy playing this in my downtime. Some things I wish you would consider adding are the following.
1. Being able to hire actors that aren’t “stars.” It’s cool that you guys have a pool of actors but if we had the ability to hold auditions that would be cool as well.
2. Being able to Act in your own Film or Show. This is something that is actually quite prevalent in the industry especially for well known actors. I feel like this would add more to the experience.
3. The number of Actors you can hire as well as crew. Is it possible for you guys to make it where the creator can decide how many actors they pick? In addition could you add the ability to hire crew?
4. Vault transferring. I noticed that the vault doesn’t take exact change, in fact you put in less than you gave to the vault. Is it possible for this to change?
5. Acting lessons. In real life Actors are always taking classes no matter how famous you are. Is it possible for you guys to make where you can constantly learn?
6. The number of Episodes you can make. Can you give us the ability to decide how many episodes in a show we want to make?
7. Being able to make sequels for a Film. Is it possible for you guys to add a way to make sequels for films in the launch content section, as well as making spinoff shows?

Again, thank you for making an awesome game!

Good but needs work.

The game is fun, borderline addicting and easy enough to get into. However there are several issues which need addressing. My biggest issue is with the casting process: which seemingly has no rhyme or reason to it other than complete and utter randomness. You could audition for roles, have all of your talent stats maxed out (including experience) and deliver a 100 on the audition performance and still not be selected. That seems incredibly flawed as a system to me and sort of spoils some of the fun of the game.

Another gripe is that pretty much all of the movie/show titles are slight variations of real life versions, this is fine by itself but it means that after a while they just get recycled. My advice to the devs to streamline the process of adding more unique titles and descriptions would be to use online title and description generators for film. There are plenty online and combining them to add more would solve this issue entirely in a way that doesn’t take up any real dev effort.

Lastly, it would be cool if we could interact with and have personal relationships with other people in the industry. Just something that would add to the immersive aspect of the game.

Good work and I hope that these issues/requests can be implemented in time!

Fantastic game, couple issues

Really fun game loop with great sense of progression. Definitely worth getting, but there's a couple issues I have. One, when negotiating different parts, even if you have over 100% chance with your agent/manager, you can still fail pretty regularly. I also have an absurd amount of 80% + negotiations fail. There's definitely some skewing being done here and it feels super unfair to the player. Second, you'll get offers from agents and managers at like half the skill level of your current one. Realistically those people aren't approaching an A list celebrity. There should be some sort of minimum overall they can be to be on your list as your status grows. Overall super fun game but needs some work to feel complete.

One more really honest review

Listen, I really love this game and I really do not usually leave reviews for anything at all. This game as sweet as it is, it’s bitter. I’m not sure why I can have max stats and apply for an independent movie and hardly ever get the role. I know you say that “your agents should be taking care of you” but maybe you want to have a Keanu Reeves like career and nerd out to movies you think would be cool as well, while benefiting independent filmmakers and rising then to relevancy. It would be cool to see your guy impact smaller creators success as well.

Another thing is acting in your own movies, I saw a lot of people bring this up and I totally get it. Whether you want to be like Quentin Tarantino and be a side actor or be like Woody Allen and be the subject of your own movie, I believe it should be an option.

I think you need to pay money to get max stats in this game instead of using your system as a ladder for progress. Maybe you can add a exp system to where you can update some skills.

I also thought about soundtracks, either hiring someone or learning audio on your own.

Just spitballing but I deleted the game, it became too much of the same thing.

Make some big changes and I’m sure this game will grow tenfold.

Thank you for reading.

Love the game but add more

And I also wanted to say you guys should add an option to make plays like in broadway and be able to play in your own movies you write and shows you write/ produce for both movies and shows and plays. And then I was thinking about combining the two games together the music star sim and the movie Hollywood sim so it could be one big game you would be able to to produce your own music and movies and shows and play and also have your own studios and movie theatre and tv network and be able to sing your songs And star in your movies and shows and them showcase your movie and shows on your own network and show your own movies in your own movie theatre or stadiums for your own plays .

Energy

I love the game and all the other games and have gotten quite good at all of them but this one so far, but I’ve only been playing since yesterday lol. The one thing I’m wondering is why does the voice and speech skill cost so much more than the other skills energy wise, and is there any better way to increase max energy other than buying very expensive vehicles and paying real money? I felt it was easier in the other games to increase skills to atleast 70-80 and increase max energy without paying real money. I’ve gotten all the skills to high 90s right now besides voice and speech which is at 49 and my max energy is about 90 and it costs 100 to go up again.

Good game but needs a bit of balancing

It’s a good game with more strategic elements, and it’s (as of my knowledge) completely free to play. I’m only about half way through but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process. The annual check ups are a bit weird though. The first issue is that they aren’t annual. the second is that it has a chance to decrease energy, in fact, it feels more likely to sometimes. The last four or so runs have all been shot down by losing 14+ energy, perhaps the most important stat, due to bad rng. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but having to pay 7000 cash only to lose energy makes you question why it’s even there.

Chimpanzee LLC is by far Favs Of Mine!

Chimpanzee LLC games are by far Favs Of Mine! This game needs very little work in my opinion. With a net worth of $300B, Over 20 Oskars and multiple Emmes as well, I like to think I’ve figured it out. After all I’ve completely took over the Top250 films list.

However two things I’ve noticed would be nice. One, I don’t think it’s fair that ONLY drama series get nominated for Emme awards concerning production, Directing and writing. All genres should have a chance.
Two, I believe we should be able to start our own streaming services and not only manage the subscription details such as cost and other things but also this would allow us to syndicate our own popular content and negotiate syndication for other producers work as well.
Allinall, this is truly an incredible game and I would recommend to anybody who likes realistic gameplay!! 🔥🔥 Great Work!!
