The square breathing guide is great. The animation is fun and cute. I like the reminders to take a moment and just breathe.
However, the quotes are completely discordant to the vibe I’m looking for when stopping my busy life to breathe. There have been several that made me frown. For example, today’s quote: “Good things happen to those who hustle.” What?! Firstly, no, they don’t. In our over-pressured, productivity-obsessed society “hustle culture” results in many mental and physical ailments. The level of stress that is caused by the capitalist insistence that we always be productive, always do more, is incredibly unhealthy. Have you seen the health stats for the U.S.? I’ll get off my soapbox now.
If the quotes continue to be this antithetical to the supposed goal of the app, to take a healthy pause, then I will be deleting it and not recommending it.

This is a cute app. I wasn’t able to figure out how I got extra characters, even though I completed my tasks every day, but that’s not a big deal.
The reason I deleted the app and only gave it three stars is the only way you can have sound in this app is to have the ringer turned on your phone. I’m not a “turn the ringer on” person and never have been. No other app on my phone requires the ringer to be on…except maybe Waterllama - but I don’t use that for sounds.
Willing to try it again when the sounds aren’t reliant on whether or not you’re a ringer person.

As someone who loves Waterllama, I was incredibly excited to see there was a new app for breathing exercises; dealing with an anxiety disorder this sounded like it would be a perfect fit! After downloading and starting my free trial, however, I discovered quite literally all it does is a single feature: 5 deep breaths with an icon of your choice on the screen. While the price for subscription is not incredibly high, I still hoped that for an app that is asking people to subscribe it would have at least a few extra features, possibly other breathing patterns to help with sleep or with being alert, or even just some mindfulness exercises. As this app grows I will be excited to see the additions, but in its current state I can’t see myself paying money to use this product.
