This game is bad because it is less acurrate even though more fun .If you are trying to learn chess very fast this might not be so good for you.
There are so many bugs, you don’t get rewarded, customizing your avatar is a joke as it will default back or flat out won’t change. And now some players learned to hack the game to force either a win or draw when they are clearly losing. When you make a report it will just get ignored.
Terrible game, I could easily program a better app over the weekend. I can even think what they were thinking while putting this together.
Continuously fails to connect and complains about desyncs and no internet connection even though my internet it working. I spent half an hour trying to get into a single game and couldn’t do it.
Watched my son play, he was rated 950 online, I am 2000 across the board watching him. He is playing an 848 that made moves I’ve only see engines make. The 848 played at almost 100% accuracy when analyzed. My son has since lost 100 points and has lost to many levels he easily beats day to day. Definitely some easy cheating somewhere.
Can’t login. Horrible interface to link chess.com account
Seems like a half finished idea. Crashed on the first move of the first three games. There is zero incentive to move forward or get better, there is no teaching aspect to the game. There is not even a battle chess component which could work well with the art style. This is a step backwards from their other apps, and the idea should be thoughtfully reviewed by the chess.com team.
I was actually excited to give this a try since I’m getting into chess, but the VERY first level won’t load for me. I just get this greyed out screen and I can’t move past it. I even tried reinstalling KingdomChess to see if it was a one off. Disappointed Chess.com recommended this to me
They advertise this like a fun way to play casual chess and then actually tie it to your chess.com rating. A warning about that would have been nice. I’m not sure why anyone would play this as is.
First of all, it’s impossible to make progress. I have been waiting 2 weeks just to upgrade my castle for the first time, and there is no way of telling how to gain scrolls to upgrade your tower, they just come at random. Secondly, apparently the game lets you make illegal moves, like castling through check. I guess this is why Lichess is better than chess.com, because at least they know the rules of the game
This game is unplayable right now. Severe serves issues and long loading times.
Fun way to play chess and i like the avatar and town building but lacks cheat detection features like the chess.com app.
It didn’t crash back months ago and prior but won’t even launch now. Too few levels as others have said.. great promise but failed execution.
The game crashed two times before I even made it to my first bot match and I'm pretty sure I missed out on some starter rewards/dialog, but I'm not 100% sure l because one of the crashes was in the middle of some instructional section, which just got skipped when I rebooted KingdomChess . Then after my first match the game crashed again.
Cool concept overall.
Buggy PvP. Lost many games on time due to the game server not updating the opponent’s move. It appears to be their turn, and their time is ticking down, but apparently the server is counting down my time while I am unable to play a move.
Reviewing games is boring. I wish it was the same features as chess.com game reviews, especially being able to move forward one half move at a time and see the best moves for each side.
I ended up stuck on a puzzle with no solution. I attempted all plausible moves, and found no solution. I then attempted EVERY available move and no solution. I used a power up to tell me the best move, still no solution.
I emailed them with the chess notation and got no assistance beyond an autogenerated email. It was enjoyable for the one day I got to play.
I don’t understand the point of KingdomChess. I have to grind coins to play chess games, but I can already play games with no limits on chess.com. I don’t get why I would play on KingdomChess instead.
Overall fun game, but annoying to make progress.
Progress is limited mostly by Tower level, which requires opening scrolls.
Scrolls are opened when you analyze a game, which is fine, but the scrolls themselves are very limited.
There’s not a lot of info in app that explains the functionality, but as far as I can tell, the only way to get scrolls is to wait 9+ hours at a time.
That means waiting days at a time before you can upgrade anything else or make any progress in the game.
The puzzles would be greatly improved if we could go back to all of them, not just those in the current level. The biggest help in learning would be boss puzzles that didn’t disappear. How are we supposed to understand what they are about when they vanish the second they solved?
The main site does this so well.
Reviews in the tower are limited as a diamond member. If we’re diamond we should have the ability to review all our games without the need of a scroll.
Also, there is a delay when starting a game that we are punished for. I lose 3-4 seconds off my clock based on the fact that my UI is loading.
I would like an unrated option, and option to select rating range. I got paired with someone 200 elo above me, where i usually play +/-50.
Because micro transactions
terribly boring to get to your own skill level
Building up a castle and getting avatar clothes is only so fun. It would be better if one had to play chess to get gold to then attack other kingdoms and expand an empire. Gold from play used to buy armies, weapons, and defenses. As chess was battlefield strategy prep back in the day I should get to do real battles in the game. Also since a few upgrades ago Iall battles end in the draw screen and the mage dosnt have analysis. Lame bugs.
I'm having fun with this but there are some gripes. If you are a lower elo, you can get absolutely trounced in the matchups more often than not. I find myself paired with much higher players. It's also makes me less likely to play against players since I have to bet coins.
The bots can be really hard although I think I'm improving but sometimes the errant knights will demolish me. The puzzle bosses are very difficult especially since there isn't an option for hints (outside of buying them?).
The game says my rating is 1200 and I can't change that? I'm closer to 850.
It will be interesting to see how the game progresses but I find the chess.com app more fun and less demoralizing
I’ve been playing against the AI computers for practice since I love the knight theme but during every match I find I’m just getting mad at the emojis popping up on the top half the screen. It makes sense for online play with people but this kind of childish nonsense should stay on Roblox or Clash of Clans, especially against computer. I lost a piece and it popped up a crybaby emoji, so app closed for now. The pathway missions seem like an amazing way to learn chess technique but the story is a short repeated loop and if you make a wrong move, your little dude has a hissy fit and you have to wait for all the animations to finish to try again. I wouldn’t mind so much if the boss levels (10 levels in 3 lives) didn’t randomize when you retried. Feel liked I’d learn more if I start to recognize the ones I beat. To be fair I did reach out to the team when the game counted a win as a loss, and they seem to be amazing and friendly people working on this game. I just wish there was a way to tone down the annoying ‘quirky’ things a bit.
Mission 1-10 has a puzzle that endlessly restarts itself when solved, so I can’t go any further. Also, there are messages that are displayed at the beginning of each mission, but they’re shown so briefly that they can’t be read in time before they’re gone. This is a great game with a lot of potential. It’s new (so there’s bound to be problems) and Chess.com is really busy with their server upgrades, but I hope these and other bugs are fixed soon.
The errand nights are supposed to reward gold and swords (not sure what they’re called) but I’ve never been awarded swords from winning and sometimes the gold doesn’t get added.
I like how you need to unlock bots of increasing difficulty since it actually incentives you improve in order to defeat them. The main criticism is the current form of the Tower: you are required to review your games in order to grind out scrolls to continue leveling up. But, reviewing your games is an entirely disengaged activity. You don’t need to actually find mistakes, etc, so it turns into a tap-to-complete pointless exercise.
Of course I understand the point is to attempt monetizing through gamification, and it’s a fair attempt, but we know 95% of users will never engage with pay-to-play mechanisms, making the artificial barriers to advance the game simply irritating. A quick fix would be to introduce other ways of finding scrolls, or buying them with coins, or awarding them for Great or Brilliant moves.
Every time I play a game, it always said draw. It also isn’t giving the player the rewards.
KingdomChess is really fun and a nice alternative to chess.com. It’s great that the two apps and your level is linked. However, on chess kingdom I got stuck with my castle on level 8. All buildings are build to level 9, but I cannot earn more trophies which are needed to move up to the next level, no matter how often I win against opponents?!
Love the concept and I’m having fun with it. My only quarrel is that the puzzle bosses are harder than they should be. I have spent a week on the same boss and while I have eventually figured out the puzzles, the same puzzles don’t show up when I retry and I feel as though my progress was pointless because now I have to re solve 10 puzzles that are surprisingly difficult. Thanks!
some games is so nice, i want to mark them.
This is an cool chess app that’s slowly taking over my life and becoming my #1 way to play.
Still some things to be added and smoothed out, but it’s a way more fun, lighthearted way of playing than other stuffy chess apps.
I really like this game because it takes Chess to a whole other level of fun! I downloaded it only about an hour ago and I still love it!!! I really recommend KingdomChess for people who want to play Chess with a different approach!
Fun to make progress and level up, totally fun without having to spend $$
This game is very engaging. I’m still confused as to what the missions are and what the strategy is in leveling up and which area do I level up in first but still, I like it.
Like playing chess but with gambling :)
This game comes with many bots to help beginners progress, it also provides free game reviews to help you improve and free puzzles. This is a great game for beginners to learn and grow.
pretty fun
Please make it playable horizontal mode on Ipad, vertical is not fun
It’s not giving me trophies when I win and when I win, it says draw.

The Kingdom of Chess was magnificent once, with towers that touched the sky... That was long ago, before the invaders came and brought ruin to our lands.
